Any word on the status of Mankato's Stephenson? He missed their last series with a shoulder problem.

An E-7 in the US Navy is referred to as a _____ Petty Officer. The top financial person in a company is called the _____ financial officer. A flight attendant calling everyone in first class "chief" sounds equal opportunity to me.

stars: Getting strong DIIs to play games at UND (or NDSU for that matter) was difficult. Ask Roger Thomas about trying to get Carson-Newman to come in for a game sometime. Most IAAs want to be home (for the gate) or, if they go on the road, go for a major payday (even if it is a bodybag game). You can't blame them. It's all about the Benjamins.

Billy Mills is the man who was "offended" by a flight attendant who referred to him as "Chief." (SI article, March 4, 2002) The attendant did not know Mr. Mills is American Indian. The attendant referred to everyone in first class as "Chief."

Or will at least admit to it. It's a Midcontinent Cable town so it still has Fox Sports (North). There's your answer. I've frequented "a pub or two" in the capitol city and never had a problem finding the games.

Still, the NCC post-season champion garnering a regional five-seed, especially after knocking off the team that spent most of the season at #1 on their home court?
-
The way he played against Minnesota (85 minutes, 54 saves, 1 goal against) are you sure you want to face Montgomery right now either?
-
NDSU would have been top 25 last year in IAA attendance (and UND would have been top 30). Does that say good things for UND and NDSU or bad things for IAA attendance?

Bison FB broadcaster to Sioux FB broadcaster. Sioux hockey fan to "Gopher hockey fan." Republican to Democrat. Those are three felony level offenses, depending on who you ask. North Dakota needs, like California has, a "Three Strikes Law." Problem solved. ???

BisonMav: If you have "high-dollar" donation seats where the students are (save for an area immediately behind the visitor bench for visiting fans) do you really think those folks are as likely to create similar problems in the future? I don't believe the folks that can shell out the bucks for those type of seats are as likely to, let's just say, "go overboard."

What amazes me that is that, occassionally, 'Siouxrock' throws the nasty change-up like this to catch us off guard.
-
Blais? Yes. Brad Berry? Yes. Anybody else? Uh, no.
-
How about this? Move the students to the other side (away from the visitors). They'd still be court-side. Make part of the area for "visiting fans." How about right behind the visiting bench. Sell the rest of what is now "student seating" as high-dollar TeamMakers donations seats because they are close to the court and benches. Pretty simple, huh? Do we have to figure everything out for you. ???

Be nice to JBB. He may have just missed that. I'm trying to find the answers for him. He seems so interested in Sioux Athletics of late. Maybe he's becoming a closet fan. I'm accused of "selective hearing" all the time. For some reason, I never listen to it. (Ba-dump-bump ... ting!)

White Bear would be even stronger if Beaverson (in that link) wasn't at Green Bay this season. He would be a senior at WBL.

From Dale Lennon's bio:

I've tried to find the right answer and I've gotten two stories. You must have selective hearing (reading).

BisonMav: Thanks for the interest in Sioux hockey. Sorry, but none of UND's recruits for this coming fall are playing MSHSL hockey this season. You can find a "cheat sheet" of guys to watch (and where they have signed or verballed) at: http://members.aol.com/cheisenber/Recruit03.htm

As far as my remarks, yes, "more sensitive," because of history. The UND coach was sensitive of the alleged "Afro" comment because of her race, and because of history. Guess what, I knew I was on the edge. (See the comment. I was the one that first pointed it out.) If you folks think it's that bad, right here, right now, "Dear World, I apologize that statement. I'll watch myself more closely from now on." Can I expect the same of some NDSU fans attending events? Will others (some NDSU fans in this case) accept that they may be on (or beyond) the edge and start to watch themselves? Well, the first data point, MSU-Mankato to now, isn't good. The root cause in each situation is (sadly) unchanged. Again, I wish Mr. Taylor the best in handling it. By the way, GFC is "Grand Forks Central."

Oh tony, OK, you saw it, and I'll trust you, so it's (a) or (b). Are you media? If not, then (b) is still possible. Yes, reporting, objective reporting of fact, lends to credibility of a story. Both of us have proven to be far from objective. What happened? Who did it? Why didn't NDSU report it, all of it, to the media? WDAY-TV and KFGO-AM reported (Sunday night and Monday morning) that a letter of apology would be coming from the fan in question and NDSU Athletics to the University of North Dakota. As far as wording, ask Mr. Taylor how he'll be wording it. There has yet to be a challenge to the assertion that a male fan touched a female coach after the womens game. Even more ad hominem. The "TVFS" comment was to point out the flaw in the logic. Wouldn't the "hometown" newspaper just love to pile onto the hated rival, yet they miss the opportunity? I didn't ask a question. I stated a generalization that I expect the great majority of people that read it would agree with. For the record, "NDSU grad" referred to it with a "good point" comment. (I'll decline the chance to steal a page and excuse it away with "toughen up" and "show some class and dignity" as has been attempted with other statements.) You're so testy, tony. What's wrong? Either you are frustrated that NDSU has gotten this type of publicity twice in six months or, I'd guess, somebody either stole or maladjusted your new chair. Finally, something we agree on. And if you believe fans in Grand Forks are just as problematic (from your allegations) as those at NDSU (this event, the MSU-Mankato event), then have NDSU point things out in and to the media as UND did. Nothing changes otherwise. According to the Fargo Forum, Mr. Taylor will be looking at seating arrangements at NDSU.

With sincere apologies to ZZ Top for mangling a perfectly good lyric for my own purposes, I propose that UND start "playin' Russian (ice) roulette" and "load all six" as skaters. ??? Kidding. Go with the best looking one in practice this week and skate as a team in front of whomever it is.
