  1. Like I said after Friday: Frisch can direct traffic and call coverage all day, but if no one back checks and covers all he'll get for his trouble is a minus. At risk of repeating myself, 9 and 17 are defensive liabilities. Stats say 22 is no better. All are -9. They all need more team defense in their game. And who's out there with them most often? Our best defender, 15, who gets the -9 prize of being with them while trying to do it all defensively by himself (see above).
  2. Or maybe they're living in a pre-St. Thomas world still.
  3. Western's last goal: Four white shirts outside and below the dot. One lonely black shirt in the mid slot. One goalie on the clothesline. Whose man was it? Do they no longer teach team defensive zone coverage?
  4. He’d be the mentor and role model to the next generation.
  5. Then they need 25 to stay (doubtful) or convince 15 to stay for his Covid season and wear the C.
  6. Someone mentioned next year's defense Gone: 2, 3, 7 Could be gone: 15, 25 Returns: 4, 6, 24 <--the turnover trio (OK, they ice it unnecessarily also)
  7. The quiet parts are now going to be said: 9 and 17 are defensive liabilities. See: WMU seventh goal. Four white jerseys at the boards and a shooter sitting open in the slot. They need to be split up. 10 and 19 need to sit. Put in 18 and 26. At this point it's about next season's roster and seeing who can develop over the next 12 games. Our defensemen need to stay on their feet! One of the goals 24 and 3 were both down on the ice trying to block passes and instead hung out 1 worse as they slid through the play.
  8. Airlifted to Mayo right after his ENG.
  9. Which is surprising given the liberties most are given to hit him.
  10. Kleven never draws a call, even something that overt onto him.
  11. Kleven will probably get more than a game. If the league had any nerve it would sit Polin for the first hit on Kleven.
  12. Careful what you wish for: they might be deciding how long given it’s UND and Kleven.
  13. What is sad is on that play Frisch was directing traffic and calling coverage and they still left the trailer wide open.
  14. I believe we got a glimpse of the future last night: KG going over the play when they pulled, and Bubs and Dane looking lost off to the side.
  15. I’d like the Kleven hit from where Polin knocked him down to when Kleven earned the major.
  16. In a long gone time, the cross check to the back into the dasher before the man could get up would be a “drop the gloves and settle this” matter. Level field. Today Kleven took the dumb but only available recourse, that or keep receiving cheap shots. But you could see it: Polin and WMU knew they could get Kleven’s ire up and they did. Kleven went along and that’s his mistake. No. Actually, Kleven should’ve gone to Gopher school and stayed down after Polin’s cross check to the back into the dasher. Make the official do his job.
  17. We’re not getting a save when we need a save. Why do we need a save? Because the team defense is suspect at times.
  18. Yes, I struggled, but I went with truth, he’s not married, and information they have put to public view on the internet.
  19. Is this way, where you are not held accountable for actions, better?
  20. But is he? https://www.theknot.com/us/mark-senden-and-maddie-wolsmann-aug-2023
  21. Why is that an issue with some of you? Were you jilted? Back in the day Mal Parks was married with a child.
  22. WMU came in looking to irritate and disrupt UND from their game. It worked.
  23. I miss the days when Pulin would’ve been “asked” to man up and drop the gloves after the uncalled cross check in the back into the boards he put onto Kleven.
  24. Oh for the days when our PP/PK were "meh" and our save percentage was top ten.
