UND first half of the conference season ended with a thud as Idaho took over the game in the 2nd half.  UND will look to turn its fortunes around tonight as they host the Bobcats of MSU.

The Bobcats looked to be off to a strong start and looked the part of Big Sky contender.  Then the road trip to Portland and Sac State happened, and Montana happened... and NAU happened.  All of a sudden, they found themselves back at .500.  A win against SUU managed to stop the bleeding, but it has been a while since they have looked impressive.  In the first matchup against UND, they managed to bury several deep 3's and Hall played decently, but they never looked that impressive.  They too are looking to get things back going

First half review in 10 words:

It started ugly, the middle looked promising, and ended ugly.

Other Games:

Griz (9-0) @ UNC (5-4)

The Griz completed the first half of the season perfect and the thoughts of them running the table are not that far fetched.  UNC finds themselves in the hunt for a first round bye and a win against the top ranked Griz can put themselves in pretty good shape to stay in the hunt

EWU (6-3) @ SAC (3-5)

Possibly the surprise of the 1st half, the Eagles are once again in the hunt for a first round bye.  A tricky matchup against the Hornets awaits, as they will give any team fits.

Idaho (6-3) @ PSU (3-5)

The favorites had a couple of speed bumps but they too are in the first round bye conversation, but they need to step it up to challenge Montana.  PSU is what we thought they would be

Weber (6-2) @ SUU (2-7)

Weber needs to keep the Griz in their sights if they want that 1 seed (they need to be within 1 game before their match up at the end of the year.  SUU is still trying to make those next few strides.

ISU (4-4) @ NAU (1-8)

ISU has improved from seasons past and is still in striking distance of a first round bye.

The call:

Unless a minor miracle occurs, this team will be playing Day 1 in Reno.  Traditionally, Jones led teams find a way to get it going in February and are playing its best ball in March (minus that 14-15 season nonsense).  We have seen this team play well and are capable of catching fire, but they are also capable of what we have seen in the past few games.  I think the Bobcats struggles will continue tonight and the fact they are at home, UND will win a squeaker.

UND 73-71
