  1. Just exercising my free speech to state the facts....Nothing personal
  2. Non morons call it a rebuilding year, pretty stupid to think teams never rebuild only improve every and year forever and ever...this board needs an IQ requirement for posters.
  3. nothing here about having to win Big Sky Title or never having a rebuilding year....sorry fellas....In July 2012, Jones received a three-year extension with two option years. Jones has been UND's head coach for seven seasons. Last season, in UND's first year in the Big Sky Conference, Jones led UND to a 12-8 conference record and a third-place finish--the best ever for a first-year Big Sky team. UND went 16-17 overall last season, giving Jones a seven-year record of 102-114 and a conference mark of 36-43. "Coach Jones has a clear blue print for this program and the results are showing," said UND athletic director Brian Faison. "This team has had as much success as any team transitioning to the Division I level in recent years, including three straight CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament berths. "We saw the immediate success his team had during its first year in the Big Sky. With the program heading in the right direction, we are happy to show him this level of commitment by extending his contract."
  4. as any intelligent person knows ...Physical strength, jumping ability, position, speed/quick and random movement of the ball off the rim/backboard have a lot to do with rebounding. UND really tall with hooker, terrel, estan in the starting 5 ya think these guys are 6'5"? ....3 of the top 4 rebounders in the Big Sky go 6'4" ,6'4" and 6'6" yup they are some really tall college basketball players dominating the boards on the Big Sky. Facts over fiction
  5. As most informed people are well aware of coaches are almost always given extensions vs letting contract expire. The very obvious reason is that recruits prefer to have an pretty good idea who their college coach will be . Think!
  6. Give Jones extension great job vs tough experienced team. Players love him as evidenced by very low transfer out rate. Lots of haters from NDSU on this board
  7. Jones firm but encouraging to players even when teams is losing
  8. coaches need to shoot free throws not the players
  9. slightly better shot of beating N. AZ. than Montana.
  10. Correct. His chance of getting canned this year is the same as Coach Cal at Kentucky...Zero. Pretty absurd to post about a guy getting fired when there is no chance.(kinda Like this Geno Tweet.. G-Muhneyy @genocrandall · 18h18 hours ago Outside of myself, cuz I would never say anyone is better than me.... the kid @Tyusjones06 is the best PG in the country. Easy.. Will revisit this post next fall and see if the fire Jones Crowd are man enough to eat crow when he is still at the helm. Show some intelligence and save the fire Jones banter for a season when it may actually be on the table....
  11. Made a false point the team has not improved in 9 years... fact one of the best in Big Sky last 2 years ..only a troll or a nut job would not call that an improvement. ...Only a troll or a nut job would compare a D2 team to a D1 team...Only a troll or a nut job would co-mingle a Low D1 program's non conference record with conference records and use that as a basis for evaluating a program, because UND usually plays on the toughest non conference slates in the league ..it is called fund raising not trying to pad your record. Every AD in the Big Sky is much more concerned about making money in the non conference than hunting for winnable games.
  12. Actually the last 2 years UND had 3 most wins in Big Sky that is the improvement pal. You must have forgot they were a D2 team 9 years ago...How many other Sky teams have gone to post season last 4 years troll??? No team improves every year for 9 straight years. wake up
  13. Big Sky Head Coaches more likely to get canned than get HC at higher level. Really do not see Jones losing job as UND is first and foremost by an extremely wide margin a Hockey School. Mens BB is pretty much an after thought. Run a clean program, be competitive and have the lowest paid Head Coach and the status quo will more than suffice.
  14. Why because they are realistic and based on objective criteria ? ... Tyler logged 44 minutes and Hooker 40. Coleman is not meeting expectations , He comes into games and fires up a ill advised 3 and gets pulled....Coleman needs to listen to the staff and play within the system if he wants to get serious PT. As of now Seales will get serious minutes at the 3 next season although he is best suited to play guard.
  15. Great Job last night. First 2 seasons in Big Sky UND was near the top of the league. His first 2 years in Big Sky Jones has 3rd best league record. Which is outstanding given that UND is located in the coldest climate in Big Sky and low level of D1 in state talent. The 3rd best Big Ten record the last 2 seasons is held by Mich. St. You do not see any morons calling for Izzo to be canned. UND like the vast majority of teams will go through rebuilding years ...that is the way things are and to suggest a coaches be fired for that is objectively ludicrous and there is no AD in the country which ascribes to such lame thinking. There are always a handful of trolls and or low IQ jerks complaining about a team not the best year in and year out. UND has no objective advantage over the majority of other Big Sky teams that would warrant the high level of league success they have obtained under Jones .
  16. Great Job to get road win as underdog. Jones needs a raise!
  17. Nice Ally-Oop Slam by recruit Josh Collins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZDEVZDztFk#t=159. Needs a lot of work on his skills but pretty good athlete. The other bright spot for DeLaSalle was Joshua Collins, who ended the day with 15 points. The senior stuck out from the rest of the Islanders’ squad not only because of his play, but because of his wardrobe. The only player on the DeLaSalle roster choosing not to don black socks, Collins rocked grey socks with a bright green University of North Dakota logo to showcase his pride for his future school and basketball team. “I have to represent NoDak,” Collins said. “I’m going to be up there next year. I wore them early in the season and stopped, but I decided to pull them out. It was a big game, and everybody was here. These are my Big Game Socks.” Collins also offered some insight on when he plans to wear the socks again. “You’ll see them in the state tournament,” he said.
  18. Seales likely play the 3 next season where UND needs help. Brickstine is a finesse forward who is pretty skilled and athletic and should be a solid 4. Rebounding looks to be weak again next season but the teams skill level should improve. Extra team summer practice and Euro tour should provide a a glimpse of how the 3 key new guys Seales, Brickstine and Geno fit in.
