USA scores again early in the third. Slovak clearing attempt hits Murray and goes in, so Murray gets the goal, unassisted. 3-0 Parise, Murray, and Werner have been unbelievably dominant. Parise getting worked over by the Slovaks even more than in the WCHA (least the announcer makes it sound that way). Kesler with a PPG, 4-0, then Werner from Parise, 5-0 Canada up 6-2 Slovaks continue to play cheap. US will be lucky to finish this one without an injury. Kesler gets chopped in the face, goes off bleeding. Another US PP. Game better end soon. Continues to get closer to a major brawl with under a minute left. Dowell lines up Blasik? and really levels him on a clean hit. Entire USA bench up and cheering. Game over, 5-0 (btw, the two teams are staying in the same hotel). USA POG is Parise.

PPG by USA in the second. Wisniewski sends Murray in on a breakaway, Parise scores on the rebound. 2-0 (Murray not given an assist, only Wisniewski, got to believe that will be changed, but who knows). Edit: Box score shows the only assist on Parise' goal to Richmond, radio announcer seems to often get the names wrong during play, so not sure if the goal was off a rebound of Murray's shot or not? Slovaks taking penalties, playing a major junior kind of game (14 are from Canadian major junior teams). Canada now up 3-1 on Switzerland in the second. Slovaks continue to work over USA players, much of the time after whistles. USA continues domination and leads 2-0 after two periods. Shots now 27-12.

USA 1-0 after one. Shots 17-3 USA.

Sioux will have to lose to Findlay to face Danis, as Wayne State has just beaten Brown 3-2 in OT.

Lots of specialty team play in this one. When shorthanded, Parise and Werner were out on the PK. Not sure what the PP combos were, but seemed like the lines were intact for them, so Murray was on much of the time the Parise line was on. Didn't hear his name as much as Parise and Werner, however.

Hale was back tonight vs. NY Islanders. Fight with Asham resulted in an instegator game misconduct along with the fighting major; guess he's over the flu. Bayda also back for Carolina after several games off, not sure if for injury or healthy scratches.

2-0 USA after one. Wisniewski from Parise (PPG), announcer originally said Murray made the pass, but it apparently was Parise Sterling from Stuart

http://www.usahockey.com/usa_hockey/04worldjrs/04worldjrs/ This morning's first game vs. Vanek and Austria on internet audio (10:30AM Central). Canada vs. Finland on CTV, same time. Slovakia tied Russia this earlier this morning (same pool as USA).

Looks like Montoya was pulled in the second; unless the plan was to let each goalie play half the game. Think this might be the USA's weakness; don't believe anyone can match the Canadian goaltending with Fleury.

That quote was from a Tampa Bay writer. There has been no information here or out of GF that Rosehill was being recruited by the Sioux, etc., etc. Maybe we'll never know for sure. At any rate he showed up on Heisenberg's site as a Duluth recruit some time ago.

Check out this thread to see the much earlier discussion on Rosehill: http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?sh...t=0&hl=rosehill

Was wondering what happened to Hale. He had been in the lineup every game, but has not appeared in the box scores from the last 3-4 games. Definitely hope it's not a reoccurence of what happened last year.
-
I believe Rosehill was drafted by Tampa Bay. At the time a TB writer had him committed to the Sioux. Noone here ever determined whether he was recruited by the Sioux or not?

Not the latest Bonds cover, but the only one with an NHL preview: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_online.../2001/1008.html

From a fan's perspective, it feels like waiting for a new season, also. Sioux looked a bit rusty, especially defensively, on Friday against Duluth. Lots of odd man situations in the Sioux end that the Dogs didn't take advantage of. Hope they don't look sloppy at SCSU, although they don't have the offensive firepower that Duluth does.

Ron Gustafson. The QB that threw to him, Jay Gustafson.

The Salmon Arm site has a couple of recent video clips; Zajac with a game tieing penalty shot (nice move) and Chucko with the GWG, as well as a Chucko fight. http://www.sasilverbacks.com/media.php Assume since Duncan is a senior and listed for 2005 he will play juniors a year.

See http://siouxsports.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1731. It's also been discussed in the coach's show thread. A promoter is apparently trying to get it into the Ralph.

Hale was +2 in NJ's loss to the Islanders tonight. Blake had a shorty in the Islanders 5-4 win. Belfour, 3-0 win over Tampa Bay, third shutout in last six games. He's hot.
