    UND would have beat the Jacks at the Alerus today had they played, I am very confident of that.

    Yes, remarkably, SDSU didn't bid on hosting, feel real bad for those kids. (Yes i know it is because their stadium is being renovated...how short sighted is that by the way?)

    must have been a pretty big blowout. I'm seeing some folks here talk down WIU's 24-7 victory.

    Nope wasn't a blowout.  It's not so much talking down the win as it the fact we her all the time on how superior the mvfc is.  The way most if you talk, they belong in the NFC north.  With all the hype we have been hearing, they have lost today to a big fluff and beat a non scholly team.   Nothing special

    you are correct sir.  24-7 winner over a non scholly team that was in the red zone their first 4 possessions fumbling at the 1, int at the 4 and int at the 19.  Not impressive!!!

    NDSU didn't need to thump their chest about beating a crappy FBS team in order to say "this is why we should be playoff eligible". You can argue that the 2010 team might have got in due to beating Kansas, but they had several wins over ranked teams that year and were never blown out.

    UND looked like a high school team against NDSU and Montana. They also played a relatively weak schedule. They were obviously not a slam dunk playoff team. You can say EIU did not deserve it. I'll give you that. With that being said WIU is definitely a better team than UND. They did not have a single cupcake Drake type team , which UND had, in order to get to 7 wins. They had a significantly harder schedule and beat 3 playoff teams.

    As big of a fan as I am of college hoops, I admit I don't keep up with und as much as I should.  I follow enough to consider myself dangerous.

    The one glaring weakness to me seems to be defense.  Coach jones doesn't preach it.  Never had that big in the middle that could alter or block shots or simply be "that" presence.   Plenty of guard play but no big play again.

    The real irony is fans on this board discounting every NDSU FBS win (even the K-State win) and trumpeting the UND win over a Wyoming team that is quite possibly the worst FBS team in the country this year. Fans on this board have been talking for years about how NDSU just knows how to schedule FBS teams at their weakest point and those wins mean nothing.

    Taking things to extreme !! Wow!!! Your the nut job that came here (on you biggest rivalries site) flexing your muscles about how Unds win over wyoming was nothing more then a win over the likes of mayville.  And again you keep digging and digging!!!  Now your in deep! You've used every angle possible to thump your chest.  we finally have a fbs win but you say ehhh....., I wouldn't call that a win over a fbs!!  Well %*#~ you!!!  Get the $!@$ out of here!  Go thump your chest at the jackrabbits site and their first fbs win over 0-11 Kansas

    I know I have heard it before. NDSU just knows how to schedule garbage FBS teams that have an entirely new roster. Not everybody can have a win against a Wyoming team with 3/4 of their roster freshmen on their resume as their "signature win".

    By the way, I'm sure Iowa will be losing all 22 starters this year so when the Bison play a respectable game against them next year they planned it that way. And in 2020 when they play Oregon, they will have an entirely new roster. 

     

     

     

    ndsu has one nice fbs win .... Kansas st... That's it!!!  And your right, ndsu did catch them in the their first game with an entirely new roster.  Also,  Unds roster is mostly freshmen and true sophomores, just like wyoming.  Unds true freshman tore up wyoming!   In fact, the score of the that game doesn't indicate how easy und manhandled them.  Very one sided.   So you have any other nonsense to bring to to this board???  Actually one more question... why are you even here????

    Beat any P5 conference team and get back to me. NDSU vs P5 conference teams is 5-2.

    Ha!!!  Again very funny. Those "p5" wins were against garbage!!  Combined 9-39 records..... Impressive???  Kansas?  Perennial dweller.  Minnesota when you played them, they were complete garbage.  Kill has recently has changed that.  Iowa st?? Ok!??  If you call those "nice" wins because they're p5, congrats!?!!?  And you lost to a non p5 wyoming.  Ha

    That's some funny stuff!! The last time I checked a fbs win is a fbs win, regardless of how bad they are.  Right?  By your account, ndsu shouldn't count the Kansas win(3-9) last place big 12, both minnesota wins( 1-11/ 3-9) last in big 10, and Iowa st (2-10) last in big12 as quality wins?  You have a Kansas st win as your only decent fbs win!  That's it!    Those 4 teams combined a 9-39 record!?  And you lost to wyoming in "08". Oops! 
     
    You say the fcs has become to watered down.  Are you then discrediting your championships?

    I think it's pretty clear that the committee doesn't put any thought in quality of win or wins, if they had, UND would be in over E Illinois. This goes back to he old saying " doesn't matter what you know but who you know".  Well UND didn't know the right people, E illinois did.  The chair for the committee is from the OVC and so is E Illinois.  He wanted two teams to be represented in th playoffs and he got it.  If UND was the last team left out and E Illinois was the last team in, its then apples to apples with the two teams comparisons.  Well when comparing the two teams, it's quite obvious they took quality of losses as the reason for them to be playoff bound!?  Losses????  Quality losses made you move on ????  It's how you lose that determines a teams destiny????  After listening to him ( committee chair) yesterday dance around the questions, I have no doubt that his political tongue was able to sway the committee.  And yes I'm still mad, mad as hell!!!  UND deserved this and were left out.  We've waited almost 10 years for a postseason experience and were denied because?........ Well E Illinois knows how to lose better the UND????
