Thundar, NDSU's mascot, is one of the finalists for Capitol One's Mascot Challenge this year, with the likes of the mascots from schools such as UCLA, NCSU, Tennessee and others. I haven't been around much lately, so this may have come up already, but for those that didn't know, I figured you might be interested. If I had thought about it, given the resemblance of their logo to the Wizard of Oz's Cowardly Lion, I would have guessed that he was their mascot. We do have a Smokey and Cocky though. But the NCAA can't control who advertises during their events.(it's a joke) And FWIW, they spell it Thundar. Is that Australian?
