Siouxdonyms
Matt Carle wins the 2006 Hobey Baker Award. Congratulations to all three Hobey finalists on great seasons. Now get to the Skills Competition!!
snaggles
I just watched the interview with Carle on espn news. He has done alright so far with the sharks. I believe he has 2 goals and 3 assists through six games. Congrats to Carle. Next year it will be T.J. BAKER.

Sioux Hockey Fanatic
Congrats to Matt Carle, but the guy that interviewed his mother should be slapped along side the head. What a jerk, the only thing he could think of to ask her was if she would be walking home. Of course that was before he was announced this years winner. puck swami
As I posted elsewhere, it must be nice to be Matt Carle. Let's see, two National Championship Rings, one World Junior Gold Medal, a Hobey Baker Award, a two-time first team all-American, a WCHA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, A two time all-WCHA First Teamer, INCH National Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, USCHO Player of the Year, An WCHA All-Academic Team selection, a $3 million dollar NHL contract and a goal in your first NHL game, and 3 points in your first six NHL Games, all before you are 22 years old. And he has a hot girlfriend, too. Nice writeup by the Sharks here, with pictures of Matt with his mom and girlfriend when you scroll to the bottom.... http://www.sjsharks.com/news/news.asp?story_id=2258

He dominated at the college level, and that usually precedes a solid pro career.

rushmore88
Kessle, Oshie, and Towes very well may have a shot at Hobey next year (assuming they all stay). Pavelski should have another great year too... too bad we won't be able to find out for an entire year! It's a good thing that final round (and most of the 3rd round!!) of The Masters is on today, or else this day would really suck. 6 months without college hockey = total bummer. Congratulations to Matt Carle!
