The soccer season begins tomorrow against USD..... UND to kick off 2011 season tomorrow hosting USD

The University of North Dakota soccer team will open its 2011 season tomorrow afternoon hosting South Dakota in a nonconference matchup at Bronson Field. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

"We are definitely excited," junior Rhaya Ballon said. "Preseason has been kind of long for us. I think we are just really excited about getting back on the field and playing again."

Hopefully the ladies will take it up where they were towards the end of last season before falling the championship game on penalty kicks.

Go Sioux!!

That's a good win. Stopped by on Friday and missed our goal- then saw their 2 to put them ahead. I had to leave before the conclusion of the game, but saw that they weren't able to draw even. Thought I may have been a bit of bad luck on Friday, so decided on other activities for Sunday. Glad it worked out. ;)

Sioux women beat a record-weak Delaware State (0-11-1) club last night 2-1 in double overtime in Dover to bring their own record to 4-5-2. The Sioux are now 1-0 in the conference. Rachael Loomis continues to be on a tear in her senior year, scoring both Sioux goals. By comparison, last year at this time, the Sioux record was 0-9-1. They didn't notch their fourth win of the season last year until almost November just before the Great West tournament. They are showing steady improvement! Go Sioux; beat South Carolina St. on Saturday!
