USD 38 your team 28

He's definitely a d1 athlete with his combination size and athleticism. Biggest issue I see is...toughness! It comes across at though he's very timid. If that is the case he would be eaten alive at any position on D. Playing D requires pure aggression. Make it count every time so they quit going your way. That is what I loved about the ratelle and taj combo......they made you think twice about coming up the middle

Beings this year is a lost year ....I looked who the potential starting 11 will be defensively next year. 3 DL austin- 6'4" 300 sen tank- 6'3" 300 sen mason 6'4" 245 jun LB Jade 6'2" 215 jun donnell 6'1" 235 jun noah 6'2" 235 fresh haas. 6'5" 230 soph CB deion 6'3" 200 sen evan 5'11" 180 jun or Torrey 6'1" 185 jun S tamas 6'0 200 sen Ty 6'2" 195 soph If half of those can remain healthy there is meat and experience. The young guys got plenty of playing time this year, which should bode well for next year 2nd stringers DL zeke 6'3" 240 fresh seguin 6'3" 275 fresh or greer 6'2" 290 sen carter 6'3" 235 jun LB tanner 6'1 225 sen cam 6'1" 225 soph jake 6'2" 220 ( hoping) soph Jaxson 6'2" 215 soph CB blubaugh 6'0" 190 soph either Torrey or Evan S canady 6'2" 200 soph ? Vashon ? 5'11" 190 jun This group gets a little lighter. The one thing with unds defense is when they are fairly healthy they are constantly rotating.....not able to that this year. Completely agree with your assessment of smash mouth. I believe if you are only going to have 3-4 base.... the DEs should be at least 250 lbs and the nose should be at least 290. Having a cupboard full of quick small LBs does not get it done with smash mouth. Right before Donnell got hurt in the misery st game , I happened to be watching him.....he went right off the backside of tank to fill a gap.....he was met there by a pulling OL....Donnell lit him up!!!! Nearly put him on his ass ....instead he just knocked him back 5-6 yards and made the tackle. That's what they are missing this year. Nobody left has the size and or attitude to make people move

Maybe tank on occasion but everyone else just runs around.....

Crazy top three were: One w/o fresh and two true fresh those three should be two years away at minimum from starting.
-
Yeah the upperclassmen as a whole have been busy being injured or underachieving. Dranka and Greeley have been nearly nonexistent. I really feel tank needs the weight that he lost and put it back on.
-
Nothing different. I think streveler will abuse their secondary. We shall see.
-
USD is a machine right now. Them and jmu are the best two teams in the fcs.

Just read through the spring ball and fall ball practices posts. Most everyone that attended a practice and or practices mentioned Zimmerman was the obvious choice for backup....a clear #2. We all noticed that but not the coaches!?!? Wtf!! Complete incompetent leadership on the offensive side. And your quote about the rbs....I feel the same, John and Brady have one year left. Their jun yr is wasted. I feel for Santiago and Brady as they give it their all every play. Someone on egriz mentioned they thought Santiago had a deflated look in his eyes. John needs to be put out in the slot and a JJ/ Brady combo at rb. He was recruited and practiced as a wr! I believe everyone on here has mentioned the Santiago out wide thing.....but Rudy is content on doing the things that haven't worked and keeps sending the 175 lb straight up the middle when the box is stacked. It's like when he looks at John, he sees a 6'2" 220 lb. Montana stacked 9 in the box!!....He sends him up the middle!?!?! The offense has been a mess for 3 and half years. Rudy needs to go ! I haven mentioned this numerous times ....the D was always able to bail out the O in years past ...they are unable to do that this year.. now Rudys "work" is amplified.

I have really liked sequin from the practices I've attented and he's a big thick dude. Ott needs to add at least 20 more lbs I love his twitch though.

With the new wave of injuries... und 3 montana 56
-
UND will have its hands full tomorrow . Montanas offense will keep a constant attack on the D...they know the weaknesses to exploit and have the talent to do it. Add to that, they're at home UNDs two wins have been against misery st and unc....those two are not perennial championship caliber teams....more like middle of the pack at best to bottom feeders in conf ..but a win is a win. Montana is just a different animal then those two. Und is simply not the team any of us imagine it would be. We thought we would have Connor, Cole, Deion, Donnell, Grady ( the all Americans) and many many more. Instead we have walk ons, 3rd stringers and true fresh starting at certain positions. Ugh The offense NEEDS to stay on the field....they cannot afford any three and outs. Studsrud is without question the leader of this team ....he needs to play like it's last game every game. I would love to see him audible out of 85% -100% of Rudolphs calls. I truly believe studsrud could be a top tier qb is the fcs if used right......let studsrud call the plays from the field....he has the game "feel" and smarts. Rudolph can go hang out at the beer stand. If UND can get any momentum and if they have adjusted to the injury front, maybe they can make some noise...hope so. But their bread and butter, ILB , just decimated! They just can not stop a decent team up the middle....frustrating as hell. Unfortunately I see UND losing by at least 3 tds. Would absolutely love to be wrong.

Right Go to cnn

Had to get your cnn moment in a UND football forum ?
-
-Bennett back -Cole should be back next week -cam finally playing -cox back -stockwell back -wanzek back -disterhaupt I'm thinking will back back next week -evan holm maybe The players and coaches needed this win to get some momentum back. Getting some of the injured players back combined with a refreshing/positive win is big. ILB is still just an ouch tho. The guys needed something positive to grab ahold of....hopefully this is it. Make it 2 in a row next week

Weird year for UND. They dominated that game but literally cannot get any bounces to go their way this year. UND dominated every statistic including turning it over rudpolh almost resembled an offensive coach today.....in the first half. Granted it was UNC, but it still looked alright. Then the second half happened .... he showed his true colors. Predictable and no in game adjustments. UNDs offense has almost looked alright against two very bad defenses ( Missouri st and UNC). Und needed this win to stop the bleeding Defense was all over their qb in the first half.....relentless!! James needs more touches....the guy can play. Rudolph disagrees.

For as much as I want to say .....I will try and keep it short. -This is is an embarrassment!! Nightmare season continues... -Personally I've never used but I don't condone usage like others...but dealing!?!? Are you fu$&@%# kidding me !!! Complete fools! They were very aware of what they were doing and the consequences. Fools!! -I have spoken with bubba numerous times and my boss knows him very well..bubba is as straight of arrow of a person that you will find. This must be tearing at him -So I guess having college paid for and the chance to play ball isn't enough for some. I just don't fu$&!?%# get it!! - Bubba is boss. Fait or unfair it rests on his shoulders. He needs to address quickly. - I will always support the team. Have for many years....through the good times and the bad times. As a fan, don't let bad apples ruin it for all the players that are dedicated and put in the time and effort...there are WAY more good then bad on this team.

Ugh

For sure

Measuring stick as to what the injuries have done. UND didn't lose to Utah by 50 ....they were an int away from having it be a one score game in the fourth qtr. mont st and UC Davis are not better then Utah... yet those two teams handed UND an ass whooping.
-
UND faired reasonably well against 4-0 Utah, ( would have been better if UND had an OC) and beat up crap team Missouri st in the same comparison to what ndsu did....actually UND made it look easier. Then the wheels fell off with the dizzying amount of injuries and Rudolph is still here
-
Last years class is loaded geibel blubaugh Noah zeke to name a few

How many next man ups is warranted as reasonable? Because UND is down to walk ons at ILB. I said earlier .. a team could do next man up if there was only 6 7 8 or 9 injuries to starters ....UND is nearly double that. If the hockey team sustained that amount of injuries how would they be? Tough to compare an NFL team with any college team.
