I guess we didn’t figure out how to slow down massner

Bigger issue was giving up too many 2nd opportunities in key moments where UND could have made the game interesting and then outside shooting was very poor. 5-21 from 3 isn't going to win very many games.

There needs to be a rule change on a player  backing down and bumping the defensive player

to me a bump needs to be a foul or else put a 3 second clock on the offensive player when backing down

the way it is now it gives too much advantage to the offensive plate

und wasn’t  prepared today for what reason I’m not sure , sort of like the Vikings, get your hopes up and then this

Norman was 0-3 from the three in the last game coming into today - he shot at least 40% from the three in the six games prior to that hardly a slump imo

It is enough for me to start going... uh oh. 1-10 from 3 in his last 2.

He'll figure it out, I'm not worried about that but... can he figure it out this year?

T played well (19 points, 13 rebounds)

Omot and Eaglestaff had some nice moments as well today.

Agree! Just the lack of energy and competitiveness was on full display today. A player scores 46 on you last time you played them and was on Sportscenter for it. You would think as a coaching staff, a team, and as individual players guarding him that you would take that personally and try shut him down.... nope we let him do whatever he wants and score 34.

Yup, that loss sealed the deal and UND is looking at either an 8 seed, 9 seed or 10 seed.

I think I would rather have UND be the 8 or 9 with potentially playing Oral Roberts than the 7 or 10 with the winner playing the Jacks.  We seen to match up better with ORU, plus avoiding playing SDSU in a home game for them would be much better.

It’s awful. Defender will only get the call if he flops but you will only get it one time. Flop again and you get the foul or flop technical.

It got nervy towards the end, but BJ Omot acted as the teams closer and UND got out of KC with a road win and series sweep of the Roos. Now its time to come home for the last two games of the season.  First up, the Leatherneck of Western Illinois.

The month of February hasn't been kind to WIU.  After they went on a heater in late January to get to 7-4 in the Summit, they have since crashed down to .500, losing 4 out of their last 5. With the league so compacted in the middle right now, a great or poor weekend could mean the difference between a 3 seed... and a 7 seed!

UND knows how dangerous Massner is, but UND has found their groove recently.

What is guaranteed in a win:

If UND wins, they cannot finish 10th.

What is guaranteed in a loss:

UND cannot get to the 6th seed.

Milestone Watch:

Norman still sits on 73 made 3s on the season.  He is 11 shy of tying Q for the UND D1 record for made 3s in a season.  If he can avoid a late season slump, he should break it sometime in Sioux Falls.

Other games to watch for UND seeding purposes (Thursday Edition)

ORU @ USD

Reason:  A USD loss and a UND win would have these two squads tied for 7th.

KC @ SDSU

Reason: A KC loss, USD loss and UND win would keep UNDs hopes for a 6 seed alive.

UND has been playing well in the month of February and with a larger sample size, one could argue that the prospects of the program is starting to turn.  This weekend will be a good test to see how far they have grown, especially against UST.  If they can get two wins and end the season winning 6 out of 7, you have to feel good about the direction things are going.

The Call:

The 11 AM start is going to be unique and whoever can handle it better will come away with the win.  Look for UND to do a better job against guarding Massner and look for UND to get Norman back on track.  I think the great play continues and UND makes it 5 out of their last 6.

UND 83-74

Game is on the ESPN... +

Best to the team during the final games this season.
