StupidTbl4Life Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Ok. I was up for graduation last Friday and was driving around campus just reminiscing a little bit, and saw an ambulance parked outside a house with five police cars around it. I thought it was weird at the time. When we drove by again 2-3 hours later all the cars and the ambulance was still there. There were a bunch of girls standing around by it (it was by a sorority) so we asked them what happened. They said that they saw a body being wheeled out in a body bag. The stretcher was put into the ambulance and it drove off without it's lights on. I've checked every day in the GF Herald, but there has been no mention of any incident. Does anyone know what happened?

Does anyone know what happened? The media doesn't typically do news stories on suicides. I have no knowledge of the incident listed above. But, according to my close ties in the media, if something like what is described above takes place (ambulances, police, body on stretcher) and you don't hear about it in the media soon after, you can almost always assume it was the product of a self-inflicted act. The media monitor police radios and scanners pretty well at all hours of the day. They also check police logs daily. So, a criminal or suspicious incident that leads to death typically doesn't fall through the cracks.
dmksioux Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Have we gotten any clarificaiton yet? Teeder is correct in his assumption. Out of respect for friends and family, I do not think any other information needs to be shared here.
StupidTbl4Life Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 ok. I didn't mean to be inconsiderate. I was just curious as to what happened.

NDrun262 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 This was in the Bismarck Tribune this morning. It is a tragedy when these things happen. For everyone involved. NDrun262 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 What? I was wondering if anyone knew anything it could have been anything. What are you the message board police? It is a legit question. If this is correct (and it isn't confirmed yet) this would be the daughter of Mike Thorson, Head Coach of U Mary track and field.
Goon Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 If this is correct (and it isn't confirmed yet) this would be the daughter of Mike Thorson, Head Coach of U Mary track and field. Sad and tragic. Such a young age.

The Sicatoka Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Yesterday, the pastor of Cathedral of the Holy Spirit (in Bismarck) asked parishoners to pray for the family of a UND student and member of the parish who'd taken her own life. If you are troubled, this may seem like the answer. It is not. It's never as bad as it seems. Talk to someone, anyone. Please. Now, out of good taste, and deference to that family, I think this subject is now closed.
