UND 20 UNC 17 That is what I am hoping for to get our first road win. However with our history of playing poor on the road, a young QB and it sounds like they like to throw the ball, it won't surprise me at all if they score first and we are behind the whole game.

Yeah no doubt. You'd think after running 30 straight times it would be easy to get a step or two on a DB and hit one over the top, but the two times we did the defender was right there....and the one time the defender was a step further downfield than our receiver. We need somebody to stretch the field.

Big congrats to all of them. If our OLine supposedly doesn't have a DI guy on the roster, give credit to the coaches (as well as the kids) for looking like a pretty decent OLine today. Pass blocking still needs some work, and definitely is not Garman's strong suit either....picking up the blitz. Great win and I can now be happy the rest of the day....Go Sioux!!

Garman had great game that is for sure. When he gets enough carries and gets in a groove he can really be productive. I'm not comparing him at all to Barry Sanders, but Garman would go down easy many times early in the year and get no yards or lose a yard. Sanders was kind of the same way sometimes, he'd run for zero...or one yard, but then bust one for 15 or longer. Garman has shown a great knack for knowing when to take it to the outside and he is quick, was really fun watching him today.

That's what I'm talking about.....woohoo!!

That series made no sense to me.
-
There was plenty of time....why did we come out in passing sets?
-
Why do we have no RB in the backfield to at least run play action, or run the ball!
-
Alright....let's have the freshman drive us down the field......and the freshman kicker nail the game winning field goal!
-
NAU has us right where they want us......3rd and long.
-
I wonder if those who scream for a pass on first down enjoyed that 7 yard loss on first down.
-
Boom....great play call by NAU. Being super conservative is great when it works....but not so much when it doesn't.
-
That penalty may very well cost us the game, pretty sure we would have scored a TD there. Hopefully it doesn't...we'll see. I certainly don't feel comfortable with only a 6 point lead.
-
Ugh.....I guess we were just getting teased today, thinking we might pull out a real nice win. Not looking good here right now, we need to start making some plays!
-
Geez those long 3rd down conversions are killing us!
-
He has definitely pulled out the Stoney Brook offensive game plan since the first quarter, hopefully it will hold out.
-
Yeah....I was just going to say...you can feel the ole momentum changing here......ugh.
-
Yeah 31 straight runs, should definitely be able to surprise them with a pass sometime here and get a completion. I can't complain too much about all of the running though as hey it's working. Although now they just scored.....we can't sit on the lead the whole game. Just gotta find that perfect time to dial up a nice pass play.
-
I can't remember the last time we had a TD run that long!
-
When you can run for 4 yards on first down....the offensive coordinator looks brilliant! Wow another sack for the defense!
-
That was a pretty nice push by the line to get the TD....when everybody knew a run was coming.
-
Up 7-0...gotta love that!

I think there are few games where the playing calling was pretty decent, and I agree there have been some others that have been questionable at times. Play calling has to be tough with this offense, especially now when you don't really trust much of anything. The first play with Studsrud.......guess what he did...he threw a pass (I bet you didn't see that one coming). But when you start throwing picks you have to dial it back. I know what your saying though, find some plays that fit him and find some things to keep the defense off balance, short passes.....whatever. I think he did start doing that in a few games in the middle of the season, and we were just starting to make some progress. It's almost like the chicken and the egg.....which one has to be good first? Do they actually have to execute and catch the ball and get a first down to improve the play calling, or does the play calling have to improve to get us a first down. I blame a majority of it on execution. If you start running the ball at 3-4 yards a crack, catch the ball when you are wide open and get a first down......that sure makes things a lot easier. Calling plays for the train wreck of an offense at this point can't be easy, I have no ties to Rudolph at all......but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.......for now.
