Goon
The students were still on break, so I'd say we had only about 50% of our usual idiocy. Because of that, much of the crowd was people who don't often get a chance to score a ticket, resulting in a more sedate group. Not to mention that due to Sioux' incredible in-your-face-constant-pressure defense, we were holding our breaths for much of the time. Heck, what was it? Eight minutes the whole weekend we had a lead? Can a Cornell guy be a Sioux fan? I'd love to wear one of those excellent black jersies while I watch on DirecTV... Why not? Lots of room in the UND fan base. I would recommend the 1987 retro. I also love my 1959 Retro with the Sammy Sioux on the sleeve.

OK, what's it take to get a game worn? Those store bought ones, well. Have you guys ever done a third, or in your case fourth jersey that you then auction off? Coach Schafer did a interesting one. He had a third jersey made and then had the players research every player who had previously worn his number. They had to come up with the player who they thought was most significant to wear that number. They put that nameplate on the jersey and wore them for a game. After the game the auctioned them off for charity. I bought #14 Lodboa, he was the MVP for us in 1970 undefeated NCAA. Scored a natural hat trick, including a 2 men down SH, in the finals. After all, I'm as old as he is. It's interesting to wear it at away games and see who comes up to talk. Anyway, I ramble, but what about game worn? farce poobah
The collective IQ here has dropped considerably. I'm here now, so its really gone into the basement. ... There are a handful of Eastern schools who've really committed to be competitive year in and year out, and Cornell is at the top of that list. (Maine, BC, BU, UNH...) So, yes I like any school who takes the game seriously, and would like to see them on the schedule more often (not that there's much room). AZSioux is one of our experts on jerseys, both game worn and replicas. He can help you with any questions. UND regularly auctions off game worn jerseys, and as AZ says they are not cheap. The least known players usually fetch several hundred dollars and a few stars have gone for several thousand dollars. I think the best game worn jersey story for UND was on the road. It happened at Maine when Shawn Walsh was sick. UND had special jerseys made just for the game. As the team skated out the fans at Maine realized all the jerseys had Walsh for a nameplate. They auctioned the jerseys off after the game and donated the money to cancer research if I remember correctly. It helped make UND fans out of a lot of Maine supporters. Thanks for the compliments regarding Cornell's program. Coming from a fan of a perennial powerhouse like North Dakota, those words mean something. RIT, despite being a relative newcomer and playing in an inferior conference, also meets your criteria albeit to a lesser degree. We've been competitive every year since making the transition to D-1 and have a fanbase/student section that rivals Cornell's. RIT games are a hot ticket in Rochester and we'd surely pack at least 10,000 fans into the Blue Cross Arena for a game or two against the Sioux.
