So if the video feed is blech on the uplink (as some folks can see) I shutter to think what it looks like after FCS gets it, uplinks it and DIrectv grabbes the feed and reuplinks that to customers receivers.

yeah I know. Those games are funny as the announcers ramble on about the drive there to ____________ school and what's for dinner on the ride home then they do the game. Scary thing? The games are on the CBS affiliate there (WYMT Hazard, KY)...yes its a real place

What is amazing is Midco covers 3 different teams (UND, USD and SDSU) and the video quality has varied so much between the teams. Now this is coming off the feed that Midco beams up on satellite The SDSU game looked pretty good yesterday The USD games in the dome look real washed out. Last weeks game outside against NDSU wasn't too bad The UND football games dont look bad but the hockey games are really bad (washed out....sometimes even blurry). There are times its real hard to see the picture But hey we got a penalty clock....I know everyone whined about not having that before

agreed! I dont know if Midco is using the old home movie cameras but the picture has been terrible all year. And the audio being off by a second or so makes it even more bush league Heck I've seen "Hillbilly high school football games" (from Eastern Kentucky) with better production values than this

Actually Root sports is a RSN (like FSN North)....use to be called Fox Sports Rocky Mountain and Fox Sports Northwest. Directv actually owns those station (has for a couple years) and renamed them "Root Sports" Nobody can really add it as a channel as it is a RSN....anyone who wanted to add it already has Directv is being nice and putting the Big Sky GOTW on 239-1 for free (contrary to what Ole thinks) to add customer with HD access BINGO...we have a winner

Dude seriously....give it up I have Directv with a "grandfathered" package.....called Choice Xtra Classic.So probably same package as you do (or I guess did) I have no sports package and yet I tuned to 239-1 and it was there. As for the UND games.....Midco has the rights. They have offered it to other cable companies who have picked up the games. Somewhere around 20 cable companies in ND and NW Minnesota. Fox College Sports didnt want to carry the games. Simple as that.

I know its after the game but you DO NOT need the sports pack to see the "BIg Sky game of the week" You just need HD access I am in Minneapolis (5 miles or so from Mistake Lake Casino) and watched it on 239-1. Every Root game of the week has been here and next weeks game is already in the schedule What package do you have with Directv? INfo on the Audience Network http://www.directv.com/premiums/audience?footernavtype=-1&lpos=header scroll down to the bottom where the schedule is and if you go backwards on the schedule you'll see Montana vs North Dakota under 239 DTV HD

Midco cable probably gets a direct feed so there wouldnt be a difference picture wise. Midco screwed up...plain and simple. The quality for the games has been less than stellar. Heck a couple weeks ago I saw a USD Coyote football game and the main (wide) picture was so washed out it was just Turribull. Was really hard to watch

I think Midco needs to throw their old 1980's video cameras out.....a couple weeks ago they showed SoDak football and the "main" camera was so washed out it was Turribull.....Just Turribull

The game showed in the guide (I saw it listed under 626) but due to MIdco screwing up with the way they sent the feed out to other cable companies and FCS the 1st hour + of the game didnt show. All that was there was sound...no video. This did not affect Midco subs as they get a direct feed (obviously) I had posted a few things when it was happening

they had to flip a switch to output the video properly. All is good now

This is the first feed Midco has sent out differently. All the football games they've shown this year (both UND and USD) have worked fine. The fact they have other cable companies picking up the feed it makes no sense why they changed the way it was sent out to them. They are using more bandwidth than what the FSSN did so the change they made wasn't needed. Actually I hope Midco goes back to the way it was. Will make it easier for everyone

Its Midco that screwed it up. They changed the way they output the video and obviously didnt warn anyone that they need to change their equipment. I'm speaking of the cable companies outside of Midco. FCS probably was set up for the same way they got the games for the last few years and Midco changed the way the picture is sent out. Hopefully they scrap the idea and go back to the way it was

all hockey games produced by Midco (home games) are on Fox College Sports this year (like previous years) Need the sports pack to get them

this weeks games on 239-1 (Audience Network on DIrectv) and Root Sports are Montana at Northern Colorado at 2:30 and Montana St. at UC-Davis at 6:00 The UND game is on SWX in Spokane (digital subchannel from KHQ NBC there)

Montana has one more game on Max Media which is the ABC affiliates in Montana and that is the game against Southern Utah (on the 13th) Montana State's Max Media game is ironically against UND You are correct as to why they chose Montana & Montana State.....but it also has to do with coverage. Some of the teams Root Sports isnt in their market. Root Sports is the RSN for Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Colorado on cable.

Just a FYI for those with Directv Those "game of the week" Big Sky games on Root sports are going to be carried in HD on channel 239-1 which is a subchannel of the "Audience Network". The Montana game is in there already for this week (against N Arizona) You will NOT need the sports pack to see those games. Just a HD receiver

that game starts at what 2PM? (South Dakota) plenty of time to get the UND game on at 8

If you have Dish or Directv you could add the sports pack....and get the games

only Montana and Montana state games as they go statewide.....Root Sports uses fibre normally
