  1. "We will play much better defensively in two weeks at NAU." (M. Kramer)  Well, that didn't happen.  52-7 NAU

I will be shocked if we are not in the 40's, even 50 is possible in this one.

    48 - 13 good guys

Add to that list Southern Utah and Weber State (and NAU, if they get hot).  I'm rooting for every team the UND plays to win all their other games.  Amazingly, Montana State is the team that is disappointing us the most.

Amazingly, we didn't beat Montana St. by more.  After the game I said Montana State is going nowhere this year, they didn't pass the eye test.  The direction we went and the direction Montana State went after the game with us couldn't be more different.

Does anyone know which scenario would help UND more, if either.

    Weber @ Souther Utah

Would it be better to see SUU (A team we just smoked, beat Weber) or would it be better for Weber to beat SUU .... hopefully sneak into the top 25, and give us a chance to beat a top 25 team next week. I don't actually think winning this game would be enough for Weber to get in to top 25, but maybe? Either, just another talking point for this weekend .... leading up to Revenge is a dish best served cold (Part Two): UND vs. Weber

Weber is at Sothern Utah, then at UND, I like it.......back to back road games.

Not sure how good ISU's WRs are this year but they tore us up last season.  We couldn't get to the QB and they turned short receptions into huge gains.

Looking forward to a week of quotes for their head coach Kramer.  Guy is full of one liners and brutal honesty.

Williams and Magnum shook Harris's confidence last year.  Williams is back so that is a key match up.  Harris has something to prove.  I think Schmitty will have a wrinkle or two considering the late meltdown last year and no nickle package.  Safety play was terrible last year, no Reyes, no Arnell, we had Sweed and Jawon.....and after the game Jawon found a new home at OLB, so figure that one out on your own.  It would be great to have Reyes, but don't panic if we don't.

Can we get a live Hawk to fly around the stadium before the kickoff? (I am serious about this idea.  Would be pretty sweet). Auburn fans seemed to get pretty jacked up about it!!

It was looked into-  couldn't find the right owner.  Most birds are trained hunters and killers.  These 'show' birds are much harder to find.  Then you have to deal with costs and risk......but it was explored pretty hard.

Absolutely... down 22 & they snap the ball w/ 8 seconds left???? Then pull that BS w/ a chest-thump to put the exclamation point on it.  Total bush-league, especially considering we ran it 3 times up the gut & then kneeled on 4th down, the game should've ended with SUU running 1 play to start the clock.

Ya, I am calling you out #70.  You are probably a total loser now and you will probably be a loser your whole life.  Great gamesmanship.  For 99% of all players there is a mutual respect.  I guess you are in the 1% club that are total Dicks, and your coaches and teammates know it.

You must think (by the tone of your post) that I am a 'Yote fan. No.  The original post you quoted was a sarcastic remark about how the polls discount the Big Sky and seemingly bow down to the MVFC.

With a Coyote profile.....I wasn't sure.  OK, you're not crazy then.

With this win, USD will be rated higher than UND in the polls (even with a win tonight) and UNI will still be in the top 20

Only if your QB could throw an out route, wouldn't that have been great for you.

USD didn't even get a vote last week.  You guys get even less respect than UND in the polls.  I don't think the yotes crack the top 25 after this win, need to string a few W's together.

Forgot to check back.  As I thought, Yotes still on the outside looking in.  You probably thought if you beat one of the messianic MVC teams you automatically become messianic youself......not the case.

That's what is a bit frustrating. Reyes got banged up in a game where he was playing in the 4th quarter with a 30+ point lead. Although injuries are never wanted, especially to a guy as talented and important as Reyes, I sure would've liked to see a different circumstance under which he got hurt.

I hope he can go or at least be available if they need him, but then let the other safeties get the majority of the snaps if everything is going our way.

Lastly, the Sacramento State game was on the road, also. Why can't UND blow Idaho State out of the water? Did you see what Portland State did to them without even completing a pass? That sure seems to play into our wheelhouse.

I thought Reyes and Studsy should have been out at least 1 if not 2 series earlier at Sac St.  They weren't and Reyes tweaked a hammy and Studsy took a big shot on a late hit, not good.

Unlike Sac St., I actually think Idaho St. could strike quickly against us.  Resting starters is something you don't talk about going into any game, but hopefully we handle it better if it happens again.

