Now that the seasons over, last year we could blame injuries and those heal. How much do we get to blame injuries this year?

I don't see much that says next year will be any better than this year. Everything was set up perfectly for this team to make the playoffs (including transfer QB and Running Back) and they didn't get there.

    Are more transfers the answer?

I think any team in the nation could blame injuries to a certain degree but it’s far from the problem. This coaching staff is extremely hard headed and won’t budge from their plan.  That is the problem.  Injuries or not would of changed the outcome this year

That is BS man, do you honestly think the coaches aren't working and trying to win?  I promise you they put in more time and effort than you ever have in your life.  Football coaches put in more time and effort than you could possibly know.

-You have to be coach Rudolph.

We're wasting the talent we have at rb. Imagine what our running game could be if we had a competent passing game to keep teams honest. The hope going on this year was that Kett would be better than Studsrud. Arm strength wise, yes, definite upgrade. But they share much the same problems, such as locking on to receivers and going through almost no progression. Teams therefore can load the box. We've had success on the ground because of the phenomenal running back talent.

A good OC would correct those problems.

Feel bad for Brady O. You could see how much he wanted it.

Thank you seniors for giving it your all when the coaches were giving it maybe 25%.  Feel bad for the young men.  They deserve better as the talent was there.

I agree with this that what staff UND has doesn't have any bearing on NDSU's national title run. However, stubborn and predicable play calling isn't exclusive to UND. NDSU;s OC and Klieman insisted on running the ball all day even though YSU was selling out on the run. They could have scored 40 points if they had let Stick air it out today. NDSU is lucky at times they have superior players. I really believe this was UND's opportunity to make a run. They had a very favorable non conference schedule and a very weak BSC schedule. I know many on this site like to poo poo the MVFC, but UND will find out how tough it really is week in and week out very soon. There are no Sac States and UNS's in the MVFC.

Und with this coaching staff gets throttled 3/4 of the games in the mvfc.

This was not the game to go all out bitching on Rudy. He had zero weapons left after Maag pulled his hammy or whatever.  They had two wideouts playing that have never, ever played before.

    But overall I understand.

I blame the Santiago injury on the coaching staff.   As much as he was probably advocating to get in the game ....no way he should of seen the field against sac.   That was easy peasy kindergarten level decisions and unfortunately a kindergarten decision was made to play him.

  7. Bubba wants a power team.  They are as close of being a power team as N Colo is.

Big sky is a finesse league and und was beat up in this league

hard headed coaches with non adjusting ways = Wrong recipe

Five years on “okness “ is enough!  One year of playoffs and zero playoff wins =sad and disappointing

Love you bubba but your loyalty and conservative nature caught up to you.  Its on you

The fact that Rudolph was hired in the first place is the thing that has always puzzled me. Only D2 experience before here and not even that sucesssful at that level.

Yup.... and 5 years later is still the OC?? Bubba loyalty at its best.

If the recruiting thing were true NDSU and Montana would never get a single commit.

Lol.  Every team would be fucked .

My post was said with 100% sarcasm . There was a post dedicated to only being sunshine and roses talk here  as people are watching what was said .

  10. I have a hard time believing that it took people this long to realize that the hard hearded, non adjusting, conservative style coaches were not cut out for run a d1,program.   Love bubba and wish he could retire here but as a fan I want to win. Being a  nice person is great ...a winning football program is better.   I would love for und football to be relevant . ( I got blasted for saying that last week too)

Remember...we need to watch what we say because potential recruits and their families are watching.

i'm still confused in our staff deciding to pass and not run out the time with the lead.

    The coaching staff is laughable.

Said it about 35 times last week and I got blasted about it ....und isn’t ready.    The talent is here ....coaching is not.   Bubbas loyalty has put und in a hole.   He will not rid of anyone he hired....now its on him.  The entire coaching staff need to walk.

These officials are utter garbage. They need to be reported to the Big Sky officiating HQ because this is trash. To me, to call that an incomplete pass is just trying to help out the home team. He had it in both hands fully secure, he was bringing it in and turning up field, the ball then got ripped out. Regardless of the recovery nonsense, calling that a no-catch is utter horse crap.

Bubba should be firing every expletive towards the refs.....cmon bubba !
