Spot on!!   How would you suggest to get more people?  Winning isn't always the answer, especially in gf.  The majority of people in gf have no clue und has a football team.  They need to market it and make it an event.

So true.  Need to make UND Football the Saturday event in Grand Forks.

    2.  What Bubba didn't say was that there will be an NBA Hall of Famer in the building this afternoon, as former Jazz great John Stockton is an assistant with MSU.

That is a fun fact! I was a big Jazz fan during the Stockton/Malone years, might need to go home sick.

I love the band too, heck I was in the band back in the day ... for football, hockey and basketball. Hockey seems to find a balance with the band, the other sports can too. In addition to football, what is the game day atmosphere like for basketball? It has been a long time since I have been up to GF for a game. Seems like they could turn those lights out too, and put a spotlight on the players during the intros; or do they currently do that?

I am not a sound engineer, but I assume the metal siding doesn't help the sound problem.

Campbell put UND baseball on the map last year with the home run derby, by taking 2 out of 3 from #12 USC, that puts UND on radar in the conference. If we keep getting big wins UND could be a recognizable team which is very hard to do up here. I also would love to see a new stadium in Grand Forks but only if it had a roof to play in the spring.

An upgraded baseball facility would be awesome.  Who knows, maybe Grand Forks can be home of a summer league like Fargo and now Bismarck.

When UND starts making the playoffs in football,  starts  making the NCAA tournament in men's basketball,  and wins a National title in hockey I don't think a lot of things are going to change until then.   I don't agree with that but I think that is the reality of it  .  Winning will cure a lot of things.     Fund raising will get easier , selling ads and marketing   the programs will be easier, selling tickets to football and basketball games  will be easier,  when we have success.      Just win!!!

I thought one of the major aspects of marketing was to promote a product, no matter how good or bad it may seem.  Seems marketing should have really increased during the lean years.

If you are OK potentially waiting forever :(

If that one is overly crowded, I like the one on Gateway...forget what its called.  Think its by Simplot?

Coming to GF this weekend for basketball/hockey, looking for a couple of interesting and good place to take kids (6&8) to eat.  Went to UND and come back once a year or so, I am familiar with the older restaurants ie: Italian Moon, Red Pepper and so on.  A couple of ideas would be great!

I would certainly recommend Rhombus Guys, after all what kid does not enjoy pizza? Other family options include Blue Moose, Spicy Pie, and Wild Hog.

    Breakfast, hands down Darcy's Cafe!

  8. My wife and I were having a conversation about the difference in sports marketing between NDSU & UND.  It just seems NDSU i so much better at promotions.  Just heard on the radio about a fan bus to Sioux Falls for the Summit League Tournament.  Yet, there has been no mention of a bus to the Target Center for the NCHC playoffs.  NDSU used to do caravans across the region to promote it's athletic programs. Also Fargo is painted basically painted green and yellow during homecoming, yet in Grand Forks it seems just another day.