Best case scenario is that after taking care of business against Southern Utah, we get a big lead against Idaho State, and get our starters a rest for half a game, and treat that as our bye week.  I am starting to believe that our schedule isn't a cakewalk - if the season ended now, Cal Poly is a playoff team, and Weber State is on the bubble - so every game has something big on the line.

We just had our game to rest players.  Idaho St. on the road will be a 4 quarter game.

While I would hate for Reyes to miss the game, I would hate even more for him to reaggravate it and be out longer. Arnell will need to have a big time game, and hopefully Palmborg is ready to go.

Although there is a drop off if Reyes is out, it's not as catastrophic as last year without Arnell and Palmborg and Flowers having zero experience to go along with Sweed.  Reyes is really missed if the other team has a high end burner receiver.  Bowling Green had that guy that ran past Arnell and we got burned on the same play just before half.  BG ran it twice in the 2nd half and Reyes shut it down.  On run support, Reyes makes tackles for losses and short gains, and maybe the opponents gets a few more yards with him out.  That said, I might make it to practice to see if Reyes is a go, but won't share that info. for S. Utah to see.

Honestly, by 2030 someone will have invented teleportation and "home games" will no longer be a thing.  Everyone will just teleport to our new 600,000 seat, open-air, stadium 15,000 feet in the sky.

Back in 1992 they said the SEC was crazy for having a conference championship game and years later everyone stumbled over each other to have one.

If the Big Sky had a 'Conference Showdown' in Vegas, which would be a great spot by the way, we'd instantly steal the whole FCS show for that weekend and then some.

But of course, this would take real leadership and vision..........anyone anyone........calling on BSC leadership........ya, didn't think so.

That is by 2020 they are still running 11 game schedules, it could be 12 by then (there was discussing on FCS going to 12, I don't know how much support it has but its a possibility)

I would assume rotating.  I would like a permanent cross-over game based on historical and competitive balance (or as close as you can get it) and then rotate the other two.  For example

    East              West

    Montana        EWU

    MSU               Idaho

    Weber            SAC

    ISU                  PSU

    UND                Poly

    UNC                Davis

    SUU                 NAU

To continue to beat a dead horse with my pipe dream........  Play your division opponents and get ranked 1-7 East and 1-7 West.  Last week of the year, at a neutral venue have the Big Sky Challenge, need a turf field with all the games.  1's, 2's, 3's all the way down play.  That gives you 7 guaranteed games, which is perfect.

  14. S. Utah just sputtered offensively last week against UC - Davis, 260 yards.  That's a 'cash for clunkers' recipe in GF.  We owe these guys one.  Studsrud will look better this time out than the last time he faced the Turd Birds.  33 - 17 good guys.

My bad, Bartles finished the game with a hurt shoulder after Joe's achilles.  Studsy didn't play.

  15. I believe the NCAA regionalizes 9-24 seeded games.  Then, opens the envelopes and highest bid is home.  Pretty simple, we can outbid anyone even with a low seed.  1-8 seeds kick back and are guaranteed to be home for 2nd round.  (UNDBIZ sees it different?)

NCAA claims they don't open the bids 1st to maximize the $$ on the match-ups.

For last year the school kicked in the minimum NCAA bid of 35K and five private donors ponied up an additional 65k.  If the same thing happened this year,  I guarantee 100k would secure a first round playoff game... Money talks!!

You are wise.  Confidence was high for a home play-off based on UNDs bid, except we failed to get in.........

Homecoming really doesn't mean much in 2016.

Last year's homecoming had 9,188. Based on that I'd give a little bump for playing being pretty good lately. Last year there was also a lot of excitement too with its first ever win against a FBS.

The last UND home game had 10,097. I'd be pretty comfortable saying there will be less than that. Hope I'm wrong.

(If I had to actually guess a wager amount it would be about 9,800 + - 100).

    9,800??  you're short bro.

    10,500 O/U - I will take the over.

  18. 34 minutes ago, UND-FB-FAN said:

I would like to think UND could outbid SDSU, but hard to say. Largely depends on anticipated attendance; SDSU having an outdoor venue could negatively impact attendance.

Attendance gets an AD to a base bid, then it's donor based and the bid can be an infinite amount.  Get the F'n check books out boys. I meant F'n Hawk.  In theory, we can out bid anyone.
