Goon
NWS just gave updated forecast for '10 flooding. Little better outlook than 2 weeks ago. In Fargo, 50% chance to reach 38 ft. (which frankly is not much to worry about) and 10% chance to reach 42 ft. Now we got issues!!! I think it will depend on how fast it gets warm... I am worried a bit... It's supposed to be warmer next week.
Sioux-cia
First time I have received this type of email from the state. They're certainly being pro-active. https://healthalert.nd.gov/public/Email/513...ofessionals.pdf
Sioux_Yeah_Yeah
Oh flood season, go away already. We don't want you here.
Goon
I have a bad feeling about this spring. The ditches are full of water already and I can't imagine what happens when it gets warmer.
Big A HG
I have a bad feeling about this spring. The ditches are full of water already and I can't imagine what happens when it gets warmer. Grab a case of beer, invite the neighbors over, and call it your new pool.
Dakota Dave
I'm travelling from Minneapolis to Bismarck tonight and just saw the update that I-94 has a few inches of water on it at Oriska. We ran into the same problem last Spring and the traffic jam was pretty severe, so I made my own (eastbound) daylight detour south and east, coming back up at Cassleton. It was pretty slick, but unfortunatley, this time I'll be Westbound with a toddler after nightfall , so I'm not feeling like the same risk taker. Maybe we'll just suffer through the slow-down of traffic at Oriska or take whatever detour ND-DOT puts up. But does anyone have any brilliant thoughts on other options, or what it might look like if a guy heads south at Cassleton and back up to I94 at Valley? xI Hammer Ix
I'm trying to make it to Fargo this weekend from Bismarck and am debating all the options. I hear there is at least 4" of water on the road at Oriska, with more coming obviously. I would imagine that the roads south of I94 in that area are not much better. Assuming you take Highway 46 that runs right by Kathryn which is supposed to be at a major flood risk again. It's a crap shoot, if I hear anything I'll let you know. This is 2010, aren't we supposed to have flying cars by now?

This is 2010, aren't we supposed to have flying cars by now? I would either stick with the Interstate or take alternate routes towards the north like through Grand Forks or Mayville. Roads south of Fargo aren't great and there are problems around Harwood around I-29 as the water is getting close to the road. 511 will keep you updated on roads. Drive safe.
