Get in front of it, deal with it, let people know you've dealt with it. http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=91413

The word that applies that hasn't come up is disenfranchise. http://www.bing.com/Dictionary/search?q=define+disenfranchise&qpvt=define%3a+disenfranchised&FORM=DTPDIA Now normally that word means voting but, as you can see from the definition, it also applies when a legal right has been deprived, like in this case the folks who meant to sign a petition to get an issue on the ballot but who had that signature thrown out because the petition circulator refused to sign the affidavit authenticating it. North Dakotans who signed petitions (their right) that got thrown out, because others chose to perform illegal acts, were disenfranchised. Disenfranchisement is not a good thing.

Maybe the problem is people don't know what schadenfreude is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schadenfreude
-
A lot of fun was had by others at the expense of Matt Frattin and Dan Kristo. It's schadenfreude. And yes, we're just one lawn mower toss from from problems. So is everyone else. I believe what has the attention moreso than the actions of the student-athletes is the lecturing to the media ("it's over") and attempts to make the cause of the problems the victims from Bohl and Taylor. Toss in the "empty chair" Bresciani and reason for skepticm abounds. (And I haven't even reopened the issue of: What'll come of this to all NDUS schools at the next Legislative session.)

A week before his 21st birthday. Now voted most likely to not make the trip to Alaska for the season opening tournament.

Given the national exposure on this one, and the Secretary of State's position that he wants the voter fraud laws changed from a class A misdemeanor to a class C felony, how willing will the Cass County State's Attorney office (and their bosses in Bismarck) be to deal this one down to a lesser charge?
-
Thank you. No, it would've been the truth which must be welcome at all time. (And we don't need any Lt. Kaffey / Col. Jessup interactions here.)
-
I guess I didn't look closely and pay attention, but with (right-handed) Hendrickson in at QB was the offensive line, or at least the tackles, "flipped" based on blind-side protection? I know that last year's LT was playing RT in game one to protect (left-handed) Hanson's blind side. If the line was shuffled for week two based on blind side, yeah, I can see why UND may have had issues running the ball. If that was the case they should be able to work on that this week. Also, has Hanson's status changed? Would he be able to come in for a play or two if needed (rather than the other options)? The last report I heard was that he was on the sidelines at practice but without crutches.

I believe I predicted that this will be noted by the Legislature and certain forces (call them Carlson's Cadre) will use this mess to further their mission to eliminate the ND SBoHE and the concepts of "local control" by the universities. Yes, the State will take notice. This fiasco has just cost the State at least an extra $11,300 (I thought the radio said $15,000) because of the fraud foisted upon the State. This frugal Legislature will notice that. The State Emergency Commission agenda from Sep 10, 2012, has the Secretary of State asking for the extra funds to pay for the extra work from investigating the fraud on the petitions: Source: http://www.nd.gov/sos/emergencycommiss/Agendas/20120910-revised.pdf

Doing a full North Dakota search on Mr. Beck, "94 in a 65 mph zone"? We know why Bohl recruited him. How to search: 1. Start here: http://publicsearch.ndcourts.gov/default.aspx 2. Pick your range in drop down (from State to whichever municipality) 3. Click Criminal/Traffic 4. Last name, First name 5. Search button (at bottom).
-
Wait a minute. Does that say Beck's 06/06/2011 MIP was his second and this 7/23/2012 violation is his third alcohol related violation, or is that "2nd" just a note that 7/23/2012 is Beck's second?
-
So Beck will plead guild to a second MIP but in doing so gets the resisting charge dropped. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/373874/

McFeeley: " ... 'Silent' Dean Bresciani ... " McFeeley just pointed out that Bresciani got involved with changing sideline reporters for football but not involved with the voter fraud decisions. And now McFeeley just used the name "Jose Mohler" ... ouch.

Yes, UND fans have opinions. The ND Attorney General files charges.

Suspending for a game up front takes the teeth out of the tiger. Publicly stating that you're reserving the right to additional actions after the court date silences the crowd that says you're not taking it seriously enough. Taking that approach would've left no question as to motivations or who's in charge. Instead it seems that Bohl and Taylor are completely tone deaf to ND politics (much less the key message from Penn State: "Get out in front of it before it rolls over and crushes you.")
-
This one is pretty tough for Bohl and Taylor: - it's a second alcohol offense for the kid (class B misdemeanor) - he also resisted a law officer (is this a class A misdemeanor or a B misdemeanor?) - he hasn't been suspended - he's still on the team So which is it? Hard-core stance on misdemeanors meaning you're gone ala Jemison, or We're tough on fighting and booze (but not fraud) misdemeanors, or The "their day in court" misdemeanors. A second MIP, with a bonus, a resisting charge, hasn't kept this one off the field yet.
-
Yes, RMU was before the news broke; however, Bohl admitted at his press conference the Tuesday before the CSU game (three days after the RMU game) that he's known about this issue for a couple weeks. He could've sat them for RMU for a generic "violation of team rules". When this broke later he could've told everyone that he's already dealt with it while reserving the right to do more after their day in court.
-
How can Bresciani allow the word "fraud" to be associated with his institution in any manner without responding beyond a statement that he doesn't get involved in intra-department matters. Would Breciani be a passive observer if the 13 in question were all NDSU Student Senate members?
-
What would I do? I'd have suspended for the RMU game while reserving the right to enforce additional sanctions after their court date.

Were they hired over other applicants because of their local celebrity-athlete status?

Somewhere in the Legislative assembly a cabal will reassemble and restart their attempts to dissolve the ND SBoHE and the concepts of "local control" for universities in this State. This cabal tried recently and failed. This may renew their spiritis and give them the traction they need to succeed. Somewhere Al Carlson smiles.

Week 2: Potato Bowl 2012 - UND vs. Portland State
The Sicatoka replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in Football
San Diego State is now 1-1* after a 42-7 crush in SD of Army. I'm happy for SDSU and their big win over an overmatched opponent. Now SDSU gets to play an FCS school at home. Feel really, really confident going into next week SDSU. Overlook UND. *Lost at Washington 21-12 to open season. -
Of those charged at NDSU two are starting CBs and two are backup DBs. Tonight NDSU lost their starting SS to an ACL (season).* Given that development, there won't be "suspensions" unless a judge "applies" them in court on October 2. Coincidentally, that's NDSU Homecoming Week. *Wishes for a complete recovery to the lad. No one needs to suffer through life with a bad knee.
