This blue check mark hockey guy has a lot of good stuff on his twitter page about womens professional hockey. Worth a quick read for anyone interested.

The Lamoureux twins push to make professional womens hockey better. Opportunity to merge the two professional womens hockey leagues in North America. Which the NWHL admits to trying to do this past January. NHL teams have partnered with NWHL teams already to help support their operations. Womens Professional Basketball followed a similar path. It started out with a few independent leagues that went defunct, and then the NBA came in and said they'll start the WNBA.

Who would have ever thought (back when UND was thinking of transitioning to DI) the University of North Dakota would be in a Division I basketball conference in which a conference mate made it to the Sweet 16 in Women's Basketball! Amazing! Even more amazing is that it would be South Dakota State doing it! Nice run by the Jacks. I think a rising (conference) tide lifts all boats (as long as your name isn't "NDSU"). Same reason I cheer for NCHC schools. For comparison, (if my research is correct) no Big Sky womens basketball team has ever made it to the Sweet 16, especially not since the time the Dakotas started taking over and transforming the Summit League into a mid major power!

I could see them getting to the championship game, especially if the D and goaltending keep playing like they did this weekend. I'd pick Duluth (if I were to jump the gun) to beat them though if they faced off.

If AIC can beat SCSU so could DU.

I hope it's DU vs UMD for the natty.

Despite what some people will tell you. DU is a good team. As witnessed by being Top 10 all year in the Pairwise and now a Frozen Four berth.

Even AIC has a better PP than UND.

Wouldn't be surprised to see AIC pull off the upset. Lots of talk of parity and first round upsets. One of these years they'll do it back to back.

Didn't take long for the Big Ten to rub off on Notre Dame.

The committee usually "flips" close teams in some regionals for attendance purposes. Nothing new. Ain't like SCSU fans had a far distance to travel. Harvard traveled 50 miles to their regional. There will always be "home teams" (not hosting) in the east when the schools are so close together.
