In my experiences, a LoA (when not directly requested by someone for personal or professional reasons) results from: "We're choosing to separate our employment relationship." "You're firing me?" "If you choose to look at it so abruptly, yes." "I've done nothing wrong. I'm going to sue you." "If that's your choice, fine, but if it is we're putting you on leave until the matter is resolved. Think it over." And it gets ugly from there. Do I know for sure what happened here? I'm not Tom Buning's physician, nor am I his boss.

I think your first sentence should say " ... hiring or firing ... "

From Laramie, seems to me Fort Collins (CSU) is about 70 miles away and Boulder (CU) is about 140 miles (and Denver is on the other side of both). They'd have a bigger impact than Wyoming State.

How many seats would sell for NDSU playing UND? We can safely say 19011 (UND in Fargodome). What if UND could get a "name" school for a game as a part of "weekend" of football and hockey? In reality, does an 11500 seat hockey arena seem practical in GF? But it works. Now, to contradict myself, no roof seems to me to be a bit of a problem given folks have gotten used to that feature.
