  1. Hmmmm... 12/17/1986 May I be the first to say: We may have another 25 y/o Canadian. Here's to you Doug Woog...
  2. Goal (3): Philippe Lamoureux Aaron Walski Anthony Grieco Defense (7): Robbie Bina Taylor Chorney Joe Finley Zach Jones Chay Genoway Derrick LaPoint Jake Marto Forward (15): Rylan Kaip Kyle Radke TJ Oshie Ryan Duncan Andrew Kozek Ryan Martens Brad Miller Matt Watkins Chris VandeVelde Darcy Zajac Michael Forney Brad Malone Evan Trupp Matt Frattin Brent Davidson
  3. If you don't know, PLEASE don't open Pandora's Box...
  4. Oh I think you could have, you are just trying to shrug off your responsibility...
  5. Keep in mind that the third line is a checking line so I was looking for a physical player. Malone fits that build.
  6. It's just too much fun not to try to pick lines... (Siouxnami - Siouxzy joint picks) D1: Taylor Chorney - Robbie Bina D2: Joe Finley - Derrick LaPoint D3: Zach Jones - Chay Genoway F1: Chris VandeVelde - TJ Oshie - Ryan Duncan F2: Evan Trupp - Andrew Kozek - Michael Forney (Frattin takes Forney's place if he is STILL hurt) F3: Rylan Kaip - Kyle Radke - Brad Malone F4: Darcy Zajac - Brad Miller - Matt Watkins (center, forward, forward) Ready in reserve: Jake Marto Matt Frattin Ryan Martens
  7. I know what you are thinking. "What, are you crazy, we are still loaded." The loss of Lee hurts in 2 ways, one is obvious the other is not so obvious. In losing Lee we lose maybe our best passing defensman and someone that racked up a ton of points. But we also lose one of only 2 right handed shots on the blue line. For 2007 we will have 7 defenders (8 if you count Radke) and all but 1 (Bina) shoots left. This may become an issue on the PP and PK. Pairing a L and R shooter is nice on the PP as well as for clearing the puck on the PK. I would expect to see the top defensive pairing to be Chorney and Bina, but after that there will be two all L handed pairings. I would guess Finley/Genoway and Jones/LaPoint will be the other 2 pairings, with Marto seeing enough action to prevent a redshirt. I would not be surprised to see Kaip who is both defensive and a good passer to play defense on the PP if the second pairing does not materialize. I like Finley with Genoway, because from time to time Genoway tends to forget he is a defensman. The interesting thing is that the Sioux will have 4 offensive defensmen and 2 more physical players. This means our centers will be huge. As a whole this team is very Left handed, though I am not certain about all the incoming forwards.
  8. Everything is getting clearer, I think the one question still out there is Hamilton. Goal (3): Philippe Lamoureux Aaron Walski Anthony Grieco Defense (7): Robbie Bina Taylor Chorney Joe Finley Zach Jones Chay Genoway Derrick LaPoint Jake Marto Forward (14): Rylan Kaip Kyle Radke TJ Oshie Ryan Duncan Andrew Kozek Ryan Martens Brad Miller Matt Watkins Chris VandeVelde Darcy Zajac Michael Forney Brad Malone Evan Trupp Matt Frattin
  9. Well, you play with the team you have, and we are loaded next season. Best of luck to Brian Lee, I'm just sorry he had to put up with so many a$$h01es at UND. If there is a silver lining, I think that we may get out of that nasty cycle of having 4 freshman defensmen every 3 or 4 years. Still getting Chorney, Finley, Oshie, and Duncan back leaves us primed, especially when we lose just a couple of seniors and bring in a great freshman class.
  10. Forney's injury was healing just fine, he's ready for his freshman year...
  11. Rule 73c) A shot by Ryan Duncan shall not be ruled a goal unless it hits both a crossbar and a post.
  12. Not good enough, I want it now... Also this is where I tip my cap to Hak since he has proven such an outstanding judge of talent. Between Frattin and Gregoire, I would have gone with Gregoire by a landslide, but Hak is far smarter than I so I must say he knows something...
