Well, we get to see the character of this team. Injuries, turnovers, and overall bad mistakes killer that first half where we were dominating on offense. Are we a mentally tough team? If so we win this second half by two scores.

Und doesn't have the privilege of quality next man up.  These knee injuries are adding up and it’s exposing und.  Not sure on the outcome of this game.   They should be killing sac if they were decent... the top 10 fcs teams would kill  sac st .

ISU goes for the onside kick after making it 41-34. Ball goes right through ISU players legs and is recovered by liberty. Liberty busts first play for a td. 48-34 to make it appear less competitive final score.

Dang.  I realize that liberty is an fbs team but now the Idaho st loss is starting to look more like a “bad” loss rather than a “quality” loss in the committees eyes.

  3. The defense has been lights out lately.....completely in sync!   They start and finish as the aggressor.....need the offense to mirror that.   If the offense can maintain the aggressiveness a full game ....und is a very good team.

Injuries that could have a big effect on today’s game:

Tobin-  was my choice for top OL the last couple years.  Nate should fill in nicely but the seasons starting two on the left side are out. Not what a team wants to see

Tanner -  he was a leader and was having a hell of a year. Big loss

Santiago- his bum knee limits his explosiveness.  Should play but won’t be himself

JJ-  looked as though he tweaked something (groin/hammy)in the 4th qtr vs Montana.   Might see some Weah today

shannon-  rolled his ankle, seemed a little gimpy.

I feel this game should be a blowout but it all comes down to the offense being aggressive and keeping the pedal down and of course the special teams.   I think #8 will have the offense ready...

    38-17 und

  4. NG is unquestionably the most important position in a 3-4 scheme.  They NEED to control the “A” gap and should require a double team, maybe triple team.  Keep the OL away from the backers.  It’s the most exhausting of any position as well.  They don’t usually have the best stats but are the catalyst behind the D being a good one to being great D. ....and und has a great combo of them. Let’s enjoy them this year.

And no to Greer starting. The coaches see both Tank and Greer in practice and have put both in position to succeed. They’ve both had great years. Replacing these two will be really tough next year.

Agreed.   Based on senior numbers alone this year .....there is a ton of talent returning next year.   Two positions take a big hit however .....RB and nose.  RB seems to be in good hands with JJ and Otis and perhaps McKinney?  But the nose ,IMO, will need a drop down.  Big big losses with Greer and tank.  Jalen is green and light.  Add in Austin at DE and und will lose the only three guys that are over 260 lbs.  The returnees (DL) need to gain some lbs  (namely jalen) and would like to see a drop down at nose.  Und could have a fantastic 2019 season just a little timid about the nose position.
