The only new new addition to the roster I see is Michael Coe at OL. 6-3, 300 transfer out of Western New Mexico.

Just guessing Coe starts at G or Center this year.  He knows Luke's system, looks good on film.  Why bring him in for 1 year if not a strong potential of starter.

Noticeable that Alex Reed isn't listed on here, given how much praise he has received lately. On these boards, he has even been listed above Georges in some scenarios.

    Probably a hang nail.

Wrongo...no life breath!!!!! I am a season ticket holder for FH FB and was in hockey as well....but Hak cured me of that....may come back as Berry seems to be an OK guy.....At least he could close the deal!!!!!!

I do not like Bizzonville...their FB fans are as annoying and arrogant as UND 'ockey fans!!!!!!

Are you stating this as a fact?  I'm just curious, I had not heard this reported.

Don't hold your breath on the news conference.

I'd be careful bashing the kid on this one until I knew answers to some questions.

I'd ask questions like: how fast did the athletics department administration expedite the process?  How did the graduate school application and process play out?  Was the ball dropped by either entity at any time?  Maybe start with the SWA and go from there?

    Just spitballin' here...

How fast?  Not fast enough is the answer.  We had our chance and administratively blew it, reading between the lines.

Agree with all of this. The current logo isn't horrible if it's considered under the context of a secondary logo. But as a primary logo, there certainly are some deficiencies. I'll embrace it, but I sure would like to see some color alternatives for this (it's going to be on a kelly green helmet, so revealed color scheme won't work) and, eventually, a primary logo developed that features just the hawk with more detail.

Never played a down for a logo.  In the 90's they forced the geometric crap upon us, barely put a thought to it.  The new logo will be cool with me when we host a playoff game in the Alerus.

Based on what I heard if healthy Alex Reed would be expected to be the #1 guy based on Spring ball.

It's hard to believe Clive would be #2 compared to Reed.......sure would like to see him healthy and find out.

So was anyone successful in getting this started?  Could you post where to send a donation?  Thanks!!!

There is some internal debate between gray and silver with the helmet.  We had silver helmets at some point in the 60's - 70's to ball park it.  No final word yet as far as I know.......

That may be a bit of a stretch. Recruiting is such a crazy shell game at times that I don't think you can put that much blame on a kid. Some of these coaches are very good salesmen, aka manipulative. They know what they're doing and not all have the best interests of a kid at heart. Fortunately I feel our coaches truly care about what's best for each kid.

    I couldn't agree more-

Exactly Momster, these are 16 to 17 year old kids that are trying to make their way through this process.  Lincoln Gibbs lives close to my community.  I don't think there is a person who doesn't respect him.  His work ethic, passion, community service, and integrity is of no other high school kid I've seen.  He is a waiter at the restaurant we patron, a kid from a small school with incredible talent. I went to UND, my wife and I were hoping that  he would go to UND.  There was almost of full page story today regarding Lincoln and the offer in the Aberdeen American News. He's a class act. The Bison scored with this kid. Longtime Fan, I can see why you are PO'd.

Sorry, I was speaking in general terms.  Last year we saw a kid make 3 verbal commitments in 5 weeks.......just a little strange to me.  Being you are a UND grad, don't be a stranger.  Thanks for posting.

I can honestly say, how many 16-18 YO young men know that much about what they are eating tomorrow much less how they'll dig through the deep inner motivations and truthfulness of people they barely know when their future is in flux?  This isn't an easy time. They along with their families have typically never been through this process--you wouldn't believe the emails, texts, IM's, hundreds of mailers, promises made, insinuations that get put out there if you are a recruit.  Everyone has an opinion including these kids own coaches, families, friends, girlfriends and you throw in school and academics and proximity to home or not, $ and shake it all in a baggy with some hormones and you just never know what comes out the other side.

Yes, to your point, it's an adult decision to make.  We differ a little but in no way do I mean any disrespect.  On a 1-10 scale, If 1 was kid's gloves and 10 was treat these young men as adults, put me at a 7 or so.  Family and friends are instrumental in this process, how much input to provide yet letting the recruit make his own decision.  Good luck!!

I wonder if he's the one Schwenzfeier tweeted about.

I'd have guessed it was the new USD coaching staff.

I have a belief that the young men we want and need are intelligent enough and have enough awareness to see through that.  If an athlete can't navigate through the good and the bad in recruiting, that's a potential character flaw in my book.

Fly to JFK. Hop the Long Island Rail Road from the airport to Stony Brook's campus. You'll go broke parking a car anywhere in NYC or Long Island.

Good points.  We have a former RB in the 90's that lives out there, is an attorney.  "Zulu" was a name he went by.  I am going to try and get him on the forum.

I just went to New York a couple months ago.  It was about $400/ticket. Almost certainly better than driving.

Been researching, 1 to 2 hour drive depending on traffic, from Air Ports to Stony Brook, bring some quarters for the tolls.

  15. Looks like a decent flight from Fargo to Toledo, drive to Bowling Green.  Stony Brook......looks like a rougher adventure.  If anyone has insight, please share.

Alternate the divisions for the 4 thru 7 games each year, hosting for those doesn't matter much any way.  Have the 1 thru 3 games at Mile High Stadium in Denver as part of Big Sky Playoff Showdown weekend.  Have the games at 11, 3 and 7, with the Championship last.  You would also have quality games for your other playoff contenders to wrap up the regular season.  With six schools, you would have the potential for a good turnout and you would generally know well in advance if your team was going to make the Showdown, so travel plans would be easier.  Denver is a pretty easy flight for all schools as well, and it would draw some exposure to the league, and also be convenient for Root Sports to cover.

Kudos for the original idea!!  Let's get you on the committee.

So the unranked, 4-2 three-way tie-break winner from the < direction > hosts the top five ranked, 6-0 winner of the < other direction >?

What if you had an undefeated team from each side, how sweet would that be??  I didn't say it would be perfect each year, but at least it determines a champion by playing a game called the "Big Sky Championship Game!!"  It's really not that different from the power 5 FBS conference championship games except everyone plays in the conference, not just the top 2.  If this isn't considered.....why the hell not!!

What is the future of the Big Sky Conference? Two divisions or two separate conferences for football? Will changing landscape actually cause UND to shift to a different conference (MVFC with NDSU, SDSU, USD)? If for nothing else, all interesting questions for general discussion.

I know 14 teams is a joke of a conference when the conference champions are nothing more than 'paper champions'.  Split them 7 and 7.  Your 6 games count towards your seed in your respective half.  Last week of the season 1 plays 1 for the title.  2 plays 2, and so on.  I didn't need a 1,500 page report to come up with that.  That guarantees 7 conference games and fill the rest of schedule with 3 - 4 'non conference', which could be Big Sky teams.

I love how you sit in the shadows, and just wait for the opportunity to get a slightly negative post in against UND.    Maybe if an NDSU player hadn't dove at the back of our players legs and broken it, we wouldn't have been quite as depleted in the secondary that game.

Someone just yesterday at the Park River golf event spoke about that game.  He said if we had Cole that game, we win.  I assume the same about Arnell, but his leg had screws and plates in it at that time.......

There are several possibilities as to why. As for your second question, You don't have to sit for a year if it's to an FCS school (FBS to FBS transfer without waiver requires one year of ineligibility). Also, going off of Wentz being the No. 2 pick this season in the NFL draft, FCS or FBS doesn't matter if you can play.

    Certainly hope this works out.