  13. Either way they have done a nice job recruiting...
  14. Here are the top scorers at the U16s. I bolded a couple of possible Sioux, but of course there are always surprises. I did notice that Hanowski is not on the list, and that would be a huge steal from the rodentia... 12 Select 16 Gold Keith, Thomas Forward 5 0 5 4 9 1 0 0 0:00 8 Select 16 Purple Walters, Ryan Forward 5 0 5 2 7 2 0 1 0:00 20 Select 16 Purple Cinquegrana, Paul Forward 5 0 4 3 7 1 0 1 0:00 10 Select 16 Black Schrotenboer, Zach Forward 5 0 3 3 6 0 0 2 0:00 19 Select 16 Gold Longoria, Dylan Forward 5 0 3 3 6 0 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 Teal Tullis, Joey Forward 5 0 3 3 6 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 Teal Smith, Brad Forward 5 0 4 2 6 0 0 2 0:00 17 Select 16 White Bettencourt, Andy Forward 5 0 2 4 6 0 0 0 0:00 8 Select 16 White Christian, Gunner Forward 5 0 0 5 5 0 0 0 0:00 4 Select 16 Purple Schmidt, Nate Defense 5 0 2 3 5 0 0 1 0:00 17 Select 16 Purple Lynch, Travis Forward 5 0 4 1 5 1 0 1 0:00 3 Select 16 Purple Ramage, John Defense 5 0 2 3 5 0 0 0 0:00 18 Select 16 Purple Yogan, Andrew Forward 5 0 3 1 4 0 0 1 0:00 12 Select 16 Black Deblois, Derek Forward 5 0 4 0 4 1 0 1 0:00 5 Select 16 White Crowley, Richie Defense 5 0 3 1 4 0 0 1 0:00 12 Select 16 Teal Kase, Doug Forward 5 0 0 4 4 0 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 Purple Mahalak, Ralph Forward 5 0 0 4 4 0 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 White Budish, Zach Forward 5 0 1 3 4 1 0 1 0:00 3 Select 16 Black Forte, Kyle Defense 5 0 0 4 4 0 0 0 0:00 9 Select 16 Teal Alfieri, Sam Forward 5 0 2 1 3 1 0 0 0:00 6 Select 16 Gold Hartner, Max Defense 5 0 0 3 3 0 0 0 0:00 16 Select 16 Black Oliver, Nick Forward 5 0 1 2 3 0 1 0 0:00 11 Select 16 Gold Brown, Chris Forward 5 0 2 1 3 1 0 1 0:00 16 Select 16 Teal Capuano, Max Forward 5 0 1 2 3 0 0 0 0:00 17 Select 16 Teal Demopoulos, Stefan Forward 5 0 1 2 3 1 0 1 0:00 18 Select 16 Teal Wetzel, Nick Forward 5 0 2 1 3 0 0 0 0:00 9 Select 16 Black Parker, Jon Forward 5 0 1 2 3 0 0 0 0:00 11 Select 16 Teal Sutton, Brett Forward 5 0 2 1 3 1 0 0 0:00 6 Select 16 Black Lovejoy, Nick Defense 5 0 1 2 3 1 0 0 0:00 11 Select 16 White Bechard, Kevin Forward 5 0 2 1 3 1 0 1 0:00 7 Select 16 Teal Phillips, Paul Defense 5 0 1 2 3 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 White Svoboda, Ty Forward 5 0 3 0 3 0 0 0 0:00 18 Select 16 Gold Treais, Aj Forward 5 0 1 2 3 1 0 0 0:00 8 Select 16 Teal Daugherty, Ryan Forward 5 0 0 3 3 0 0 0 0:00 16 Select 16 Gold White, Ryan Forward 5 0 2 1 3 0 0 0 0:00 12 Select 16 Purple Tabrum, Matt Forward 5 0 2 1 3 1 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 Gold Army, Derek Forward 5 0 1 2 3 0 0 0 0:00 7 Select 16 Red Ramsey, Cory Defense 5 0 1 2 3 0 0 0 0:00 11 Select 16 Purple Moor, Tj Forward 5 0 2 1 3 0 0 0 0:00 18 Select 16 Black Hourihan, Mark Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 1 0 0:00 8 Select 16 Black Lynch, Kevin Forward 5 0 2 0 2 0 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 Red Moran, Michael Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 Black Underhill, Tyler Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 19 Select 16 Teal Maugeri, Tyler Forward 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 8 Select 16 Gold Obrien, Thomas Forward 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 20 Select 16 Teal Coffey, Ryan Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 19 Select 16 Black Zawacki, Daniel Forward 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 20 Select 16 Black Ritter, Travis Forward 5 0 1 1 2 1 0 0 0:00 3 Select 16 Gold Shea, Colin Defense 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 10 Select 16 Red Zarbo, Joseph Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 Purple Picking, Jake Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 Red Mccarthy, Christopher Forward 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 11 Select 16 Black Sucese, Jonathan Forward 5 0 1 1 2 1 0 0 0:00 20 Select 16 Red Tatrn, Zach Forward 4 0 2 0 2 0 0 0 0:00 2 Select 16 Purple Romanick, Nicholas Defense 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 10 Select 16 Teal Zepeda, Tyler Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 15 Select 16 Black Lynes, Jake Forward 5 0 1 1 2 1 0 0 0:00 2 Select 16 Black Rogalski, Joe Defense 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 17 Select 16 Black Heng, Nate Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 0:00 14 Select 16 Gold Hotchkin, Cody Forward 5 0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0:00 10 Select 16 Purple Collins, Stephen Forward 5 0 2 0 2 0 0 0 0:00 19 Select 16 Purple Willows, Matt Forward 5 0 1 1 2 0 0 0 10:00
  15. I wonder why we can't get the whole story on Hamilton? Anyone in contact with Brad?
  16. Did you ever doubt this... BTW, David, UND is your ticket to the Order of the Buffalo hunt. Also, the Buffalo Hunt sounds like something that should be done in Fargo, yearly...
