100% Said it a million times before but just look at him during a game. Lost! His game face shows no confidence and control. His actions than prove it. Instead of napping at meetings maybe he should nap during the game ?

Everything we question on here when it comes to in game decisions all rolls back into bubba and his hard head. He doesn't have the capability to change. In the midst of an embarrassing losing streak he still can’t make a change. Zero! Clueless. We have had years of non change and years of 7-5 and 6-6 play. Consistently stays with whats not working. But the guys were well prepared every week this year so there’s that anyways.

When looking at the fcs and the landscape of it. It’s pretty clear there is perennially four teams that matter. That has been the case for a decade now. Most decent teams move up. I have said it many times but they should adopt the fbs playoff system. Make it a four team or 8 team playoff system. Forget the AQ. The pioneer league teams are on par with a naia team. Yet they get a AQ? Lol. Useless. That’s my opinion of course Making the playoffs amounts to zero. Und has never advanced themselves in any meaningful matter after making the playoffs. Bubba thinks otherwise . His goal is to make it to the first round of a watered down system and bow out there. He then is happy and rewarded . That kind of mindset is why we are where we are today. Cannot expect anything outside of 7-5 record. Rinse and repeat every year. But as long as the gobc is happy that is all that matters at und. The bottom 3/4 of the fcs (100ish teams)teams are essentially d2 quality teams. Und is included. With bubba and the quality of recruits und would never win a D2 championship. Not sure they would sniff the semis actually. With bubba und will keep falling

Better facilities will not make bubba a better in game coach . Und is stuck in Averageville with him.

Same here. Had tickets for decades even through the muss mess. Haven’t purchased tickets the last years. Just went to a couple early season games and left at halftime due to combination of play and the ridiculous catwalk seating BS. Leaned on that catwalk rail since the place opened. Opposing players had the joy of listening to us all dame. Now…. It’s just deflating. Years ago …on any given Saturday we could have 20”ish” people grouped up. Lost a bunch 5 years ago and into covid. Two more guys said they won’t be renewing today. That leaves two ticket holders out of group as of today. I am an absolute und football addict …so it hurts not going and supporting the players. Attended a few spring and fall practices to see up close what kind of talent they will have. But I will say it’s been more relaxing on Saturday’s . Don’t have to witness the lostness of bubba. Since covid I had been screaming more at him than the opposing team. Wasn’t and isn’t fun. Decided to get away and go back when he’s gone. Or if he will ever be gone . See how many more extensions Chavez has in store for him. I am beyond frustrated at und “leadership” for athletics. Und has fallen so far behind all rival schools in every sport. I was hoping when I visited Siouxsports today I would find great news. Nope. Same ol same ol.

And that right there is und football in a nutshell. Romfro is not a D1 QB. However Bubbas hard head will continually roll with his/their decision and attempt ZERO changes even in losing streaks. Zero changes!! Why change when it’s not working !? If you really don’t think about it …it makes sense.

It will also be used for next year or however long Bubba.500 keeps getting extended. Thank you Mr chavez for keeping und irrelevant in the FCS world. It’s really great to constantly watch the other Dakota schools strive to be champions.

The best outcome would be if Und wouldn’t have to fire bubba …just transfer him over to the alumni center. They have the money to his salary. There is nobody on planet earth that loves und more. Perfect salesman for und. Create a new position and roll his pay,or portion of what he currently makes to that position. ???? He just can’t remain head coach. Bubba has und fb so far from removed from football relevancy. When looking at a map it’s very noticeable where the fcs power teams are….SD, ND and Montana. Und is in that circle of power. So then why is und never in the talk for a championship when every other single team that surrounds GF absolutely owns the fcs. Why? Constantly watching these “regional “ teams winning it all is beyond frustrating. If they can we can too. How that last extension was approved is mind boggling. The one before that was very questionable as well. Yet, here we are stuck with ….”well we can’t change it now …it is what it is ….only way to make change is pony up”. Most every person on this site, at work, family and neighbors were adamant of their displeasure for bubba ball. Been that way for years. So what is it that we saw for years that Chavez couldn’t see? Now we as fans have to pony up because of a decision made internally that has und fb falling way behind all the other surrounding fcs schools?? Please make it make sense A move needs to happen immediately. Losing the fans and players interest is not the best way to a winning ingredient. Winning cures a lot of problems. Namely recruiting and monetary issues. Recruiting is obvious. Players want to win and winning gets the attention of better recruits. Winning gives you national exposure….TV exposure….etc. For UND and GF ….winning brings in more fans and more fans means more ticket sales, merch, hotels , food...etc. Und CANNOT afford to keep falling behind. We are by far the little brother in the Dakotas and Montana. Und is on the bottom rung locally when it comes to recruiting prospects.

