PCM Posted November 20, 2003 Author Posted November 20, 2003 How tall is Mapletoft? You'll have to ask the resident expert. All I know is that we could sure use Mapletoft on the power play. Quote

PCM Posted November 20, 2003 Author Posted November 20, 2003 Mapletoft is better than Parise (both of them) and Vanek combined. Quote

Smoggy Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Fine, I'm going to rock the boat. Am I the only one concerned about Tyler playing this weekend? There are so many forwards that are better. Earlier this year (was it Yale?) when Blais was talking about all the injuries before a game he said that Palmo had gotten injured. He also said he felt really bad for Palmo, because every time he starts playing well some fluke injury happens. I remember a few years ago DeMarchi ran him into the boards from behind and he missed most of the season with a neck injury. DeMarchi got a 2 game suspension. The way Blais was making it sound was that Palmo was playing great in practice and deserved to be playing in a game. I have no problem with a coach playing someone who works hard in practice. Hopefully it lights a fire in the player thats sitting. BTW, I heard from very reliable sources a few years ago that Palmo was Blais's whipping boy on the team. Quote
Smoggy Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Maybe so, but I think Canady has done well for himself as of late, so I would put the edge on him making the start at least on Friday. I am not sure if they bring extra players along with. If they do, Palmo will definitely be going and probably Fabian as well. I believe that you can only take a certain number of players on a trip. Didn't we try to fly someone in for a game because another player got injured and we weren't allowed to dress him? I believe this was a few years ago. Quote

sioux fan in phoenix Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Mapletoft is better than Parise (both of them) and Vanek combined. Speaking of which, there was a Mapletoft sighting at a local mall a couple days ago. He was signing his new book titled: Redwing, The Man who Made Me Famous at a School I've Never Heard of Before Quote
sioux fan in phoenix Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 I see that on the Sioux roster, Schneider is listed at 6-0, 215. I'm sure that's pretty close to reality. I was thinking that at one time, they had him listed as 6-1 or 6-2. There's no way he's that tall. I know what you're saying. It seems to me they had him listed at 6'1" or 2 when he first arrived at UND. I checked the archives at USCHO, though, & they had him listed at 6'0", 215 for all 3 years he's been here. Who knows, maybe we're both hallucinating Quote

Which binrgs about my next poll question: Can the Mapletoft thing be driven further into the ground? or How long can PCM kick a deac horse before PETA and first year law students get on his case? sioux fan in phoenix Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Which binrgs about my next poll question: Can the Mapletoft thing be driven further into the ground? No need to start a poll on that, as I'm pretty sure the answer is a resounding YES!! We're just jokin' with ya, you're a nice guy & bring a lot of positives to this board. Keep up the great work... redwing77 Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Let's just hope they all weren't drinking out of the same water bottle. I posted elsewhere that, evidentally, Canady isn't going. Lots of attrition from our lower lines. However, seeing how Prpich may not go, I'm thinking that Canady will attend this weekend. Who knows now. And according to my friend, Canady seems to be the whipping boy. Quote
sioux fan in phoenix Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 What makes you think Canady won't be going on the road trip? Quote
redwing77 Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 My coworker's friend talked to Canady and Canady said he wasn't making the trip. But with Prpich sick, I'm not so sure he didn't go anymore. Being that the info is third hand, there is a chance that the friend was wrong... I know my coworker well enough that he doesn't lie or twist info. Quote
