There were a couple of guys that you just wanted to shake and tell them to wake up. Then there was the guy who got it at the end of the season. He transferred to a school for the education and decided to give up football. He knew he couldn't play at the DI level. I'm pretty sure his family had a little money so he could afford to go to college without the football scholarship. Definitely a complex situation and each player has their own challenges.

he is now a walk on qb are ole miss

Their service wasn't always the fastest, but they had great bread and baked goods. Sad day for eating in Grand Forks - Dakota Harvest has closed its doors.

The business had been up for sale since January. I'm assuming they never found a buyer...also assuming the closure was not financially related. The last few times I was in there, it was just as busy as ever.

me and the wife loved going there on Sunday morningso and eating on the sidewalk. Hopefully, the space remains a locally owned restaurant.

up north pizza is doing a soft opening the next few nights...really nice work inside.

anyone know he eta on the coffee shop across the street

Ivery fan into the head chef of Up North a couple of times.  The pizza dough and sauce are all made in house, unlike some others in town. They also will also have a large hot sub collection.

If you mean football is the undisputed #2 sport on campus and in town, I agree with you. But we still need to make our basketball programs the best they can be. A trip to March Madness would be a huge publicity coup for the entire university.

Silly, everyone knows Football is #3, right after hockey and drinking! :silly:

  6. I think more stuff needs "University of North Dakota" instead of "North Dakota".

Most people around the country, if they know about UND, still associate it with Sioux

North Dakota Fighting Hawks could just be the name of some club or professional sports team in Fargo to outsiders

  7. 30-35 MPH seems perfectly fine on Belmont. There are too many houses, people, and narrow roads with street parking to cruise through there.

I live near 20th st south of 32nd and people just fly down that road due to a lack of traffic control devices.

  8. Slight change of topic, but went to school at Mid TN State, who plays BG the following week, as well as UND.  Looking forward to two straight weeks of BG losses! Let's get the season going already!

But don't you understand? NDSU is a big-time intercollegiate sports campus now! They are now in the same league as Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon and USC! :silly:

I'd like them to schedule a football game vs. Alabama so they can get a painful reminder of just how small-time they really are outside of our region.

    Roll Tide!

What I thought might be a nice read on one of our up-and-comers, Jill Morton, turned into a brutal read and an example of the ineptness of suburban Twin Cities media. Turns out Jill now plays for the "Lady Bison," according to the article below.

Seems Edina would have sent enough players to UND to at least get the correct nickname.

I have never been to a game in Grand Forks, but am considering making the trip this year.  Would appreciate any recommendations for places to stay, to partake of a pregame beverage or 2, etc.  Would love to see both teams undefeated heading into the game.  The Yotes go on the road in week 1 to New Mexico and host Weber State in week 2.

Any hotel along 42nd street would be fine, as they are all an easy walk to the Alerus Center.
