  1. Who was the guy that kept telling you, when Jordan was recruited, that he isn't a "tip of the hat" to Zach or JP but a real, solid goalie with very good potential? Who was that again? What'd that guy say again? Oh yeah, something like, "Jordan may well go down in Sioux Hockey history as more significant than Zach."
  2. New Gopher Hockey team rules: - no more "tickets for cover" exchanges, only "sticks or other gear for cover" - any minors have to pay cover for non-minor fellow players they're with - recruits are no longer allowed to be the designated driver away from Blarney's (You know I'm kidding and picking on an easy target.)
  3. Does everyone who signs immediately go to the NHL? Do teams sign guys who can't do much more in college to develop in the minors, especially goalies? (How long was Ed Belfour down before he started winning Vezina's and Cups?) If you believe the average Sioux fan thinks Parise will have Martin Brodeur's job by November 1, you need to buy a better quality tin foil to make hats out of from now on.
  4. It is a tough decision (if it's even being looked at). Look at what DU went through in 1999. If DU has "weather concerns", what do we have in North Dakota? As far as upgrading Kraft or building a new field, would this really help UND recruit against Newman Field? Would $2.5 million really be DI calibre?
  5. Because of speculation by fans on an Internet board? I sure hope not. Prospects should be listening to this, not fans here:
  6. No, no. With this new "rock star" fame, he's going by "C-Kup." He'll be introducing a new line of fashion for the ladies very soon. The slogan is, "Every lady wants to fill out a C-Kup." PS - "Dirty" and "PCM" are again battling, this time to be C-Kup's agent.
  7. Depends on which river and where on it (meaning flood protected like the Red in Winnipeg).
  8. I have a feeling that this will not be the last we hear of this matter.
  9. Golf course? Nah. I'd rather have a lot in a cul-de-sac with trees and a river defining the backyard. PS - " 2,500-square-foot"? Did they forget to measure and add in the den?
  10. Agree. Agree, as long as "conditionally" means by the process defined in the contract. This is a legislative matter and it did not follow the legislative process for changes. UND argues "no." (From Dec 23, 2005, UND to NCAA correspondence):
  11. Let's recap: PCM brings up a series of articles written by an Illinois partisan, one of which borrows a quote from Tarkanian v. NCAA. IowaBison notes Tarkanian was overturned. I point out that this isn't a "state actor" case but a "contract law" case and that the NCAA Executive Committee may have overreached. IowaBison asks how so I answer. IowaBison points out NCAA constitution 4.1.2 and 2.6. Minor squabbling over POVs ensues. I point out 1.2 (a-h), all of 1.3, and 2.2.2, all of which show that ExecComm may have overreached. IowaBison jumps on the "tribal support" question (and is shown again that Spirit Lake stands by their 2000 resolution). IowaBison, why'd you leave the "contract law" question? And as far as the "support" question, from Spirit Lake Tribe A05-01-041 " ... something positive ... ", though clearly a subjective measure, may be occurring right here, right now, on this board (how's that for suckin' up to the Administrator?):
  12. Well, that's nice, but that's a "principle"; here are the expressly stated purposes of the organization,
  13. I'd guess you're very close given (from June 7, 2006):

Dear God! I think my mind's eye just went blind!
  15. The NCAA constitution is a contract between the NCAA and a member. From UND to NCAA, November 4, 2005, III.B.1:
  16. The NCAA isn't a state actor, but a legal contract between parties must be carried out.
  17. Mario Puzo has already written it.
  18. 17 will get you 20. 12 will get you life.
  19. 10? 12? I say 12 with a caveat: Only 11 playing football. Why? 12 for BB means: - six pairs of travel partners - 22 regular season games But only 11 playing FB means: - 10 games in conference - 5 home, 5 road There isn't much non-conference game room in that schedule, but it sure would be easy to plan travel expenses year to year.
  20. Make sure you get one of those licenses from "the Government of the United Nations" before you try any of this.

  22. I'm declaring victory with this prediction:
  23. What's the tizzy here about coming up with a facilities plan? Having a plan on what you'd build where and in what order (when funds come available) is far different from moving dirt and pouring foundations. And if you aren't a UND supporter, wouldn't UND doing unwise things be better for your cause? Couldn't another school (in a recruiting war) come back with, "You'll be paying for their mistakes with your fees"? Me-thinks some of this protestation is fear that UND may just have the funds available (from yet defined donors) to put some of this plan in action and thus take yet another significant step forward in a facilities "arms race."
  24. From Kupchella's June 7, 2006 letter:

Good cover story PCM, but truth is PCM locks out every channel but BET on his TVs in the summer. He adds Fighting Sioux Sports Network back in each October through March. (We're not sure if the rumors of him being a roadie for Mary J. Blige are true.)
