And that's before considering that MSU-Mankato is going down to NSIC scholarship levels.

Did I say they were moving to the Horseshoe? No .... I said they're choosing to showcase an actual spring sport before the (made up to appease folks who want to practice 12 months per year) spring football game.
-
That is not quite accurate. Last sweep at home: March 2007, WCHA playoffs, first round (two games over Mankato). Last regular season home sweep: October 6-7, 2006 vs. Quinnipiac Last regular season WCHA home sweep: March 3-4, 2006 (over Tech).

Coach Lennon starts in his back yard and works out. He wants guys with skill and integrity. Starting in his back yard (North Dakota) he'll work out from there. If he finds them in Wisconsin, great. In Minnesota, great. In Canada, great. In South Dakota, great. In Montana, great. Further out, great. He's going to find the skill and integrity guys that fit his program. I said this about Sioux Hockey, I guess I have to move this to Sioux Football now too: A team is not about where you all are from; A team is about where you all are, and where you all are going, together.

You're getting warmer .... How many natural playmakers, Creators, does this team have that can play at WCHA speed? I think they're named there. Miller gets pressured and he gives up the puck (see: lack of 2nd power play unit success). Vandy is in a getter role right now but has creator potential. Kozek is a natural sniper who has shown some Creator flashes. Who else? Maybe Frattin? Chay Genoway? I haven't seen enough of Forney to comment. The other guys are Getters or Shooters. This is where no Jonathan Toews really hurts.

Q: Where has ND's congressional delegation and governor been during this? A: Ask Jack Abramoff.

That's so telling it deserved repeating.

You need a creator, a getter, and a shooter. You need the creative playmaking guy, the vision guy, who moves the puck or does it himself when it's there. You need the boardman, the guy who goes to the corner and comes out with the puck. You need a guy with a natural scorer's touch, a pure shooter. You need a Creator, a Getter, and a Shooter: Hrkac, Joyce, Johnson: Tony was the creator, Bob Joyce was the shooter, Steve Johnson was able to serve the role of getter (but was a natural creator). Spiewak, Notermann, Hale: Not a prolific line by any stretch, but Spie created, Hale could go in and get it, and Notermann could hit the pipe from anywhere. Panzer, Bayda, Lundbohm: Jeff created, Bayda was a very good boardman, and Lundbohm just kept stretching twine. Yes, there are exceptions to this philosophy (like "Who was the Getter in Parise, Bochenski, Murray?"), but in general it holds. So, what are the real personalities of the guys on this team and how do you fit them together?

How many "soverign nations" have to have their constitutional changes reviewed and approved by the US Secretary of the Interior? Can I get Iran added under this policy? Ultimately, Ron McNeil (aka Ron His Horse Is Thunder) is a US citizen, just like me.

Not trying to justify leaving early, but how many of these folks have to work in the morning? And to make it worse, what if they have a 30-60 minute drive to get home? I know that's not everyone, but a weeknight is a weeknight.

Someone have an update v. Upper Iowa?
-
Where? On the left? Remember, based on picture 1 field is E/W. That means this picture has you looking SE (using lights and Memorial peaks as reference).

Looking at how close the east parking ramp and the stadium (north section) are, does 2nd Avenue North exist any longer in that rendering?
-
Seems DU could be a part of a record come springtime. Men's lacrosse to play at Ohio Stadium Seems one big football school is interested in lacrosse and causing fan interest in it.

Paid is what pays the bills. As far has how other folks count attendance ....

That'd be more .... Beeeeeeeee...Paddles. ... CLEAR! ... (wah-wump) .... beeeeeeeeep-beep-beep-beep-beep

Uh, ..... no. That's Ali, or Diggler.

I was going to go with "jaded", but "greedy" works.

Fixed your statement.

Today's DI reminder: The sub-classifications "FBS" and "FCS" (formerly DI-A and DI-AA) apply only, *only* to football. The "average attendance" rule only applies to maintaining FBS (DI-A) status and thus only applies to football attendance. You can average 404 fans per home game in MBB and remain DI (like Colgate did in 2004).
-
I didn't throw "top 50" out there by whim. I had the 2004 numbers and gave myself some margin. UND has a little gold mine in Hockey. Yes, future growth should next be targetted at football as that has potential, then BB. But you have to keep your base business healthy and thriving along the way. And if it's about creating new fans, you know my thoughts on a springtime activity ....

He got the title Deputy AD (and all that comes with it) after he applied when Roger Thomas left. He is the heir-apparent at Stanford. And I have it (admittedly third-hand) that his wife is not fond of the weather in North Dakota.
