  1. I was being nice. His contract is four years? If he doesn't make the playoffs by then plenty of people will say he didn't have enough time with the players he recruited. It's all a guessing game right now how good UND will be....even four years from now.
  2. I don't see MafiaMan as my friend on my friends list but it says he is because there's the option to "remove him as a friend."
  3. Needs to make the playoffs within five years.
  4. Could he have been doing both? I see that was his title on the Iowa site but it also says he was "assistant coach." Who names there director of basketball operations an "assistant coach"? http://www.hawkeyesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/jones_brian00.html
  5. You also realize Jones was an assistant coach at a Big Ten school before coming to UND.
  6. He said names that make sense: Schmidt and Schlafke...looks like he already might be 0-1. Or maybe he likes names with "Sch..."
  7. I've been meaning to get on twitter. I think Schmidt would be a good addiction.
  8. Haven't seen a rumor he will be hired...unless you count this site.
  9. NDSU plucks coordinators/position coaches from conference foes. UND plucks from D2.
  10. Correct.
  11. You mean like the Iowa State Assistant Head Coach?
  12. App State and Georgia Southern no longer play FCS ball.
  13. Can't you do a response yourself?
  14. We have a guy who needs help in the clubhouse. I think he's lost it.
  15. So I had to read the Herds rant for nothing?
  16. Since every head coach at UND Football since gosh who knows when (1930s?) had previously worked at UND, you have to wonder if boosters are putting up money/buying out Mussmans contract with the hope/strong encouragement it would be former coaches coming back (bubba). With that said congrats Bubba. Hope you do well.
  17. Whatever conference the Bison are in.
  18. Would you be happier if he said nationally ranked university? All hail the "holiday tree" ha
  19. And if you want to talk crazy stupid intangibles, better looking people generally have more success. Don't shoot the messenger haha
  20. Not discrediting. Just disagreeing with "better resume." Both been head coaches once. "more year of success" basically because DeBoer is younger? He will continue to have "successful experience" as he gets older. All things consider they are equals right now. One coaches offense one coaches defense on the same team. And in conference play DeBoers offense ranks higher than Bubbas defense. One wrote "coach of the year" on his resume. One wrote "coach of the conference." One coach wrote "beat opponent from a higher classification on the road." The other had to leave off he lost to a lower classification team at home.
  21. .....Every head coach started as an assistant somewhere. And lots of good coaches move up divisions (Craig bohl, Brian Kelly). If only we all had a crystal ball.
  22. It's really hard to gauge how good a head coach would be based on being assistants or coordinators. It's more of a gamble so, My #1 criteria for hiring a head coach is proven good/great head coaching experience (see Dean Blais coaching high school when hired at UND) regardless of level.
  23. Can I ask the specifics? I'm guessing cause he led great UND defenses when he was here? Mussman led great UND offenses too. Or do we give both those credits to Lennon? But DeBoer led great teams over numerous years (regardless of division) I would think people would say that's more impressive. If anything i would say its a wash.
  24. You were criticizing the final two. Because of the travesty of a "national search". who's your favorite of who applied?
  25. Can't happen because based on "resume" DeBoers is better. Better offense than bubbas d at Sui and a better head coaching resume. Only difference is DeBoer didn't stop to be an assistant at a D2 school like bubba. His career path is moving on an upward path faster.
