  1. Had Bubba known earlier what the committees criteria was, he would of made sure to lose to wyoming and port st and beat idaho st and weber!  No great wins but great loses!  Damn it!!  Would of been nice to have known that before the games.   #quality losses

fyi2016 team, a little heads up, make sure to pull the starters for the bowling green game.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WIN!!!

  2. I looked at BG's roster. They have a WR named Lewis they are touting for the Bilentikoff Award and he's a Junior. But starting QB and leading Rusher are Sr's.

They fill the qb position with a senior that started the yr before and threw for some thing like 3500 yds  20 tds the yr before.   The backup rb 5'9" 205 is EXPLOSIVE and is actually better then the starter.  He should finish with about 750 yrds this yr.  That Lewis is 6'2" 200 soph who had 1050 yrds true fresh and will be about 1500 this yr  and a 6'3" 210 jun will be dynamite. Then add in Mighty Mouse 5'9" 175 jun and ouch!

  3. Next years home schedule is tough,  USD brings back nearly everyone and proved themselves in the mvfc.

    cal poly always reloads

SUU losses a few studs on d but return many important pieces.

weber st could be very good as they were getting better by the week this yr.  not sure who they lose.

NAU will be potent . Best qb in fcs?

The away games don't look as tough, maybe mont st and UNC?

Conference play doesn't include montana, port st, e wash and uc Davis.   3 huge games und won't play

bowling green will be incredibly difficult. Ave 400+ yrds passing and return top 3 receivers.  I believe they started 2 sen on offense.  They bring back two stud LBs and some DEs.

Id like to believe they could do some thing in the lines of 9-2. They will still be young next year but more experience and more motivated then last year.

  4. Any chance we have a couple all Americans this yr ??

I think both santiago and ratelle could be 3rd team-ish to honorable mention.  They both deserve some attention.

How about potential all Americans next yr and beyond:

santiago, cole, Grady will be 1st teamers at some point.  Those are the easy picks.

Taj if healthy could be honorable mention or maybe 3rd  if healthy next yr

Deion Harris could be honorable mention. Love the length

meindel will could be 2nd to 3rd

Iwarri is a special talent but not sure where they will keep him or put him but think he could be very special, if at the right position,

stockwell kept impressing me more every week and could be on there

tank Harris seems to have the "it" factor.  Could see him making some noise

missing anyone??  On that list 4 are currently fresh, 4 are sophomores and a jun!   Talent for many yrs!!!

  5. Again.........precedent? They only won 6 games.

6 wins qualifies a team for postseason.  Eastern illinois should be thanking the heavens above.  Not a decent win all yr but was credited for 4 "great" losses.  I feel und was above W illinois and miles ahead of e ill for an at large bid.

Is und the first team with 7 wins and a fbs win not to make the playoffs??

  6. Incoming recruit evan holm will have a chance to be in the 2 deep conversation.  Unds biggest need is to secure a talented qb in this class, then cb and wr.

Cloyd received an offer from sdsu after his verbal to und.

Austin Gordon looks good but he will be at best 3rd string as und is very talented there.

We are talking depth instead of replacing!   Und will be strong next yr.

  7. Committee made it fairly clear the quality of losses was more important than the quality of wins. WIU had better losses than us, and more of them, so obviously the committee couldn't turn them down.

exactly !   Committee: " und, we like the fbs win and the win at port st but look at the great losses e illinois had!!!!  They don't have a nice win but losses are fantastic!??????

  8. Although ratelle is irreplaceable, taj will be back and he an animal!!!  Love that guy!  When he went down, the entire defense wasn't as aggressive until the last couple games.  He's a difference maker.

The players that I could see being significant contributors next yr that did not play much or at all this yr and this is basing it off the practices I attended:

tim dulin- wr.  Looks like the real deal. Was hoping they pulled his shirt this yr.

Demon taylor -ol.  He played sparingly but have like him since his true fresh yr.

carl engwall- de.  He seems to carry a meanness to him.

Mason bennet- olb/ de.  He's been injured majority of the time he's been here but his hudl tape shows the size and quickness that have me intrigued.

There are not many holes to feel next yr as 10 starters return on d, 7 on offense and the kicker an punter are back.   Now were just adding depth!

  9. As down as I am right now, I think we can agree that bubba has this program on the rise!   We were THAT close!   With all the talent coming back I hope the kids will feel motivated to prove the doubters wrong.  Off season starts today, time to get to work.   7 true fresh played in the 2 deep and load of sophomores! Future is bright

  10. Cal Poly didn't hang with UNI... Unless you count losing 34-7 in the 4th as hanging with.

    Still nice win for und!

Ok what I meant was, N Iowa was not even close to being as dominant against cal poly then und was!  Und held cal poly to 300 yards under their average

  11.  Und just beat a very good team, I'm sorry, they didn't beat them they dominated them on their home field!! Cal poly has beat montana, hung with Arizona st hung with N Iowa.   Although und is very young, they are talented and hungry!!!  The last 3 weeks have proven that.  Und football is back!!

  12. Naturally, I hope our guys make it. They are playing their best football of the year and I hope that counts for something.

I am wondering if the conference is nationally viewed positively enough to warrant 4 teams. That is a big issue I think.

But, I also like to "follow the money" and if UND really has tossed a hefty bid out there, that should impress the committee.

Whatever the result, the truth is this team needed to hold a 4th quarter lead in one of two games and it would be out of the committee's hands. That said, Bubba Ball is working and IF this staff has another recruiting class as good as this one appears to be, the program is going to contend for titles.

And not just Big Sky titles!

The committee looks at the best teams!  Name on the jersey sways a lot votes but it shouldn't matter the conference.