I know you have mentioned that numerous times about no one willing to ponie up …..but we weren’t/arent the problem. Bubba plateaued years ago and still gets extended. Does that fall on the alum and fans to right the ship ? That mistake fall solely on the AD. Now we have bail him out ?

SD won despite having 132 yards of penalties to 55 for und. They also lost the TO battle …one to zero. Home game for und. SD played an ok game. If these two teams played 10 times …SD wins 9 all day long. More than likely 10 but giving und benefit of doubt for one game ? Und is not in the same ballpark with the other Dakota schools. Und has to have every thing go just exactly right to be competitive. Today …Und had nearly all the intangibles in their favor and still failed. Told my wife today …..I need to think of something positive with und football. It’s been too many years of Americas funniest football in grand forks. It then occurred to me … if you’re a young individual that aspires to become a head coach at one point in your life ….please watch bubba and do the exact opposite. That’s as positive as can get.

Listened to the pregame talk show on 96.1. They interviewed bubba and he said defensively they need to get back to fundamentals on tackling …lol. Eleven years into coaching and the players just need fundamentals on how to tackle !?? Cmon !! What an insult to the previous players/winners at und. Don’t think the 2001 team needed fundamentals on how to tackle in game 11. Complete waste of money und is wasting on this guy as a head football coach. If the team needs to learn the fundamentals on how to tackle …well …no words. THAT fundamental staple should not have to be installed into a players psyche and will…. just a given. But I guess not at und. Question for Chavez…...can you look in the mirror and truly say ….you made the best decision for und football, und players and und fans ? Or did you make the best monetary decision? Easiest decision?

I want und to move on from the und connection. It has done absolutely nothing in the D1 era. I know you are advocating for Freund but I’m skeptical. My only positive with him is that he now has a year under his belt with a winning culture in sdsu….could that propel him in a positive direction ?? Possibly. The thing with is that he’s never experienced competency in a head coach or staff until this year. Too many years of “good enough” attitude. I just believe that his brain is wired with bad bubba influence for horrible in game decision making. I think he is an upgrade from bubba just unsure of how much ? Think he needs a good 5-10 year re-set from bubba ball to move up any higher than where he’s at now. I would like a national search. At some point und has to compete with the other Dakota schools and top 10 teams. There has to be a D2 coach that is having great success that is looking to climb the ladder. Perfectly fine with a proven d2 or NAIA coach that has a proven track record. Aka DeBoer . Nothing like what bubba had in D2 but an actual winner. Haven’t done any research so I couldn’t give a name If firing bubba tonight was a possibility I would take Freuchte. He isn’t a und connection. Yes he is the current und oc but with less than a year of the bubba influence ….my hope is that his mind hasn’t been altered to und reality. Think he has the fortitude and drive. He seems very confident and looks like he can connect with players ? Overall ….it looks like he “gets it”. Would he be the answer??? All of my opinions of course

South Dakota taking care of trash teams like Indian st 35-0 4 mins 3rd qtr. Indiana St had -2 rushing yards 129 total yards. Ass whooping again next week. Lucky for und today. Mason ….a qb for sdsu isn’t playing today but averages 10.4 carry and second leading rusher for them. Had he played they might have kicked unds ass …oh wait. .

Right on par for bubba ball. We get to witness some of the best uninspired no heart lack of confidence football on planet earth Couldn’t talk myself into going today. I was not happy in my decision and very frustrated I didn’t but the alternative on witnessing this in person was not worth it bubba showing his best for the cameras by wearing out his fingernails. Sad Und is so far removed from being a top 25 program. Not just this year but EVER!

IMO ..this photo was taken in part because the players /coaches are fed up with the entire situation and the fact that they cannot verbally speak out against it without repercussions? This was the outlet. Could this be another photo cropped or just a “timely” photo? Possibly but highly unlikely given some comments on here that seem to be fair and reasonable on the questioning of bubba and behind the scenes. In my own experience with talking to alumni that have played for bubba ….if there were negative comments …is was him not being a leader. Is this what they were referring to? Not sure but my guess is yes. *Given his track record this pic seems very plausible. Also. When people tell you to message Chavez or any other brass about your frustrations with the program …..that literally goes nowhere. This message board is mine and others only voice on our concerns. Writing or talking to someone in charge at und will not be heard. Think of how many messages, letters or verbal interactions they get/hear a month ? They can’t react on every single concern. They do what they think is best and have to live with that decision ….whether it was a horrible one or not. Then having a nobody like me speak up against it. In one ear and out the other. Money is the mover. It’s frustrating at so many levels. My love for UND football is swept aside with frustrating decisions to keep a coach thats shelf life expired 8 years ago. Yet I keep going to games and keep saying the same thing every year. That’s all I have. So I try and think how a player or coach could get their point across other than transferring out? I would guess they would be dealt with in the same manner. This person that took this photo possibly thought this was his only way …without confronting someone and having repercussions? Just my opinion.