  17. Latest update, 2007 removed, 2010 added. Threw some names out for fun. And also made a top five wish list, just for fun. 2008: Almost certainly some 2008s will defer to 2009. Right now I would contend that there is room for 1 maybe 2 more 2008 players at the most. Forwards: David Toews - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Obviously Derek Lee - Salmon Arm BCHL - One of the Top Forwards available Cam Lamoreux - Drumheller AJHL - Family Ties Kelly Zajac - Salmon Arm BCHL - Family Ties, not as highly regarded as Darcy. Justin Johnson - Eau Claire N. HS - I know nothing Defense: Corbin McPherson - Cowichan Valley - Big Player, 88 birthdate, 3rd round pick. Brett Kostolansky - Shattuck-St. Mary's - Top defender, but I'm not sure we will have room. 2009: (Likely a HUGE class with many forwards) Forwards: Ben Hanowski - Little Falls - Gopher fan with a Sioux coach, if he gives us a chance I think he will see that UND fits his style and development needs better. Zack Budish - Edina - lets hope Finley and Gleason are doing some talking Sam Alfieri - Shattuck St.Mary's - yet another great Shattuck Forward Tyler Landman - Roseau - Smaller dynamic forward. Danny Mattson - Holy Angles Defense: Cory Fienhage - Eastview - Big Defender Matt Bruneteau - Yup, that family Ben Hughes - Shattuck-St. Mary's - I know nothing Ben Montgomery - Shattuck-St. Mary's - I know nothing 2010: Forwards: Greg Lamoreux - Elite Canadian Player Brett Hebel - Warroad - I'll let the locals comment Nate Schmidt - St. Cloud Cathedral - Likely to Minnesota Emerson Etem - Shattuck St. Mary's - top line 92 Guan Wang - Shattuck St. Mary's - top line 92 Defense: Nick Mattson - Chaska Nick Bruneteau - Yup, that family Dominic Racobaldo - Shattuck St. Mary's - top defender 92 Siouxnami's wish list (because hey, my birthday is coming) 1) David Toews 08-09 2) Greg Lamoreux 09-10 3) Nick Mattson 09-10 4) Ben Hanowski 09 5) Derek Lee 08-09
  18. Funny, the facts come out and all of the sudden, the charges look like complete BS and the people demanding Bina's head turn out to be the uninformed a$$holes we all suspected they were. The sad thing about this is that even though he committed no crime and should have never been charged, this will still follow him around. This is too bad, because the way he played most of last season, I really thought he would have a chance as an All-American.
  19. Looks like you already got this but here is what I have assuming the Hamilton thing is true (Which I personally have no reason to believe or doubt). Goal (3): Philippe Lamoureux Aaron Walski Anthony Grieco Defense (8): Robbie Bina Taylor Chorney Brian Lee (will he stay, we should know by June 1st?, yeah right...) Joe Finley Zach Jones Chay Genoway (will he play forward if Lee stays?) Derrick LaPoint Jake Marto Forward (15): Rylan Kaip Kyle Radke TJ Oshie Ryan Duncan Andrew Kozek Ryan Martens Brad Miller Matt Watkins Chris VandeVelde Darcy Zajac Michael Forney (will he be healthy enough to play?) Brad Malone Evan Trupp Brett Hextall (Is he still a 2007?) Matt Frattin (does this speak to Hamilton or the health of Forney?)
  20. I had took a "Robbie, shoot from here." sign down by the ice for warm ups at the F5. Pohl thought it was pretty funny.
  21. Just as an aside... I think it would be cool if someone made a 187 foot long sign that said. "Hey Frazee, 187 feet is a very, very, very... ... very long distance." You involve the whole student section.
  22. Liar, the human eye can only process 12 frames per second. Therefore only Phil saw it...
  23. Phil has certainly gotten his share of crap on this board over the years, some of it very deserved. But, I don't think you can be a hockey fan and not respect what Phil did this year. Congratulations on earning this award, and best wishes for continued health. http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/bruins..._the_masterton/
  24. I don't think this is anything we don't already know. Given the typical development of D-men at UND, I would think that Lee would have a spectacular Junior season an far more leverage if he cam back.
