I wish UND would have invested more in the baseball program by building an attractive stadium similar to the Redhawks/NDSU facility. They could have actually charged admission and made it a fun, late spring family gathering. Who is to say GF could not have attracted some type of professional baseball or summer league team. Bismarck is getting a Northwoods team next year, why couldn't Grand Forks? Oh well.

But there is also an increase in online enrollment, which basically has very little cost to the University besides professor's time and technology infrastructure.

Or, other schools were better prepared to start with. Or, other schools don't receive near the sum of dollars that und is accustomed to receive and counts on. Or, other school may be managed better than the current state of und. Or, other schools will also be announcing specifics on how they are handling the cuts shortly.
Let's not assume that other schools in the state are not prepared or preparing. We both know that they all getting a reduction in funding, and all are preparing. It will hurt everyone in some fashion.
Other schools are preparing for a budget reduction, but yet no one else has made an announcement on what is being eliminated. NDSU did some presser a couple months ago, but it was very vague and most of it was about how these cuts will affect NDSU federal funding. Dickinson State is trimming $1 Million. No word from Minot State, Mayville, or the community colleges.

Here is one for the Vice President of Finance

Anyone know what NDSU and other schools are cutting? Seems like UND is becoming a poster child for the deficit, when all universities are required to do the same thing.

What is the minimum number of sports a D1 school must sponsor?
I think it is up to the conference affiliation and not NCAA. For example, BSU, UMD, & SCSU are all D2 except for hockey

I love baseball and hate to see it go away in the Grand Forks, but it is extremely difficult to be competitive on such a weather dependent sport in North Dakota.

And ESPN is supposed to be good for college hockey....
Like it or not, the Warriors will pull in a bigger audience than college hockey. BTW, anyone have the ratings for last night's game?

KFGO is in a vulnerable position losing NDSU athletics; they will be looking for something to plug that gap. If the best thing is NDSU, then the second-best thing is UND. Like I said, Karma is a beautiful thing. The shoe is on the other foot and we might be able to get a better deal because of that.
What else are they going to put on? MSU-Moorhead and Concordia?
Doesn't MSUM already have some deal with WDAY?

No. No. No. NO!
Bettie Page was objectified by a paternalistic, patriarchal, misogynistic society. To try to identify with that over-simplified, two-dimensional view of the complex feminine identity shows submission to the hegemony.
The preceding was The Sicatoka's translation of "Bettie Page? What? Really? You want to be compared to a '50s pin-up? That's how you want people to view you? Pretty shallow." into the language of academia.

Never fear, the letter writer and her equally elitist-crust hubby have one foot in the Twin Cities already and will be gone from UND by semester's end. Nothing to see here, and Good riddance.
It appears her husband is a 3L student, so she will likely stick around one more year. I guess he hasn't learned abusing 911 is a crime.

Man, someone certainly lives in a constant fear and paranoid.

Tickets on sale for UND's home CIT matchup

Tickets seem relatively cheap, but I don't expect a large crowd due to spring break.
