Uh, no. But I do believe he was brought in to restore Minnesota Gopher football. And I do believe Maturi, the other piece of the scheduling puzzle you mention, brought him in to do it. The reigning BCS Champion (and the runner-up) played zero, no, FCS/DI-AA schools in 2006. Want BCS credibility? You must have the schedule that shows it. Having FCS/DI-AA schools on it takes away from it. Brewster, and Maturi, know it.

My next question: When new REA opened in 2001 each WCHA team had a banner on the south end above the club room. (They still each do.) One of the school names was horribly misspelled and has since been corrected. Reproduce that misspelling and you'll have answered the question.
-
Ulmer got called 8 seconds into the game. At 58 seconds into the game Mark Rycroft hit Jeff Panzer, who'd perfectly stationed himself along the boards in the northeast corner of old REA in a manner that he was an irresistable checking from behind target. Silly Rycroft couldn't resist.

First time I've seen that name. The others really held no surprises.

Fargo has the regional television and other media outlets and a very high level of shall we politely say "assuredness of itself" (to a fault in my opinion) that it will repeat to anyone anywhere. Given that, the pattern flows forth both positively, and unfortunately unnecessarily negatively (for some believe they can build themselves up by tearing others down). The reality that some choose this tact to tear down Grand Forks actually reflects worse upon themselves and their city. Grand Forks is a humble (and overquiet about itself to a fault) and hidden gem on the northern frontier. The point "ScottM" raises about comparable cities in the south or northeast is dead on.

Gene Taylor didn't come off very professionally in his criticisms of Brewster (for answering the "schedule the Bison" questions honestly) on KFGO on Wednesday. Taylor commented that this wasn't the time and place for those honest answers. I'd argue, no, Gene, it was. Fargo media asked. Brewster, trying to gain credibility with his constituency, had to answer them at that time and in the manner he did if that is going to be truth and reality for his program. That it doesn't align with your (Taylor's) and NDSU's agenda isn't Brewster's problem. If someone's to blame for bringing it up blame the lather you've whipped Fargo media into over the subject. But don't blame Brewster for being honest.

OK, smart boy .... Yes, a make-up call was made shortly after the ticky-tacky call against Jason Ulmer. Who for DU was called, who of the Sioux did he hit, and in which corner (compass direction) of old REA's rink was the hit?
-
You're all wimps! In a WCHA home first round playoff series, on a Friday, UND won 4-0 over DU, but Jason Ulmer got a DQ for checking from behind. In Saturday's Game 2, without Jason Ulmer, UND lost to DU 2-1 to force a third game. On Sunday, March 12, 2000, Jason Ulmer, coming off a one-game suspension, put up a 3 goal, 3 assist, 6 point, performance in a 9-4 victory to help UND move on to the WCHA Final Five and a Broadmoor Trophy. You'll get no easier question next time. Give me a while to think.

With due credit to President Chapman, he's accumulated quite a list of public figures he's drug into controversy (and survived) over the last 12 to 15 months: Potts-gate: Governor Hoeven Attorney General Stenejem (former) Chancellor Potts The ND SBoHE Sen. Ray Holmberg (former) President of Bismarck State Dunn-gate: Eddie Dunn JQ Paulsen The ND SBoHE attorney (Seaworth) The ND SBoHE The Fargodome Open-Meetings problem: Mayor of Fargo Wallacher Commissioner Linda Coates Commissioner Brad Wimmer JQ Paulsen Fargodome Commission I must compliment the consistent ability to survive such an impressive trail of controversy (or is it carnage?).
-
From the Seaworth memo (May 15, 2007, page 2): How did President Chapman learn of that meeting that quickly? And how did President Chapman learn the (alleged) discussions in it? Read this sentence again: "According to Ms. Adams, President Chapman said Chancellor Dunn informed President Paulsen that either President Chapman must apologize to him, or he will recommend termination of President Chapman's employment." How could President Chapman (allegedly) know what was said in a two-person meeting that he was not at? Think about it folks, there's an obvious solution and it's not that hard --> John Q. Paulsen. I wonder if John Q. Paulsen realizes he too now has been set up by President Chapman: - Paulsen is on record now as denying this account (last sentence of quote). - Yet Chapman got that "apologize or fired" story from somewhere (assumably Paulsen). Either Paulsen is not being forthcoming (terminable?) or Chapman made it all up (terminable?).

Dunn never supported the measure. He, as Paulson and the ND SBoHE, went from opposed to neutral (when the bill was amended). So do I categorize the Forum as inept and unable to read (it's plain in the Seaworth memo), or just a mouthpiece for Chapman?

I believe Lee Goren first committed (verbally) to Michigan Tech.

Like I said, .... Category: First game back after a one-game suspension. Question: Who in a Sioux jersey had the best offensive performance under those conditions, and what was their scoring line for that game? (Extra credit for the date and a link to a box score.)

After reading Pat Seaworth's memo to the board, and its soap opera attachments, I can only shake my head and long for the simpler days of Chapman/Potts. Did Eddie Dunn see himself (and Pat Seaworth) being set up for "the Potts" and take actions to protect his (their) integrity? I'm forced to say yes because the audio records point to Dunn's story being the accurate one. Note to self: Don't trade places with Bill Goetz any time soon. Note to Bill Goetz: It was all Potts' and Dunn's fault. Chapman's sure of it.
-
First it was Potts out to get him. Now it's Dunn (an NDSU guy he helped pick). I'm sure it'll be Bill Goetz next. For the record: I've never hired an attorney to represent me at a performance review.
-
Three separate and distinct comments: 1. Strictly my opinion, but it would be rather poor form to get what you wanted (the school to move to DI-AA/FCS) and then leave before ever playing a game. 2. I run a department. I wish I had control over my budget, staff, and schedules. My decisions are made three layers up for me. That's how it is in large organizations. I have to live with it, but do I like it .... 3. I'm not sure anyone would want the Montana State job right now. Who knows what you're walking in to; and imagine the microscope you'll be under.

A badger, four legged, not two legged, that had assumed room temperature. And for the record I had nothing with it to do. Ya can't prove nothin'!

Since Toews is gone Duncan is going to have a rough season
The Sicatoka replied to Goon's topic in Men's Hockey
This "7 and 9 make 16" crap (outside of math class) is just that. Oshie and Toews never played a game in the BCHL and yet, somehow, Duncan finished in the top three in scoring in that league one year. Explain that away. -
I will forever remember Ryan and Dan for their last ever college shift: - one stuck his stick into a passing lane (by reaching and not moving his feet) hoping to break up a pass that never happened - the other dogged it back down the ice and was of no consequence in the play (but had a great view to see the rebound buried) Thank you Tyler MacGregor. Back to our regularly scheduled thread: Grieco has to play enough in 2007-08 so he's ready to be the top guy in fall of 2008. As good as Eidsness may be he'll still be a freshman. If Eidsness can take the top job from a well-prepared guy all the better.
-
Methinks someone meant to post that in the "Lamoureux / Grieco" thread.

A plague has beset upon Fargo, and it's spread to the Fargo School Board. Legal notice of meeting not offered And folks on this board aren't the only who've noticed. [url=http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm?id=165192§ion=Opinion]Will state

Don't me wrong, I like the notion, but you know some would blast it as wholly disrespectful to (the Sioux and their feather ceremonies?, eagles?, Wakantonka?, the block ND logo?).

How are the weather conditions down there? I worry that hot, humid southern weather will take its toll on our northern team after a day or two. We're not used to it in May (like we are in August).
