Agreed. Colgate looks for real. I thought they should be in the top 10.

They have given up 60 total combined yards the last two games.

They beat #5 seed jmu two years ago  in the playoffs to get to the elite 8

New Hampshire up on James Madison 28-10 right now. I didn't see that coming.

Jmu definitely not the same team as the last couple years that’s for sure.

A team that beat New Hampshire was Colgate (7-0 soon to be 8-0). Colgate has given up 6 points in the last 7 games , one of which includes New Hampshire.  They gave up 36 total yards last game and currently 34 total yards midway through the 4th of today’s game.  Their D has given up 2 total tds all year and those 2 came late in the 4th of the first game. Colgate made the elite 8 in “16”.   Colgate is not in the committees first top ten!?

  3.  Overall this year the run D hasn’t been up to snuff.  Seems as though teams are figuring out unds D.  They have adjusted and found success...namely in the middle where und is usually solid.

With a 3-4 the defenses live and die by the play of the nose. The nose should occupy a couple of O lineman’s attention and most importantly be a gap filler.  It’s essential that the NG be above par for the front seven to have success. If they aren’t the alpha that day ......it creates a potential mess in the middle of the D, particularly with the backers. Exhausting position

In the 90s Callahan was a man amongst men at this position and because of that....und D thrived.  Alone, neither tank or Greer are Callahan...together they are a good combo but recently they havent been the alpha.   Watched those two during the weber game.....neither was winning and Weber exposed it. They were rarely double teamed.  Doesn’t hurt that Weber has a competent OC that is able to recognize and adjust.   He called a great game that best fit the talent that he has.  I’ve said it before ....und doesn't win games if the D is having an off game.   They are not allowed to have a bad game as the offense cannot compensate.

I have preferred the 4-3 for a team that wants to play the power game.  Not advocating und changes schemes or styles just simply my preference.  In a 4-3 there are two DTs that are gap fillers.

NG and QB .....unds two biggest recruiting needs every year

Why is it that und has such undersized OLBs?  Speed?  I realize that speed at OLB is a necessary key component to a 3-4 but 225 lb should be the minimum weight out there as they are in hand to hand combat with 300 lb o lineman. With a program that wants to wear you out...200-210lb OLB don't seem to be the answer.

    * Mason is is an absolute stud...should be/better be all American this year

    * verde looked fantastic vs Weber.   Explosive player.  like his game

Idaho matches up very well with unds style of play.  Hope the guys bring their A game today.

I would take all three of their wide receiver units over our current. Would love to see what Kett could do with Hardin and Golladay

Fantastic duo. Add in Jameer....great trio.

Nate would have similar numbers as he does now.  Rudy would have Kenny in the backfield powering him up the middle and Hardin would be used on the occasional jet sweep.

You think they are ready to compete for a national championship?? Do you deep down feel und is right there to take home the gold?

Lets hear your thoughts on it ......post it with words not a cartoon pic

Its been way to fu@king long since und has been relevant .....frustrating as hell.

Watched UND FB from pool side cabana, definitely a new one for me.  I am being lazy and I am sure you guys caught it but most suprising to me was our D Line was manhandled, nothing works for the D when that happens.

Would prefer a 4-3 scheme. More meat up front.  If tank/Greer are off their game ....the entire front 7 is out of sync.  The LBs were not helping either.  Their o line is good....no sacks for und . Their rb is very quick and put together ....tough as nails. Ran with authority yet swiftness.

     Und isn’t ready

If you look at the game through statistics, Weber did have their worst game on special teams for the year. They also had their worst game defensively to an FCS opponent and their best game offensively to an FCS opponent. Since statistically they are the Best Defensive team in the Big Sky and the worst offensive team in the Big Sky, that would tell me that our offense wasn't that bad but our defense was poor.

I know you like to blame coaches for losses so given these stats, who is to blame for this one?

I gave und credit for 8 mins of a nice looking offense.....that will not cut it in the playoffs ( if they are to make it). They need a competent offense that’s capable of sustaining long drives and finishing those drives with points on a consensus basis (regardless of opponent) to succeed on the national scene and to become a true contender.

The glaring weakness on D is speed.  The lack of speed will not cut it in playoffs ( if they are to make it)  The D more often than not is pretty sound.  When they are off their game ...the offense is incapable of helping out.  The D is not allowed a bad game .....and when they do we witness Idaho st and Weber games.

Perhaps the biggest issue for both the O and D is the lack of adjusting.  This regime is extremely hard headed.  They resist the notion to adjust accordingly to how the game is being played. They set their plan A and thats that!!!   Playing a talented team and getting out played on both sides of the ball and no change.  They live and die with plan A.  That will not cut it in the playoffs.

Without question......Rudolph.  He’s been needing to be gone for 4 years now.
