I believe Trupp checked Lucia as the puck went by, then Lucia speared him and completed a line change (didn't see the spear on TV, that's just what some fans at the game said happened), which is where Lucia was headed when the check occurred. At first look with Trupp on the ice and some other Sioux players looking like they were trying to get after someone on the Gopher bench, I thought a gopher had pulled a USA hockey and sticked Trupp from the bench. Jones lining up next to Lucia and dropping the gloves occurred on Lucia's next shift, I believe. Sounded like Sweeney on FSSN wanted to get a shot of what happened from a better angle, but, they didn't have one.

Was stupid, but I"d be more than happy to see Gophers running all over trying to take shots at Hextall, while the Sioux continue to fill the net tomorrow night. He got under the skin of many more than Stoa, right from the opening faceoff.

Hextall got in the goph heads right away in the first period. They spent so much time taking shots at him they forgot to play the game.

They close the gates when the underpasses are plugged and the plows aren't out. With all the loose snow, this will happen in any storm for the rest of the winter. Should be good to go until maybe later Friday.

The WCHA, which has typically had the 1-10 SOS in recent years, is not even close this year. HE has that distinction, all other conferences, not so good.

Hayes may have been the first in line, but at least one or two more of his teammates behind him followed his lead and did the same thing. A very classy thing to do 10 minutes into the game, acting like you have it won. I wanted the US to win but was hoping Canada would get back into it after that display, and was happy to see the game tied. It was a better game after that. There was also more to the scrum than just one Canadian sucker punch, which we've seen clearly on replays on NHL Network today.

Rolston says in post game interview that the US had a few "passengers" in the game. Wonder why a "passenger" didn't sit while the players that never saw the ice (Kessel, Kristo) replaced them?

Schroeder's ppg gives the US a 1-0 lead after one. Czechs did everything but score in the first 10 minutes, US is lucky to have the lead. Looks like Sioux Habit in his Sioux jersey is behind the US bench, but I don't think Kristo is in the lineup tonight, at least I haven't seen him, and I've been looking. Hope Habit is giving the US coaches an earful. Edit: Did see Kristo on the bench but haven't seen him on the ice. He was a regular on the PK vs Germany, but hasn't been on it tonight. Czechs tie it at 1 in the second.
