i'm not saying those guys don't exist (and they're getting more prevalent at the mid and low major levels) but coaching isn't like playing where if you're not good right away it probably means you won't ever be (or if you move along really slowly it means you aren't good)

he's not even 40 yet. 3 years as a HS coach, 4 years as a college assistant, and then 5 as a D2 head coach is a perfectly reasonable path.

He had what, 3 good seasons out of 7 at NDSU? And one of those was with Miles' players. And then he took over an Ohio program that had been one of the better mid major programs in the area and borderline ran it into the ground. You could argue he didn't get the support he needed, but he's also not going to get it here. I think he deserves credit for what he did his last two years at NDSU, but then you're banking on those two years being what he is rather than the rest of his career, which id rather not do.

the only name that has been thrown around that I would really be disappointed in would be Saul Phillips so that's who I am expecting

he and Boschee (Jeff) should be the top 2 on any candidate list in my opinion

replacing seales with a better point guard will be a huge boost. the young core is pretty good as well i think.

Jones should be fired immediately for not fouling when NDSU had the ball up 4 inside a minute, and then for taking a two instead of a three on the next possession, especially drawing one up for Seales who you know is going to take a terrible long two if it is there for him

can't say I blame either guy. Shanks isn't good enough to play on an ncaa tournament team and Bernstine is probably good enough to go up a tier. Plus I'm not going to kill a kid for taking advantage of the grad transfer rule. Sucks as a fan of UND I guess but good for the kids for having the rule.

seems like it would be smart to take a flyer on a guy like that rather than risking having to compete with every other team if he becomes a free agent (especially if you're not a chicago, toronto, etc)
