Had a 190lb fr MLB, due to injury to our studs, getting dragged every run play and Tank lost 30 lbs for some dumbass reason.
Rastas battled but almost felt bad for him. Not sure if he even started again after his fr year

No decision has been made.
Guessing some guys won't have their application in until late and want to understand where they might possibly rank before having the chance of their name being put out in public as a finalist.Wonder if there's a possibility of UND ending up with more than one names that's been mentioned with a second person filling a possible coordinator position, depending on who gets the head job and where they need to fill in the staff.
How accurate is Kelly here? I suppose it’s all speculation at this point…

Didn't Schmidt bring in Tillman, from Houston, who was one of the best players on D in 2014?
Yes, you are correct, forgot about that.

Not sure what you are saying is true. Looks like in 2014 UND had the number 1 ranked D in the Big Sky. The following year UND had the #1 rushing D in Big Sky that ranked #7 in the nation. I haven't looked at the following years yet but both those results show a way above average performance.

To score 30+ and lose a playoff game is such a joke.
The first half of the Weber State playoff game was the worst half of defense I had ever witnessed in my life. But then I watched the Sac State game, and that was even worse. Even if our defense were slightly below average instead of awful Bubba probably has 3 or 4 playoff wins.

In theory, I like the idea of both Freund or Schleusner. Both are young up-and-comers it seems and both have innovative offensive schemes and can probably develop QB's. My fear with either of them is that both would likely appoint a former UND player or assistant coach from their "era" as Defensive Coordinator. I think it is paramount that whoever the next guy is, installs a modern defense that is a total departure from what UND has basically been running since the early 90's.
I feel pretty strongly that for the UND FB Program to take a leap quickly, that the entire defensive staff needs a makeover..........
Absolutely. Worst case scenario for me in this process is if nothing changes on the defensive side of the ball. If anyone on that side is retained I will be very disappointed.

I already have the feeling they screwed this up and they haven’t even hired anybody yet.

I don't get why the excitement for a job you only get for a week and then possible unemployment?
The way they announced it was weird. It sounds like a lot of people think that it is more of a long term thing. My mind went there right away before I read the press release

Appears to be a player movement on X to #hirefruechte
NDSU players and former players did this with Roehl. In their case, I believe they made the correct decision to hire Polasek.
As for UND, I would prefer them not to hire Fruechte. If they do, he better not retain anyone on the defensive staff and start over on that side. -

All signs are really pointing to Travis Johansen being the guy.
The hype train is picking up steam, seems to be if not everyone’s first choice at the very least someone everyone likes the idea of.
Are we ready to have @The Sicatoka contact Chaves and tell him Siouxsports.com has endorsed Travis Johansen for the next head coach? @UND-FB-FAN @Oxbow6
I looked back at a poll in 2014, at it was slightly in favor in DeBoer. We definitely know what we are talking about

Kelly seems to think they are getting a lot of interest. -
Was there an interim coach when Muss was fired?

Does Fruechte have the connections to replace the current defensive staff? If for whatever reason the interim tag is removed and he is the guy his first decision needs to be to clean house on that side.

I would be all for Baldwin. With him you at least know we won’t see him coach scared in big games. His teams at EWU were super aggressive.
I bet we could be pretty good offensively right away with him, especially if he can retain a couple current players and with the portal likely being more flooded than usual. With his connections, might be able to put together a solid defensive staff.

I would agree but SDSU (San Diego) being crappy and lacking talent helps UND's case. Schmidt could be looking at 1) Next HC at UND or 2) next year as DC and potentially fired if that program doesn't turn it around. Never hurts to look more than your current pay check down the road. If SDSU had a winning record and top or improving D Schmidt probably not interested in UND at all.
You think Schmidt got the offer to go to Bama? If he did I imagine he wished he took it

Too bad they probably won’t release finalists this time. Then we could create a poll
