Why are #3 red river and #1 south in the same bracket
Always been that way. If #1 South was on the same side of the bracket as #4 Sheyenne, then the #1 seeds would be together as well.

You were there for that too?
That was awesome.
Oh yes. I'll never forget the look on Mark Rerick's face as it was all going down

Can verify.
Relative played. Twisted Pint was a nearby “cooling station”. We all wondered by UND didn’t volunteer the ITF or GF offer Alerus.
Having the lights automatically shutdown at Cushman in the second semifinal once it hit midnight was quite the experience.

This past June, during the girls state soccer tournament in Grand Forks, there was some pretty crazy weather heat wise that ended up needing to push the games back until after the sun went down. Parents of the Fargo teams purchased hotel rooms for their own teams.

The more I think on it, it should be a slash, shouldn't it? Think about high sticking; Intent doesn't matter. if you hit someone high its two minutes. You can't just run around the rink swinging your stick all willy-nilly not giving a !@#$. If you accidently slash someone, it's a slash. And there was no "hockey play" reason for him to swing his stick out like he did.
I see no problem with two minutes for slashing.

Yep. How do they rule that the faceoff stays in the zone because Albrecht didn't skate into the net on purpose, but also decide that the diving stick swinging player didn't trip him? Can't have it both ways unless you are officiating by the scoreboard.
No argument with that. The announcers even said "this faceoff should come outside", which it obviously didn't. Definitely a trip.

It also appears that on the Albrecht breakaway chance that the Duluth player may have thrown his stick when I watched the game highlights on NCHCtv
He doesn't throw his stick. It is a trip for sure but probably wouldn't be given as a penalty shot.

Doesn’t matter, any contact with the blade of the stick is an automatic 5 and disqualification. Gesturing is 5 and a game misconduct.
Except it's not a spear. If anything at all, it's a slash, and a one-handed slash at that.

Well, it's definitely not a spear.

There needs to be some sort of sarcasm test on this board before you're allowed to post. Obvious sarcasm is obvious.

Oh my Driscoll

And that's annoying.

Refs are letting them play and decide the outcome. As long as it stays that way for the next 4 minutes, I don't have a problem with it.

Playing with a broken stick, moron.

Duluth can't stay onside. More offsides than a squirt B game.

That actually is a possibility.

What is the challenge here?
Bruce Ciskie of the opinion that Biondi is lucky to be in the game.
I think he's referring to the spear/slash at the end of the second.

According to rinkwriter 2005.
Crazy part is those two teams ended up playing each other in the state championship.
