Und has played or will play 9 of their 10 games vs opposing defenses that are in the bottom 1/3 of the fcs....port st is next. The easy call is that Unds offense, injuries or not , will be ok or below average vs another soft big sky defense.
This years senior class was jipped out of the playoffs because of coaching. Santiagos talent was never like it was during his freshman year because of coaching. Und won zero playoff games for this seniors class because of coaching.
As a fan ...sick and tired of being average. Und has been average or below that for way to long. I expected zero from Rudy this year and once again he delivered. Five years!! Special teams was a atrocious ....and the D has been hit or miss
Any average team with the slightest of slightest hopes for the playoffs, its last home game of the season and the seniors farewell party should put away port st ...will und?
I will enjoy my beer on the catwalk heckling port st

Trying to understand your statement before I totally agree because I have thought the same things.
1) Agree that I am sickened for the players. Not sure if you are implying that not every player has put "everything" into the game. In the past that was a problem. Is it still a problem that not all the players are putting everything they have into the game and season? I don't know - just asking
2) Agree - but not just the seniors.
3) I think that the talent level is up. Not sure if we still don't have enough talent. Seems like we fall short in many places. Others smarter than I can offer opinions.
4) Agree - the season was wasted by a number of breakdowns and just by not being to execute routine plays.
I am down right now and wasn't even going to look at the forum for a while. Here I am again. I hope this makes sense.
I have always loved the way Brady plays ....just using him as an example. Also, I’m just referring to seniors in that post.
reason for the seniors comment ....this is it for them. 1 playoff game for their career is BS ....what a slap in the face
Thete are plenty of areas that need an upgrade at talent but there is enough talent at other positions for this team to be currently undefeated in vs fcs competition. Outside of a couple of matchups (ndsu and maybe SDSU) ....I believe a competent coaching staff could get this group to the semis
Speed is the biggest need for the team. From the backers to the safeties on D and the skilled positions on offense.

Im just sickened for players like Brady that puts everything he/they have into the game. These seniors deserved better. They have the talent this year and it’s been wasted.

Would hate to see a Cedric Case type recruit have an excuse not to come here, and some of the RS and other recruits as well. We all know how many transferred out after Muss was canned. Hate to see the team lose good players in a coaching regime change.
Bubbas loyalty will need a push from the AD. Pretty simple at this point ....option A (changes to his staff) or option B ( complete overhaul)

Kett seems to have all the tools but his development this season has been highly suspect. He knows where he is going based on the pre-snap read and never looks anyone off. The other part of the offense that is making me crazy is the play calling. So often we seem to run and when we should pass and pass when we should run. When was the last time our TE's were targeted more than once or twice in a game? They are part of the under-utilized weapons for sure.
Why take the deep shot to Maag yesterday with the lead in the 4th qtr?(plus he was hurt on play) It was starting to feel like idaho could not stop Brady from getting 10 yards on 3 runs. Stay with it.
Five years of it. I don’t get how he (Rudy) has kept his job. I’ve screamed and complained until I’ve been blue in the face.
The lack of TE usage is mind boggling. This style of offense is perfectly suited for TE usage. Cloyd was wide open by 30 yards in the 3rd qtr vs Weber and Kett threw it into triple coverage to Wanzek
Kett needs to be coached up. He locks on without a doubt. Wished he'd buck the current regime and use the TEs.

I believe und would be undefeated vs fcs competition if Rudolph was not the OC. Special teams has been atrocious and has added nothing, outside of two tds vs Weber, the D can take blame as well but the offensive side, now with a solid OL, is loaded with talent. In only two games has unds offense reached the average points allowed by an opposing teams D. Weber is the only team not giving up 30+ points a game.

Last home game, Portland st, is a hot team. Just missed out beating Idaho st last night.

I don't see much that says next year will be any better than this year. Everything was set up perfectly for this team to make the playoffs (including transfer QB and Running Back) and they didn't get there.
Are more transfers the answer?
I think any team in the nation could blame injuries to a certain degree but it’s far from the problem. This coaching staff is extremely hard headed and won’t budge from their plan. That is the problem. Injuries or not would of changed the outcome this year
