Which ones have they lost?
-
That was me, but there’s always exceptions. Nothing against Benoit, but I’d like to see the classes represented to be a bit more spread out. As of now, it would be 1 Junior, 4 So, 3 Fr. Also, there would be 3 that either are inexperienced or not super high-end. I think it would be really beneficial to go that route.

I wrote this in the upcoming season thread. If you look at the projected defensive lineup, what would be most beneficial would be Benoit (Out) and a high-end RHD (in). 4 LHD / 4 RHD 6 no-doubt starters, Jubenville as 7th and Komzak as 8th. Pohlkamp would be the #1 ranked guy nationally if he entered. Game-changer. Let’s pump up the 1883 collective.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

His SV % that year was .935. Maybe it’s just a feeling. I felt they could win it all with him. I felt the same with Scheel. I don’t believe Persson could. -

You cannot win a title with Persson. He’s way too inconsistent. Sometimes you might just be your numbers. -
The Omaha weekend told me all I needed to know about the leadership of this team. They were never winning a tournament game.

Ideally, F15, F14 still are. They’ll get their shot when injuries impact the roster. Just to be clear, I’m not a fan of it. What I feel though is this is the reality of the situation in 2024. Adapt or you’ll have guys that regardless if we think it’s right or not are not happy with their situation, which will poison the room. Addition: For Berry, trust your recruiting, trust your roster construction. Fr. will have a learning curve, but stick with them. Come March, here’s to a team playing its best hockey. -

No, but I absolutely wouldn’t have brought back 13 for a 5th year. I also would not have played 11 in front of him. Ultimately my point is this. Play talent & develop talent. Construct your roster so that there are spots for guys like Montgomery X2 when looking at the F group. Two F’s that will only play in case of injuries. Great teammates, but have their role. -

I would hope they wouldn’t. The question I would pose is what Fr. would not develop because of the addition. What if Emerson got the minutes Ness / Albrecht got this year. Come March, what kind of impact could he have had? We’ll never know. -

Love all the projections, outside of Montgomery. In this age of college hockey, you need guys like him who know they are the 15F (or 8th D, 3rd G). I want him to return as 15F. I would make an argument that you actually need two these days (14th & 15th). Stack your Top 13. Play & develop them. Edit: Hope that Komzak is the D’s #8 guy & Benoit portals. Replace Benoit with a high-end RH veteran Dman w/ one year left. -

My ideal offseason. • With the exception of Jamernik, all other Gr. / 5th / SRs move on. • One of the FR D-man (Benoit / Komzak) Portal out. Think they need a better mix between classes • All others return (no pro contracts) • Add portal goalie. Want a true goalie competition next fall with Hedquist. • Add Portal D-man. High-end RH shot. Gr / Sr. -
Also interested in what needs to happen in the off-season. Proven returners: Eaglestaff, King, Kuljuhovic I have two questions. Which players on the current roster, that's aren't proven returners are expected to contribute next year? How many players and at what positions are needed from the portal?

Completely disappointed, but not surprised. Emotions are high, but it's disappointing to see people dropping their season tickets. Here's what I believe is fact, until Chaves is gone. Wins and losses, do not matter. Dropping season tickets won't matter. The best you can hope for is to ride it out, until he's gone. We're also in this very unique time in collegiate athletics where these programs need as much support as possible. I don't want to see the student-athlete suffer. Let's start the monthly NIL contributions, let this wave pass and wait to hear some good news. As far as the players themselves, I wouldn't think this would move the needle. Bubba was going to coach this year regardless.

Wouldn’t expect it any other way.

Great article, website is impressive. Easy to donate. Let's pump this thing up!

This would be my guess too. I think Blake has a legitimate chance to win it. Crazy to think it could come down to this weekend? One big night by one of the front-runners could be enough to push them over the top.
-
No way to know. This year versus Omaha. Persson: 11 Goals on 60 shots (0-3) Hedquist: 1 Goal on 22 shots (1-0) I'm probably the minority, but I actually feel more comfortable when Hedquist is in net. It's at least worth a deeper look. I'm sure it'll be Persson and hopefully we'll see that guy that can steal games for the stretch. I also hope that Hedquist is getting a fair look, based on play and it's not just pre-determined that Persson gets the net.
-
Anyone else want to see Hedquist in net on Friday?
-
I'm hoping for as little chaos as possible. Does that almost all hinge on Quinnipiac not winning the ECAC title? Watching for two things this weekend. Quinnipiac losing at some point this weekend and UND winning on Friday.
-
Want Omaha to lose tonight. Would Western stay ahead of Omaha if both lost? Think the best possible scenario would be CC / Western winning tonight.
-
My assumption is he wanted to play in college next year and that UND wanted him to play another year in the USHL.
-
Pretty easy dots to connect on this one. Wish him well!
-
I would tend to agree, although, when I originally sent, I didn't fully look into the ECAC situation. If Quinnipiac doesn't win the tournament, it goes to an auto-bid. Let's put that one at 50/50. There are 3 locks for HE, but 4 teams in that 14-19 spot. I'd put that at 30% that an auto-bid goes to one of those teams. Best guess is 14-16 are auto-bids. Omaha just can't finish 13.
-
What are we cheering for in the Omaha / CC series? Anything, but CC in 3? Top priority being UND being in the Sioux Falls regional. That can only not happen (being realistic) if Omaha finishes 13th or 14th (w/ an outside change of the 14th being picked off by an auto-bid). Might sound odd, but after last weekend, my ideal situation would be UND as the #1 seed and Omaha as the #3 seed in Sioux Falls.
