PCM
The Thursday Grand Forks Herald has a good article by Virg Foss about Kevin Spiewak. It's well worth the read.
Taz Boy
Spiewak is truly a Fighting Sioux. taz

forecheck
Ditto to all of the above. That was a nice article about Kevin, and it makes me realize even more how much I'll miss watching the seniors from this team.
farce poobah
One of my favorite 9-year olds calls him Speedwhack "because he's speedy and he whacks the other team". And #26 is "Motorman", "because he motors by the defense". Together, perhaps the best pair of penalty killing forwards in the country. SiouxFanInBoston
As I read the prior post, Speedwhack SCORES (against Denver -- 2-3 DU in the 3rd)! A good sign -- Let's Go Sioux!!!
farce poobah
SCORES AGAIN! with 1:55 left in the third, to earn his club a valuable, precious point - and some momentum for Saturday. Talk about heart ... three sizes too big. Gotta love it.
kr
One of my favorite 9-year olds calls him Speedwhack "because he's speedy and he whacks the other team". One of my favorite 6 yr olds calls him the same thing, however, he really believes that Speedwhack is his last name -- we can't get him to say Kevin "Spiewak" -- he thinks that because he is so fast they gave him the name "speed". And you all know, kids say it like it is......
Taz Boy
Spiewak is educating the freshmen on what this is all about. What a performance! There has never been a game where I haven't marveled at his speed and determination. Add a gigantic heart and work ethic, and you have my choice for Hobey Baker. taz digs the speedster
Rick
He put on quite a display last night. He pretty much loaded the team on his back in the 3rd period. It was fun to watch. KR, you and"Mr electricity" should have made the trip.
PCM
While I admire and appreciate Kevin's efforts, I hope the rest of the team carries a bit more of the load tonight.
