  3. Admittedly only based on like three games of my observations, that's the order of importance the losses are to that team.
  4. Congrats to TOR for allowing TBL's entire fourth line to each get a goal tonight (Perry, Maroon, Bellemare).
  5. Seems tuition may not be a concern for Mr. Smallidge should there be mutual interest. https://www.nchchockey.com/news_article/show/1215585 Looks like Smallidge got caught in a numbers game in Omaha. They carried 9D. A couple freshmen (Pennington and Mancini) got 30+ games each. Knoepke came back as a fifth-year. They went Proctor, Scanlin, Knoepke, Krenzen, Mancini, Pennington (30+ games each) most nights. Next in was Johnny T at 24. Then Harrison and Smallidge at 8 each. And just as I post this someone else finds this "answer key". https://unothegateway.com/from-car-ride-to-concussion-omahas-jake-harrison-and-jason-smallidge-share-unique-bond-through-injury-plagued-season/
  6. I can argue both ways. One year rental: Bring in a one year top four guy and take a run at a green banner. The younger portion of the corps gets more time to ripen. Farmer (plus Hain and Senden) tells me what I need to know: this is the plan. Farmer is the right fit: right shot, and can cover if Jandric or Moore "make him like clothesline". - or - Guy with eligibility: A year from now Jandric is done. Frisch will be entertaining FA offers; OTT will be pressuring Kleven. And if Moore were to progress, who knows. Yes, there's a real scenario where the defense could be down to Johnson, Bast, (Sanderson's replacement), and (Ferner's replacement). In this scenario bringing in a guy with more than year (instead of Farmer) would make sense. But, now with Farmer here you're going to only get a fourth-pair guy because there's no minutes. What do I believe we'll be talking about in 12 months? Expected case: A year from now it'll be Moore, Johnson, Bast, (Ferner's replacement), and four well-rounded ready incoming freshmen. Best case: See Expected case but Frisch spends his Covid year at UND (I expect Kleven to go), which also means three freshmen (because one isn't ready). Worst case: Johnson, Bast, (Ferner's replacement), and four well-rounded ready incoming freshmen, and an upperclassman portal.
  7. I'm hearing SCSU is getting four of their possible fifth-years back, and a goalie from the OJHL.
  8. @Oxbow6 , that emoji doesn't mean "too much Old Mil and Taco Bell last night"? ... so THAT'S why I got all the 'congratulations' after bragging about downing a six pack and two seven-layer burritos.
  9. The story says they picked the new mascot that carries ... a white flag. Seems fitting.
  10. Johnson started the season hurt. Bast wasn't ready until second semester. (I feared that when I saw him in a USHL game that spring.) The coaches expected neither of those. Ferner was a nice insurance policy eighth defender that worked out massively well. Bravo coaches. You are right however, he earned the right to play. That's what you have to do if you're brought in as a fourth pair. But now with Johnson and Bast up to speed, even without Farmer he'd be seven at best (behind Frisch, Kleven, Jandric, Moore, Johnson, Bast).
  11. He was told that when he was originally brought in. He knew he was fourth pair from day one in Grand Forks. We only saw him because of injuries.
  12. Alex Heinert's 4 year old have your phone now? (I'm giving you benefit of doubt.)
  13. You're right. That game is still a nightmare.
  14. Right shot, eighth slot, ... the tuition angle is an interesting spin.
  15. This created the 16th forward slot this year. Without that, and carrying 16F as insurance, there wouldn't be a conversation at all. Last year they went 27: 15F/8D/4G; this year the 27: 16F/8D/3G, per Schlossman.
  16. If Hain wants to make @Oxbow6wrong I'm good with that, but I ain't expecting it. No bet.
  17. He turns 25 in August. I don't begrudge him starting the next phase (or phases) of his life. Thank you, Brady.
  18. The rest of this century for UND. This probably set unrealistic expectations as this is UND's statistically, historically abnormal run. 2000 – National Champion 2001 – National runner up 2002 – DNQ 2003 – L regional semi 2004 – L regional final 2005 – National runner up 2006 – Frozen Four 2007 – Frozen Four 2008 – Frozen Four 2009 – L regional semi 2010 – L regional semi 2011 – Frozen Four 2012 – L regional final 2013 – L regional final 2014 – Frozen Four 2015 – Frozen Four 2016 – National Champion
  19. You prefer I post images of a bunny with a pancake on its head?
  20. The open slot is in the fourth pair. Like the article said, Ferner wasn't supposed to play as much as he had to last season. If we're looking in May at least it's for an eighth D, ... and not August and trying to replace a number one center.
  21. That ship has sailed, water has gone over the dam and under the bridge, and the bridge was burned.
  22. Schlossman "speculates" they'll look to the portal for a right shot defender to replace Ferner. (R: Frisch, Farmer, Johnson; L: Kleven, Jandric, Moore, Bast) He also reports they'll run with a 16F/8D/3G roster this season.
