If you are a darling of the polls, which we currently are not.  Weber played JMU tough last season, that is what the pollsters know.  They beat E. Washington this year, the pollsters have heard of E Washington, big deal.

When we beat Weber, I bet Weber is still ranked ahead of us.

    Agreed.

It’s the name on the jersey not what you have done.

Also....anyone that can actually be competitive or more importantly beat the almighty UNI PANTHERS....should be immediately crowned champions. Or at least fast forwarded to the semis.  It’s an incredible feat to pull off.

All due respect to JJ and Brady, Santiago is our most dangerous offensive weapon. He does dance a bit too much at times, but if we limit his backfield carries I still want him to get 15-20 touches a game. I'm not sure I trust that would happen.

John reminds me a little bit of what it was like to watch Barry Sanders. Barry would take too many lost yardage plays trying to make something out of nothing, but on the next play would make 3 guys miss and bust one for 45 yards. At the end of the game he'd have 2 TDs and 135 yards.

When heathy ....if John was lined up outside ....he would/ could have numerous touches with sweeps and screens....showcasing his talent.  Right now the offense is flowing with Brady and JJ as the combo.  Adding Santiago out wide would be a nightmare for defenses. Wanzek on one side with John on the other with the bulldozers inside.  Santiago can always come in and get some touches as rb but like I said JJ and Brady have been killing it.  Having Kett has helped defenses back off the line a bit helping the O line and the RBs.  The safeties aren’t as well tuned into the trenches either.  By adding Santiago out wide ....he will have one safety and one cb occupying him.

    Probably not 2 field goals.

This is the game he will gain the coaches respect and fans....he will go 2/2 on fg and 3/3 xpt.

  4. I feel very good about this game.  Und is hot right now and it’s a home game.   If Weber had any kind of O I might think differently about the outcome.  Und 27-10.

Would it be safe to say Weber is our toughest opponent to date?

Defensively and ST they are superb

Offensively  they look average to poor.  They lost a lot of offensive talent off of last years team.

  6. JJ and Brady’s style is better suited for unds style.  They hit the hole without hesitation and can shoulder off a potential tackler or simply run them over in the trenches as where Santiago’s style ( home run hitter) , he dances around too much to find a opening. The holes are open for a minimal time....need to take advantage.   Santiago is obviously tremendously talented when healthy .....needs to be out wide with occasional backfield duty.

Just lacks top end speed or is he also not quick? For punt return, I'll take quick and shifty over a straight line sprinter.

That’s what I’ve seen ....not the top end speed but extremely shifty .   Tough as nails too

I think Leach should take a few days off. Clear his head. Get back to basics. It’s like a golfer who is in a slump. The best thing to do is not golf for a while instead of suffering from paralysis by analysis.

His career hasn’t started off well that’s for sure. Definitely a kickers mental block. But every aspect of the ST is crap.  Kick/ punt coverage, kick/ punt return, snaps, tackling, blocking, punter, kicker.  Cannot understand why Greibel is not on the return teams !?  With Santiago hurt ...Wanzek is returning punts?

We are so close to finally breaking the 20ppg allowed threshold. To me, that is the line between a good and really good defense. 15ppg is great. We have allowed 16.1 ppg vs FCS opponents on the year. We average 462 ypg and 29 ppg on offense this year, pretty amazing considering how terrible the offense looked in the first three games.

Weber has allowed 22.0 ppg this year, and 18.83 ppg to FCS opponents. They're a really solid defense. Offensively they only average 266 ypg which just sounds off. No way their offense is that bad. Their Utah game is a huge outlier, so, adjusting for that, they average 300 ypg on offense. Not all that impressive of yardage but they still average 25.4 ppg. They have some explosive guys that can house it on any given play but, make no mistake, they hang their hat on defense.

Weber’s D will show und what defenses are like outside of the big sky.  This will be a great test to see what und is able to do offensively  on the national scene.  If they can pound the ball and move it against Weber ...und is very capable of making a nice run into December.   Also....ST units need to put in 100 hr weeks to clean that sh*t up!

  10. This is an absolute must win for und. As it stands right now....und does not have a “quality” win.  The opponents combined record for their five wins is 16-26 with not a single playoff team.   Sam is 4-3 in a low end conf and Montana is 4-3....those two maybe, maybe have a slight chance at post season if they can win out.  But as right now ...they are both out.  After Weber, Unds three remaining games are against teams with no chance of playoffs.  Being independent, und will find no favors from the committee ....they need to win out (9-2) to assure a playoff spot.  Weber is legit and will be rated as a top 10 team coming into GF.

With the majority of the people that I attend the football games with going to Vegas, word around work that they will be in Vegas and with the students not attending ....I’m wondering how the crowd will be ?

Current rushing yardage: 466 yards and 4 TDS.

You’re great with numbers.  Those numbers are great.  Sac now has given up 41, 41, 48, 41 in four consecutive games.  If und had those numbers and score against a top ten team I would be thrilled.  If they can do that next week I will be thrilled.

I said it should be a blow out and called a 38-17 game ......nice win

somewhat agree...but those guys were out before the game started...plus nothing above excuses a red shirt junior throwing a garbage pick off his back foot, another junior fumbling at the one, and the absolute joke of special teams.

Those guys had nothing to do with the TOs but no way should und struggle offensively against a team that gives up 40 points 3 games in a row.   Sac is known to score a ton a points and give up a crap load of points.

injuries have zero to do with the score of this game or the quality either or lack there of

Tobin, Mortel and tanner are massive losses.  Und doesn’t have the quality depth to counter it.     If that left side was healthy the RBs would be behind them all day .  Tanner was everywhere on D and wa a leader.
