kfah1 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I agree. I'm happy with a 3 goal lead, but I'm not comfortable. I'm on board with that but the three goal lead definitely makes the beer go down better! Quote
greatest sioux fan Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Question. Does anybody know if the SOG include the goals, or is that just the saves? In other words if the Sioux have 38 SOG, does that include the 4 goals we have, or is it a total of 42 SOG, with 38 saves? Quote
OETKB Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I have to say, my optimism was peaked at the beginning of this game, because I haven't seen Hak this jazzed for a series since the Western Regionals a few years back. Granted, I haven't seen all of his interviews since then by far, but the point is that I knew he would have the team equally jacked for tonight. Like it or not, Hak is a "second half is what really matters" kind of coach. I fault it for him often, but at least he brings a lot of enthusiasm into the second half of each season. I say no let down happens in the 3rd and this goes down as one of the goofs' worst losses of the season. Quote

Sioux_Hab-it Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Anyone know why Sweeney was laughing at the end of the period? Too many swigs out of his nippy bottle? Quote
Chuck Schwartz Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 You guys are playing awesome tonight. First Sioux game I've got to see this season so far. I put a post up on the Badger Blog that I help write for, I think you guys will like it. P.S. how many slappers has Watkins taken tonight? Is that normal for him? Hell even when he had a break away he took a heater. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Looking at the replay of Gregoire's goal...great goal scorer's goal. Playing a strong stand-up goalie, and Gregoire waits until he sees the 5-hole open up as Kangas is coming across. Nice! Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Anyone know why Sweeney was laughing at the end of the period? I caught that too. A different announcer came on at the Ralph. loudly making some kind of statement that Pat could hardly talk over, so I thought perhaps that was it... Quote
greatest sioux fan Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Look like the Sioux are letting the goofers get back into the play, and they're laying off. I think they need to pick up the play and take it to them again. Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sioux need to pick it up. The seem to be sitting back. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 The seem to be sitting back. Standing still in their d-zone! Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Gophers trying to catch up on SOG. Keep the pressure on 'em, guys! Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Pat is reading this forum!!! He just said, "If you wondered what I was laughing at at the end of 2nd period,".. it was Woog talking to Gopher broadcasters in the next booth making some very colorful comments.... Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Doug just blamed the WJC for a couple of the guys being tired. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Need to pick it up guys. 60 minute game, not 40. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Doug just blamed the WJC for a couple of the guys being tired. You knew that was coming if they were down. That will come the next month everytime they're losing. Quote
kfah1 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Well... that certainly sucks... Gopher goal. Sioux playing too relaxed... is this a coaching issue to sit on the lead? I know UM will be coming out strong but it's certainly disappointting to see the boys playing like this in the 3rd. Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sioux have stopped skating, this is not looking good. Quote
sagard Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Doug just blamed the WJC for a couple of the guys being tired. Hardly surprising from Wooger. I hope the players don't make excuses for their efforts. Maybe my guys should try three defensemen on the PP. Quote
kfah1 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sioux escape another Goof PP. Now let's back into this... Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sioux have decided to let the Gophers catch up on SOG's. Quote
