sIoUxPeRsTiTiOuS Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 How's this? This guy's a bison troll. Put him on ignore like I just did. Go away, JBB. Quote
GoTAILS Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 This guy's a bison troll. Put him on ignore like I just did. Go away, JBB. This is 100% absolutely serious. A couple of my friends and I came up with this earlier this week. We're all hardcore UND fans but realize a name change is coming sooner or later. Think about it? --It would be a unique name - no other college in the US has it. --Sharptail grouse are native to ND and Minnesota, so there it a connection there. --Keep "Fighting" as a tie to the current name - even though what these grouse door is technically more dancing than fighting. --"Tails" is also a reference to Flickertails - UND's original name There are other advantages too! The Sicatoka Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Something people shoot to eat. That'd be about as silly as naming a team after something people raise just to kill and eat, like cattle or buffalo. Quote
Goon Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Great then we can have SharpTail Hunting. Why not just change the name from Sioux to the Prairie Chickens Quote
GoTAILS Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Great then we can have SharpTail Hunting. Why not just change the name from Sioux to the Prairie Chickens There is a connection! Grouse and Prairie chickens both have what? What is a prominent feature of the current Sioux logo? Imagine, as the Sharptails, students dressing up in feather costumes - doing the Sharptail strut while everyone in the crowd has their, uhhum, usual attire on?? That would be an odd picture! Quote

Goon Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 your dog is looking back at you saying the answer is FEATHERS - stupid human!* (* that was the dog!) My dog loves to hunt Sharpies. I am not sure that he would understand a jersey with a Sharptail on it. Quote
