agree and in hockey its the goalie that can steal a game or 2. there isnt a team out there in any sport that doesnt have a few bad games per year and thats when you need the goalie to step up. there are many games left this season and i believe in eids. just want to see a bit more along with others in regards to his overall play. go eids and go sioux!
-
and then when it really counted in the frozen 4 we got worked 3 years in a row almost by BC and the goaltending wasnt anything close to brag about. jpl didnt steal many games until his senior season when he was flat out awesome. i agree eids needs to step up and win a couple games when the offense isnt clicking. goaltending isnt like recruiting a top notch forward or d man as many know. its such a different position and hope eids can turn it up a notch and get this team rolling im calling a start from Dell this weekend! book it just a hunch

this team had no clue how to play without genoway right away and it showed simply not being able to close out games since he went down and the record proves that. i know they dont show ice time a lot in college hockey but chay was a machine out there when you really take a step back and notice how much ice time he logged in all situations and especially in the last 8 minutes of many games in his career. the thing about eids is that he hasnt stole a game for the sioux. this goes back few years with the goalies and some nights when you arent going to get 3 or 4 which almost guarentees a win for the sioux behind BE you need your goalie to step up and win 3 or 4 games per year that way. im realistic and understand he cant perfect by any means and im also not as down on eids as many are around sioux nation either. i would like to see a couple games where the sioux only put up 1 or 2 goals to get a W and that means he steps his game up a level. slowly they are moving into the right direction while taking lumps along the way whch in the end could be very valuable or this team. ill say they pout a nice 3-4 weeks together vs this buzzsaw of a schedule. this doesnt mean they win every game vs 3 top ncaa teams but i think if they can get it going out east then they can bring that back and get ready for the tough wcha run. vv is a key guy that has to step his up for this team. hes way to talented not to be cashing in and with frattin back and a few games under his belt i hope that line can get rolling. hell all the sioux losses except last sat night vs gophers have been 1 goal losses. meaning the sioux are in every game pretty much but just need that extra defensive play/goal or a great stop at one end. when they start getting one of those things to happen then who knows what can happen with this team. cant wait to find out though and hope it starts out great in cornell!! go sioux, go eids!! and lets go boys!! show them some sioux hockey out east!

hf prospect reviews - florida Corban Knight, C - University of North Dakota 6'1, 180 lbs Acquired: 5th Round, 135th overall, 2009 Knight was due to rejoin his AJHL squad the Okotoks Oilers this season, but made the move to the NCAA when a spot opened up late with the Fighting Sioux. He had been scheduled to join UND in the fall of 2010. Like Birkholz, as a newcomer to a perennially competitive team, Knight is seeing little ice in his freshman season. He has also posted similar stats -- three goals in 20 games played. Knight is more comfortable in the offensive zone, and has the skill set of a scorer. Knight is out four to six weeks with an ankle injury, but his future next year and going forward is sound. Derrick LaPoint, D - University of North Dakota 6'3, 195 lbs Acquired: 4th Round, 116th overall, 2006 A major offensive contributor in the USHL, LaPoint has never quite become the same type of force in college. Still, in his junior year, LaPoint is having his most productive collegiate campaign to date. The 21-year-old has one goal and 11 assists in 24 games. His previous bests in assists and points were five and seven respectively, posted in his freshman year. With three freshmen on the Fighting Sioux blueline, LaPoint has moved into a more prominent role. He mans the power play and kills penalties, his only goal of the year coming shorthanded. He leads all UND defensemen in total points. Though less lanky than in year's past, LaPoint has definite issues with his mobility and defensive play.

may end up being be weak, may not be. we have no clue what maine will be next season as they have already moved up from how they played last year. they are down but im guessig that will turn around. notre dame is a funny team as they also could be dangerous when that time comes. i love that the sioux dont shy away and play the big named teams and will travel east unlike a couple other big time programs. hell the sioux go out east every season for some tough non conference play. fun for the fans and im sure the players love it

some bad USNTDP news http://www.westerncollegehockeyblog.com/ Fallon Leaves NTDP; Others Suspended by WCHBlog on Jan 19, 2010 10:32 AM PST 2 comments There's been a lot of speculation over the past week about the future of NTDP players Jacob Fallon, Jon Merrill, Kevin Clare, and Matt Nieto, who were allegedly suspended by the team for involvement in a sexual harrassment case at Pioneer High School.
