mikejm Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 We were usually above you several rows; thought the referee shirt and trenchcoat guys were nuts (and possibly dangerous) whatchutalkinabout, willis? Quote
jimdahl Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 NY Times mention as the Saturday event in News of Hockey: Denny Gunderson, the ice tender and Zamboni driver at the University of North Dakota, retires after 45 years on the job. Gunderson, 69, managed the ice for UND in three different buildings while the Fighting Sioux won five national championships. Quote
siouxforeverbaby Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 NY Times mention as the Saturday event in News of Hockey: That is cool that he got mention there.....he got mentioned in the Minot Daily.....the article that they stole from the Herald and put in their newspaper three days later! redwing77 Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Say what you will about Frattin's departure or the graduations but I think this departure is going to hurt the program the most.... at least short term. Quote
Big A HG Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Say what you will about Frattin's departure or the graduations but I think this departure is going to hurt the program the most.... at least short term. Really....not trying to be an a-hole here, but I'd like to know how or why. Or, were you just trying to say something nice? (no fault for that) I understand Denny has been with the program longer than pretty much anyone and has seen more from the UND hockey teams than almost anyone will ever see, but the guy drove a zamboni. Who would you rather have, Ryan Duncan for another year or Denny driving the zamboni another year? Quote
HeidiSioux62 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Denny's got to be the only zamboni driver in the history of hockey to have his own action figure. I hope the Sioux shop still has some left. I sit right above the zamboni door. It's going to be really wierd not seeing Denny right below us. I'm counting on Butch to step up and keep thing smooth.
