1. If true, that'd be newsworthy. I haven't seen it reported.
2. So who's starting the parent/off-spring list?
3. My sources tell me to expect no fewer than eight dots in total! Maybe even nine, but definitely no fewer than eight. And we'll all be happy ever after.
4. Lines for next year? There'll be a thin red one with a net sitting on it. Next there'll be a wide blue one, Then a wide, dashed, red one, Then another wide blue one, and finally Another narrow red one with the other net on it. That's all I'm willing to prognosticate at this point.
5. "Grousing"? Doesn't that involve "Goon", a shotgun, and September? There are folks that know more than they are saying here (that they've said in a PM or two to me). I won't break trust with them.
6. No, no, ... "transfers", for educational reasons primarily I'm sure.
7. There are three ways to meet Title IX. You've just hit on two of them. (This is where jimdahl comes in and refreshes my memory on subject.)
8. To me it's not if, it's when.
9. You always want 14-15 forwards on the roster because of injuries, illness, "Archibald" activities and/or "Prpich" events, slumps in play, and competiton in practice.
10. Time to critique how I've done so far. - Lee is gone - Hextall is now 2008 - "(plus same names that haven't been formally announced yet)" has become formally David Toews (OK, it was a gimme but I didn't want to say the name at the time and get people in trouble) - there's now a 2007 named "Brent Davidson" Seem like now it should be .... My predictions for incoming in fall of .... 2007 - Marto, LaPoint, Trupp, Malone, Frattin, Davidson 2008 - Eidsness, Blood, Gleason, Bruneteau, Cichy, Gregoire, Hextall, Toews My predicted 2007-2008 roster: G: Lamoureux, Grieco, Walski D: Chorney, Jones, Finley, Bina, Genoway, Marto, LaPoint F: Duncan, Oshie, Watkins, Kozek, Kaip, VandeVelde, Zajac, Martens, Miller, Forney, Radke, Trupp, Malone, Frattin, Davidson EDIT: Added Hextall in 2008. Good catch, brian.
11. Don't forget the WCHA league-wide guide too.
12. How soon we forget: The NCAA went after IUP, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Kupchella's alma mater), even though they were in the town of Indiana, PA, in Indiana County, PA, and called themselves the "Indians". Remember, an organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana, did this. Oh the irony.
13. Jamestown Jimmies. Then there are the ever-popular MIAC schools: St. Thomas Tommies St. John's Johnnies St. Olaf Oles
14. Have you tried to get a womens hockey media guide from the Athletic Department?
15. Goli didn't get rookie max money (about $850k) according to the PioPress. Are the Pens afraid of his shoulder?
16. How does Shepherd deal with fans that are abusive to his referees when those same fans can turn to him and say, "You've done the same to game officials."
17. Could be .... WCHA Sets "Duncan-Free" Zone DENVER, CO - WCHA commissioner Bruce McLeod today announced a zone to be added to WCHA ice surfaces. This "Duncan-free" zone is an area to the left of UND opponent goaltenders. The area is on the goalie's left from the center of the rink to the boards, from the top of the circle to the endboards. This initiative was started by 9 of the 10 WCHA coaches. UND coach Dave Hakstol opposed the move. "We hope this Duncan-free zone will allow WCHA goaltenders to sleep better at night, allowing them to be both better student and better athletes," Commissioner McLeod stated at the press conference announcing this change. Violations of the Duncan-free zone will trigger a two-minute bench minor that must be served by any team member named Duncan. The new rule goes into effect immediately.

18. I didn't spit in anyone's eye. Actually, I think I nearly agreed with someone who's been agreeing with you.
19. With the announcement of Brent Davidson, I guess I had the right notion but the wrong spot on the ice.
20. "Shay-shay" for the update! You should have "shing" and "shay-shay" figured out now.
21. Please excuse the spelling but ... Nee-how! If you want me to call say "Shing."
22. Yes, you are correct in that analysis. And having folks like Radke and Genoway (and Robbie Bina has played F in the WCHA) give some "margin for unexpected". I'm looking back further I guess in that Blais ran a roster with 8 defense and 15 forwards. Blais said that was best for the wide-open style (game and practice) that he ran. Hak seems to like to run with a smaller set than that. If he's good with that, well, it's his team.
23. Ask Tiger Woods' wife.
24. Pure speculation by me, but 7 defense and 14 forwards (Radke at forward, Hextall not until 2008) seems like a small roster. There isn't much room for an injury or two, plus good stiff competition for playing time, along the way. Given the potential departures at defense after this season, if another person is a late add (a project if you will) a defenseman seems like the right place.
25. O'Keefe's letter to Buning? Seen it. Read it. Old news. I was embarrassed for both recipient and sender. After reading it my question was, "Did Tim send one like it to Dave Hakstol after Dave by-passed Steve Johnson for open positions ... twice?" But I'm not "inside" so my take matters not. Oh well. (shrug) Like GeauxSioux said: At this point I could start another thread like the "Buning's Day Planner" thread of long ago, but I'm not "inside" to know that Buning needs to: - be working on DI schedules for 2008 and beyond including finding conference homes for the teams, - get coaches under contract for and through the transition in all sports, - continue to work on a facilities master plan so the teams have space to train, and most importantly, - create and implement a budget that will work for UND during the transition. The Bottom Line: Mr. Buning is either doing his job the way his superiors (President Kupchella and newly named VP for General Administration Phil Harmeson) expect him to, or he'll be gone. It's that simple.
