Well what'd they expect? You gotta keep that personal bartender on retainer even when you're working.

That would be good. Question: Are schools working deals with providers like Sirius or XM? Are conferences? Or are just networks (for example, Westwood One) working with providers and then going to get schools/conferences for broadcast?

From article: That is directly contradictory to what Fox News at Nine (from Fargo) sports reported last night. Their report stated that Fullerton was tasked with putting together examinations of both 10 and 12 team conference alignments. Who does one believe? I guess it's not just conference commissioners that we have to watch every word of.

All games are in "The Linc" in Philly and, based on recent history, they'll have plenty no matter who's playing.

This Saturday on ESPN2, National Semifinals: UMass and Maryland at 10:30 Central Syracuse and Virginia at 1:00 Central Winners play on Memorial Day at noon Central for the title on ESPN.

Dude, that quote was in an article last week. Old news. I trust Douple's words to the press as much as any other conference commissioner's.

Nate Miller on Twin Cities radio (earlier today) disagrees with you on the bolded point. He said Lindy Ruff won't put up with poor defensive play and that's why Vanek sits. In the clutch-and-grab NHL you could get away with one guy per shift being one-dimensional. In a wide-open game you need guys playing both O and D up and down the ice. Expect NHL teams to make picks based on that idea.

He must be a super-genius if he has the answer (May 22) before the question (May 23)!

And do you really want The Forum/ForumComm controlling what goes out about UND Athletics? They're the official mouthpiece, er, home of the Bison and I expect that wouldn't change one iota. That's how I hope Clear Channel ND sees it.
-
I believe that sentence should end with the words " ... in the daylight hours." Love 'em, hate 'em, Clear Channel has the majority of good licenses (powerful AMs and 100kW FMs) in the region.
-
Clear Channel has a lot of warts that come with it (programming requirements from the national office that have little or no clue about "local flavor" comes to mind). However, it does give the power of the two biggest AM "sticks" in ND (KFGO, KFYR) and a 100kW FM in Grand Forks.

That was post #863 of this thread. In #861 was mentioned a goalie for the Wellington Dukes named "Tony" as someone had overheard. In #862 "dagies" goes for a different name. Then comes #863 --> "colder". I'd say there's the answer.

Now it's July 1.

Look who's meeting again. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/14640396.htm

That, in my opinion, is still crap. Did the NCAA ever put that "June 1" date officially out to the membership? The on-line wasn't updated. Was it put out another way? If not, the old date (Sep 1?) should be used until the manuals are updated and distributed to members.
-
Of course they do. They are west of Buffalo (or is it Newark that's the benchmark, I forget). Grambling. No, Southern. No, Grambling! No, Southern! ..... Back to point: There will be future conference shake-ups. The Horizon took some very quiet and unexpected actions this week. 'Why?' is the key question. What do they know or forsee? 'star2city' took his estimation and speculation on the answer to the question. Isn't speculating 90% of this board's charm?

My 2004-05 manual says the eight-year thing was eliminated.

The logo has four feathers. The NCAA is all over the College of William and Mary for just two.

From the Commodore interview:
-
True. The way that group put it out there in their statements gave the odor of an intented disenfrancisement by naming a group who should not be allowed to vote. I should have been more specific.
-
So that means he's "Jon" and you're "Garfield"? Let me sum up how I see the BSC on May 23: No quorum = No action.

On: 1a) I doubt the Federal BIA will ever let a casino be built near GF. There won't be an election; however, 1b) The folks trying to disenfranchise anyone are wrong. 2) The council elections date is (de facto) set at state level (see "82SiouxGuy). Blame Bismarck. 3) How come Fargo never gets bashed as "anti-student"? Or Moorhead? Didn't the former Fargo chief of poh-leece there have something called "The Party Patrol" where he'd put cops on overtime on weekends just to bust up parties and roust houses around the NDSU campus and apartment neighborhoods? And Moorhead has doubled weekend patrols around MSU-Moorhead and Concordia campuses. They're crackin' down big-time.

Didn't I tell you it's coming. I'd say yes, definitely. Now that's just plain crazy-talk.
