I don't follow MNHS close enough to confirm, but my understanding is the "recruits" are from Duluth, so really no different than what happens in the cities with parents getting an apartment or using a friend's address. Either way, they've wanted to go to UMD for the most part.

The difference is Hermantown puts out high end D1. There are a few D1 players from GF and Fargo that just haven't been blue blood caliber. Locals prop up their program more than ours.

Berry loves the program and is close with lots of alumni. He may have a financial incentive to stay through the end of his contract, but stepping aside with grace focused on minimizing the impact will go a long way to keeping the memory of his tenure how he ended the drought (rather than the business suits being overused, destination game busts, wasted hosted regionals, recruiting misses, trademark scandal, and more). I trust he will do the right thing.
