  1. I think 6-2 can still be considered somewhat of a successful season. In a normal year with 3 out of conference games, assume we go 2-1 out of conference, that is an 8-3 record which is pretty good considering we are playing in tough conference. I think a lot of it will also just depend on how we look, and the way games go. I mean do NDSU and SDSU both beat us by 30 points, then yeah 6-2 probably not feeling very good after that. If we go 6-2 with very competitive games and close losses to NDSU and SDSU, that is marked improvement. Although it would be nice to make our mark early in the MVFC and beat one of the SU's.
  2. At the end of August, these were the top 4 schools he was focusing on. Not sure if the other schools ended up withdrawing their offers later or not, but pretty good company with those other 3.
  3. Yep for sure. While we lost Bennett on the D line, I think with the other guys gaining more weight and having another year of experience, I think it could bet a net positive for the D line this year, we'll see. I'm really anxious to see that new freshman NG getting a few snaps. He's going to be the type of guy we need in the middle once he gets some reps and experience.
  4. With a year under his belt as offensive coordinator, I'm guessing Danny has reviewed what worked well and what maybe didn't work as well and he'll likely be an even better play caller this next year than he was for the 2019 season. I'd say he was a success and was a good choice for the position. If our OL can actually get a push now that they have some size, that will only make his job easier. Should be lots of good NFL playoff games in January to tied us over until we get to February and some UND football!
  5. Sounds like a score from the 4th grade elementary school C team.
  6. Props to him for putting in the work off the field.....to get back on the field. Looking forward to watching him this spring, we'll need him!
  7. I know it's only 9 man ND football......but some of those plays look like if a 6th grader was playing tackle football with the 3rd graders.
  8. He definitely verballed. He even commented on the article about him on the UND360 site. This is at the bottom of the article about him.
  9. Let's hope we are still able to get him signed.
  10. Honestly, I think no news up to this point is probably good news. Would rather have had no news than hearing somebody flipped. Hopefully tomorrow is a good day and they all sign!
  11. We had an 8-9 minute in that Dixie state game where we only scored 8 points. Can have HUGE scoring droughts like that in a game and expect to win.
  12. We scored 2 points in 7 minutes and 36 seconds.....we didn't deserve to win, unfortunately. Damn it!
  13. I agree. Didn't Keven Klancher start as a freshman, not sure if he was a captain that year or not...but I'm guessing not. Or did he just have to play as a freshman due to injury, can't remember. Captain choices this year look good and about what I'd expect, no surprises. At least we don't have the 2nd string QB as a captain....which happened while Kett was here.
  14. Will the games be streamed anywhere, or only available if you have Midco?
  15. Damn we are missing the best part, by the time the game come on we'll probably be down 10. Would have been nice to have seen this fast start.
  16. The next time down the floor Sims threw up a hurried ill advised 3 and missed it, that started a 10 minute embarrassingly ugly stretch. It started about about 15 minutes and I don't think we got to 50 points until around the 6 minute mark. Definitely saw good flashes of a good team, but they need to be more mentally tough and have someone step to stop an entire 10 minutes of ineptitude. And yes as the other poster posted......you lost to a team that made one 3 pointer in their first ever Division I game. There was some ticky tacky fouls on us it seemed. You are what you are....and right now we are 0-2.
  17. They are hustling on D!
  18. Would have been nice if they could have streamed the 50 play scrimmage, given us something. Seems like there was so little coverage of fall camp. Miller maybe couldn't even go to practice though due to them not letting people in due to Covid?
  19. Him and McNeal could be solid building blocks for our LB's in the next 3-4 years! The nice thing on this recent one, early signing day isn't too far away.....I'd think he signs in December.
  20. Early signing day can't get here soon enough!
  21. Or NDSU coming in and offering him a scholarship. You know that they will absolutely hate seeing him go to UND.
  22. If I understand it correctly, nobody burns a year of eligibility this year, does this mean this recruiting class likely be a fair amount smaller? In theory, our entire team could be back for 2022. However I'm sure there will be seniors that will graduate and not wish to come back etc.. So do you think the coaches are having conversations with seniors now, asking what their plans are? Also if there are some seniors (who 2021 would have been their last year of eligibility) that play very little or are in a position that is already deep, would it be likely the coaches would maybe ask them to not come back for 2022 to free up scholarships?
